  1. are you using spacers That would be my guess spacers shouldn't make any difference, the longer stud on the spacers counters the width of the spacer therefore retaining the standard nut, bolt on spacers always have a corresponding stud length again retaining the standard nut.
  2. Think this club deserves a place on the Top Gear cool board
  3. Thanks for your feedback Phil, always helpful. My only question is, surely we would have the same problems when the car is cold for this to be the problem? No because the cold start is opening the throttle more so will compensate.
  4. cleaning the butterfly is not a problem as long as you dont move the butterfly by hand. Simply remove the throttle body and spray plenty of carb cleaner around the pivot points. You will clearly see when you remove the throttle body the build up of sticky residue which prevents the butterfly from closing properly.
  5. Most regular cause for the low idle is sticky throttle butterfly.
  6. +30 on the Rotas with 9.5 allround works very well, we have supplied lots with this setup. Hi Phil, do you supply tireless or with tyres or both - could you PM me a price on a set of four, GM or Standard Alu in colour? Any ideas?

if there is a small boost leek it will build boost to a point and then release at a certain pressure therefor restricting power, quite different on a diesel to a petrol car. Worth checking all the small vacuum pipes you can find to make sure they are attached.

you should be able to hear that ? does it rev cleanly when standing ? not with low blow units, boost pressure is quite low and not as easy to hear on a diesel. not saying it is that but it has all the symptoms.

If I remember correctly these have a low blow turbo, sounds like a possible boost leak.

  17. only 5 hours left to be able to order at this price £1200
  18. but you can still have them at £1200 if you are quick.
  19. I didn't know these existed Does that not wipe out the purpose of having a locking wheel nut!?!? Depends on the quality of locking wheel nut in my experience. I think these are mainly designed for OEM nuts and bolts. The design has changed slightly from what I last remember but below is an example.... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_196491_langId_-1_categoryId_71555 Fair enough - learn something new everyday! Although reading the one feedback comment on there, I don't think we have to worry too much about people using them to steal alloys!! lockers are a deterent but not found a set yet that we haven't been able to remove, the good thing is some take a fair amount of time but some very pricey ones are frightenly easy.
