  1. OK - is anyone interested at £75?
  2. +3 to the other responses. I don't believe for a second that Alex would have said or even implied what is being stated here.
  3. Cheers, Neil. No worries.
  4. Quick update on this. Eventually went to Power Tune in Motherwell for a remap. Joe did an excellent job, and explained everything very clearly before and afterwards. The cost was very reasonable, and a lot cheaper than some of the tuning kits I was looking at. The car is transformed, better torque across the rev range, no flat spots now and mpg improved by 10-15%, depending on driving style! All in all, just what I wanted. Cheers for all the advice, guys.

    eBay? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Nissa ... 5d2fd531ad
  6. Can negotiate a bit on price - need to get this shifted from the garage.
  7. I used AG SRP on mine and it worked fine - just needed a little bit of elbow grease.
  8. Very neat installation. Did you have to remove the rear bumper to fit the camera? Does it work well even at that acute angle?
  9. Neil, do you know anything about this company, based in Motherwell? http://www.power-tune.net/
  10. Looks like I'll just have to find somewhere in Central Scotland that does remaps for Nissans. Thanks for all the replies, folks.
  11. Ah - now that's the kind of thing I was worried about. Maybe a remap is the safer route to go down.
  12. Yes - I had a quick look on there, but it wasn't particularly helpful. Opinions varied pretty much as they have here.
  13. Yes - I think I need to do a bit more research before committing to a particular product. Might give DTUK a ring tomorrow.
  14. I wasn't brave enough at the time to get the drill out!
  15. Hmmm - that's a strong recommendation, but these chips are considerably cheaper than the ones I posted about. I always reckon you only get what you pay for, and the low price of these would worry me a bit.
  16. Yes, but Middlesborough is a fair hike for me!
  17. That's a thought. Are the costs for a re-map similar to these piggy-back chips? Do you know anybody in our area that would do that kind of work?
  18. The other half has a 2.0 dci Qashqai, and we were wondering about the benefits (or not) of plugging in one of these diesel tuning chips you see advertised in Autocar etc. While we are not looking for a major performance hike, it would be nice if we could get some of the claimed improvements (smoother torque curve etc.) and perhaps a bit of an improvement in the mpg. Anyone had any experience of these chips? Part of the problem is choosing between the variety available - all of them include testimonials from lots of "satisfied customers", but not sure whether to believe them or not. Here are some examples. Are these reputable companies? All advice will be welcomed. http://www.chipexpress.com/products/1615/ http://www.tdi-tuning.co.uk/car_and_van ... _P608.html http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/sys ... hp?id=1151 http://www.bhpplus.co.uk/Speedhawk-Dies ... 19. Why don't you just take it off and paint it?
  20. You were very lucky. I bought one from a member on here, then discovered that my JDM did not have any fitments to attach it to, so I had to return it.
  21. That would be the very annoying JDM reversing beeps. As far as I know, nobody has yet come up with a way of disabling them, so if you fit reversing senors you will have two sets of beeps to contend with.
  22. I need the space in my garage so I'm clearing out a few bits and pieces. I started to rub this plenum down with a view to trying to polish it myself but gave up and lost interest. It's the original one from my car - I bought another one already polished and swapped them a couple of years ago. I'm not sure what the going rate for these is now but am offering it initially for £100 delivered.
  23. Holdcrofts is a Nissan main dealer. Forum members have been buying stuff from them for years. Do we not get a forum discount from them?
  24. Remember though that these were an official accessory though. Make sure the insurance company know that. Good thinking - I'll get on to that soon. Cheers, Stew.
