Bit too far for me, plus lots on next weekend.

My missus has got her heart set on a new style Beetle and just wondering if anyone has any experience or knows if there is anything particular to look out for? Or even better if someone knows of a decent one being sold? She's looking to spend around £5-6k ish, which we reckon should get her something around a W plate or poss slightly newer. black, silver or blue, with a half decent spec. Upto 50k (lower the better obviously) but would consider upto around 60k for the right car. Thanks for any help

I'm just about to try out the Mintex Extreme pads abp posted up about a while ago. I'm going to have a bash at fitting them myself (I haven't tried this before but it doesn't look too difficult). I've already had a look at a couple of guides both of which are saying that I need to take the caliper off to change the pads - is this absolutely necessary or can I get away without taking the caliper off the disk? (sorry if I'm being naive here) Also, will I need to bleed the brakes after I've changed the pads? Cheers folks

Hi Mick Steer well clear of Autoglass mate (unless your insurance covers their full cost - but I don't know what the service is like), they are very expensive, iirc around £900. That said it would be for a genuine Nissan screen, however you don't really need to end up with that. The ones that are manufactured from other companies are perfectly up to it (although some people strongly disagree) and are significantly cheaper. My insurance policy only covers upto £350 for a screen with a £60 excess and the company I've used really are fantastic, although they are a long way from you I'm pretty sure they're part of a network so would be able to recommend someone for you - may be worth giving them a bell anyway its: Bolton Safety Glass 97-99 Derby Street Bolton, BL3 6HH 01204 393260 Good luck
