I wish! Might have to wait a while before I can afford any more mods. As far as the interior goes, the only thing that disappoints me now is the central dash console. It's a pity nobody has come up with an alloy replacement for the cheap-looking plastic one.

I phoned the DVLA today and was told quite categorically that although my vehicle was manufactured and first registered in Japan in February 2003, it was first registered in the UK after March 2006 and is therefore subject to the full tax banding. Anyone who has a similar import and is not due the full £400 is very lucky - it is a mistake and must have been down to the person who completed the documentation at SVA.

I had been aware of the Zed through reading Autocar etc. but thought that it would be too expensive so paid little attention. For a while after that I was considering an RX8, and I don't even think that I actually saw a Zed in the flesh. Then, en route to visit my daughter in Brisbane in 2004, I saw a gleaming black Z with a few nice mods on it in Singapore. It looked and sounded stunning and I vowed thereafter that I would have one. It took a couple of years but eventually I managed it.

I think we should make it clear that nobody on this forum ever does that speed on a motorway in this country, only in Germany or on private roads.

My new seats arrived today. I'm really pleased with them. The leather is similar to the Alezan colour but not quite as orange. A couple of pics to give you the idea. And a couple of gratuitous pics after I cleaned and waxed it at the weekend (used the Dodo Juice wax for the first time).

Eventually got round to examining the footwell lights more closely. As you can see, the small 3W bulb is covered with a yellow plastic sleeve. Any idea where I could get replacement bulbs, possibly in different colours? I would like blue to match the interior lighting LEDs that I installed.

That's not right - I'm fully expecting to pay over £400 this month to renew. Many other JDM owners have also found they are paying the full whack because the DVLA take the import date as the date of first registration, ignoring the fact that it has been previously registered in Japan. A few lucky ones seem to have got away with it. though.
