Porsche are losing the plot, bigtime.
Did you see the link on that site though:

The Z still remains one of 20 least depreciating cars and as its one of the oldest designs in that group - not bad, eh?
Didn't see a Lambo in that top 20 though

This is a last minute idea.. but i thought maybe alter the trip destination to Brighton??
OK by me - if it helps, the A24 south of North Holmwood has some rewarding sections and a finish location could be on the esplande at Brighton where they do the time trials? Roads around Bury Hill (A29) can also be entertaining (day trippers allowing!). Unless you have a circular route in mind I guess it would take less than 2 hours from the Guildford Area to Brighton so are you planning on a later start?
I don't know the roads to Bournemouth other than the A3 and some of the A31 so that would be a new experience.

"More like pure excitement at getting a good thrashing" - yeah, I could undertstand that if the front washers had a squirt but a bit sad when its out of the back end!
-
Go for it - you only live once and only regret it later if you don't.

Sorry to hear of your Zs incontinence

I hope I am not the only one thinking - why 2 valve holes per wheel?

We know its the norm in Iceland, but at £2k+ per tyre I guess the Oxfordshire ( ) gents could see their programme going up in smoke!
-
Loved the bit where the Icelandic mechanic 'set fire' to the deflated tyre to get it back on the rim and the look on Clarkson's and May's faces
-
Its worth a drive up to York then
-
Count me and a passenger in please.
Any idea of start/finish time - like, do we grab a before, or at, the off?
-
Martinmac said "Any interest, for whatever reason is appreciated at our age". which Trev-the-rev seconded and as I am older than both of them would I get two waves Nixy?

got mine and lookin
thanks max

Hi Dan: We have not met and I have met only a few of the guys and gals but what a great bunch they are, eh?
Reading the very genuine sentiments of support has been a bit of a choker and brought back memories of a similar situation to yourself, 17 years back after the break up of my first marriage. I met June and like you, head over heels - she then found someone else - I was advised to move on - I did and avoided all contact - then when I started seeing someone else June came to wish me luck but as soon as we saw each other we knew what we had been missing and what we reallly wanted and in September will be celebrating 15 years of the best marriage a guy could want. (She must be special, encouraging me to get my second Z, when I know she would rather we just had her Jazz with a smaller engine! )
Moral is and as others have said; if you can break all contact but the feelings are genuine on both sides, not just yours, then who knows - you might find she realizes just what she is missing?

I'll look out for you - if you've got the roof down guess you will be looking like this-

Hi and welcome - I'm just over the Downs from you in Epsom with a '56 black ZED - what colour car do you have that I can look out for? As they are a bit rare in this neck of the woods hopefully I should spot you unless with this weather you have taken to a

It would be really good if someone can come up with a re-wire for the mirrors on UK cars to open/close either by the ignition or by the remote.

Middlehurst quoted me £22 (P & P & VAT included) for such a cap back in April so the £10 they want now seems a bargain
-
Oh come on Mike, let the continue - it has really given me laugh as these two slug it out - all in the best possible taste of course Whether they will in the end is possibly doubtful but they both know where to draw the line, as we have seen before.

I know just how you feel Nixy and s|114 - I live in an unadopted cul-de-sac of 10 houses where over half are now being let and I regret that the short term tenants with undiscplined kids simply do not have the same values. The situation has got so bad that we are now moving and where the potential for car damage can be minimized. I have recently found scratches on the bonnet of the ZED - whether that's from where the kids delight in sliding down the bonnets or from the local feline population I do not know - but I now need a good car detailer. (when I have moved!)
ps: Nixy: 10 blokes in one house breaches planning rules - if you want more on that PM me.

Digsy said it "Tickles me that the 51 plate is the dearest!"
Is that because DVLA sized up the potential?
and yes, I splashed out on a ZED plate last year - with the imports seeming to outnumber new cars sold here I thought 'UK' seemed the ticket rather than opting for the 'MY' prefix On reflection I'm not sure if that was the best choice and the dealer did warn me that I would not get my money back but that it might help a sale when the time comes .

OK Digsy but another 350 owner nearby is a rare event down south - you are tripping over one another up north, hence my enthusiasm! (excuses for my browser)
What is the feature of your ZED you LIKE the most

'Super' car performance at an affordable price that is basically bullet-proof and for those who enjoy a good drive , nothing else comes close.
If the more informed motoring journalists still rate it - look how long it has remained best smal coupe in EVO - that says it all.
As other threads reveal, the only thing that lets it down is paint quality. (But as that dosen't affect the driveI can live with it.)
