  1.

Why do they need heatproof rear lights?

If the lights are anywhere near the exhaust tail pipes then they may be needed, as mine fires out two foot long blue flames out when giving it some beans :teeth:

    perhaps it prefers petrol :p

  2. the issue is that the Unichip is a **** poor piggyback.... it offers just the bare minimum control needed.

I think perhaps for our car's needs, the bare minimum is all that it does need...?

Would love to get Chris to do it, but Silverstone is a 700+ mile round trip for me. For the same price of petrol and an overnight stay I think I'd prefer to have a weekend break in Amsterdam and come home with change!

....and back with something else if have taken something for the weekend Sir.... ;)

  3. Mikes going to make an honest woman of Karen, so has a lot on at the moment, I think the honeymoon may coincide with the meet too.

Jacko said I could come if there was a lot less numbers :D

Its a zed only meet. :)

Okay Okay it was worth a try. :D

You'll have to tell Mrs Sarnie that the new house she wants is on hold as you need to buy a ZED to come and play with us :teeth:

  4. Seeing SimonD's delicious new Z just now and the fab number plate.. it got me thinking about getting a personalised plate myself..

    But I really can't decide on a _ _ _ _ ZED or a _ _ _ _ ZZZ !??

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers !

    Jimmyjam

I have the former the latter looks like you might be dozing off... :p

  5. I use distilled Malt Vinegar, giving it a good hard wipe with newspaper until it is dry - should remove the the two different colours you are seeing (I use it on the inside as well as out - helps to stop the bloom building up).

  6. More photos of today's meet - thanks for a great time Andy, Nismo, Lugger, Cavey, Pingu2, and Zeny - you getting that Nismo exhaust now you've heard their worth? :teeth: )

Novice at posting pics, so hope what I have previewed you see too!

  7. I don't really see many instances where locking is beneficial; one though would be where the thread has resorted to personal insults.

In general, I think that moderators should moderate and if there is blatant PWing on a topic there are at least 2 options:

    - split the thread; after all no-one has to read the split thread if they don't want to as it continues to its natural conclusion in turdsville

    - the moderator can be proactive in another way than locking, by simply asking the PWing protagonists via PM to please desist; blatant continuation on the thread and other threads can be dealt with offline with the individual concerned.

Simply locking when a question appears to have been answered is IMO hardly ever justified, because (as noted above) it is a judgement call that it has been answered and that there are no related issues which some other member might usefully want to post on the subject. If the question is succinct and the answer is clear, there is nothing stopping a mod creating a standalone FAQ from it - if it has not been answered before and might be useful to others

    :)

Merit in what Prescience says there, who has obviously been around a while to make and see a vast range of postings.

  8. And being a Vauxhall - you'll get one for a packet of pork scratchings and some pocket lint in about 4 years time

    That's why I'm considering a Monaro... £37k new, one year later £25k

And £12k the year later ;)

Depreciates nearly as fast as a Lambo then? :p

  9. This is obviously getting very confusing! What bronzee has written must be for an import as the UK spec doesn't have a display button on the head unit.

Therefore I guess on a UK spec 350z you cannot display the time on the Head Unit.

Thanks anyway - good response Bronzee (for imports i guess).

From what you indicate you have a UK car whereas Nixy has an import. Please see my earlier post where the manual for UK (and Europe) cars does not indicate any clock option on the audio system. Hopefully for Nixy, Bronzee's post will help if she has a clock on her import and certainly if cars they get in NZ are of similar spec to Nixys? :bye:

  10. i was right then :teeth:
    :notworthy:

If it is, and hats off to you Mike, I hate to think what boot space would be left - no good for me then and it is begining to look like one of those 'orrible Lexus 'roadsters' - saw one close-up yesterday :yuck:

  11. Oh well, at Chorley Nissan (wigan branch) they have set prices for servicing. L1 is about £120, L2 around £150 and L3 around £185.

It may be worth ringing around and finding prices from other garages near you, or even coming to wigan, may save you around £40 once you've paid your petrol...

I got a courtesy car last time and used £10 worth of their diesel oops.. :teeth:

Seems cheap for a P3 to me. Mine was nearer the £300 mark.

Well i got my L2 for about £150. My next service was an L3 and i got quote along with a leaflet with the set prices on stating the L3 was £185. I think this is only for cars that are out of warranty though, hence my original question about whether his car is in warranty.

    Infact its here:

    http://www.chorleynissan.co.uk/Aftersal ... ffers.html

So your ZED is 4 cylinder???? Watch the small print!

  12. Nixy; I think you misunderstand (or I do! :headhurt:) Bronzee (and I) are picking up from the post below. Squarehead followed by a similar query so Bronzee is offering an answer, providing of course you have the same audio system in your car and then you can have a clock display on your radio face.

If you have the Bose head unit, you can program the time to display there, presuming the presets are the same in the UK. ;)

Give me a clue.. How do you do this?

It does seem that imports (or some) do not have a clock function in the trip computer dial as you have clearly explored all posssible options to see if one is there.

  13. I think the first one points to the metal folding roof hinted at recently ;)

and if look carefully you can see the joins on the pillars

I'm off to get a new pair of glasses, budger if I can see the joins

    roof.jpg:wheelchair:

Thanks Mike, can anyone else on here can tell us what the lingo is saying about the car. :surrender:
