  1. I think this has been covered before and I have a few favourites but the best has to be.........

Nordschleife at the Nurburgring - 13 miles of pure joy! And one way too (so not much traffic coming the other way unless they're in mid spin!!)

So has it moved to the UK now ;):p

I am sure you have a special road that gives you a buzz this side of the North Sea? ;)

  2. I'd go with one which suited your name better than the car. More transferable for future cars ;)

I'm guessing the last three digits are relevant to his name ;)

Yes got that but the GT isn't. I meant more like B34TTY.

Should of known I would have to spell it out to you.

Your such a misery sometimes

and your such a bore

Now, now girls put your handbags down your going off topic......:p

  3. A year or so ago, some of the guys in our dynamic performance division were playing around at MIRA, testing a number of different tyres for the zed. Michelin Pilot Sports came out top but our friends in Japan still wouldn't put them on for Europe! Shame

Following my collegues advice, I put MPS's on my zed last year and I have to say, although pricey compared to other brands, they are awesome :teeth:

No doubt Bridgestone have virtually wrapped over the tyre supply for Japanese cars - they must have the biggest expenses budget ;)

  4. The only issue you'll have is 2 seats, seriously think about that and if you can live with it. That is the reason I had to part with mine as I couldn't take our niece out anywhere.

    good luck :)

As the need for more than two seats is a big issue, but heavy MPG ain't , then do what rmmackfc has done and buy a Monaro - far better than the other options you have tried - the noise they make is just awesome and a great wolf in sheeps clothing meaning you don't get the wrong attention, until you put the peddle to the metal that is... ;)

  5. Hi mate, another yellow..must be the commonest colour now

I only bought it cause I's never seen a yellow before and I worled for Nissan for 7 months earlier this year

There is definately none here in Grimsby anyway

As a comparison this UY is advertised at West London Nissan (Shepperton) for £21489:

    "2005 05 NISSAN 350Z 3.5 V6 GT4 3 Door Coupe

YELLOW, Insurance Group 19, 32400 Miles, 2 Registered Keepers, Full Franchise Service History, Franchise Approved, HPI Checked, Car Data Checked, ABS, Alarm, Alloy Wheels, Body Coloured Bumpers, ...More, Tel: 0845 8110349"

So 18k (albeit on an 04) looks a pretty good buy + like the plate you bought  Even better if it is an 05 looking at your other thread about plates :thumbs:

  6. crap build quality
Wot - even worse than Nissan's ???? Never

Any Jap based cars are a far better build than French cars IMO when things like discs need replacing with less than 12k miles done because they have warped.

I have never had any such issues with the Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Suzuki cars I have owned (aside from two ZEDS), all of which have been ultra reliable without bits falling off or wearing out prematurely. :)

  7. Having had a ZED with a 276 engine and now one with a 296 engine there is some loss of low down torque with the latter, but offset by the fun factor of a few more revs at the top end before the limiter kicks in. Really not much difference in overall performance IMO.

As regards the oil consumption issue I used 0.5 of a litre in 6500 miles - I ran the engine in as advised in the owner's manual and having had the previous ZED, I new what was to come and did the patient bit. I do wonder if some owner's can't wait to give it some beans and that is why their oil consumption has not been to good?

Always concerns me when buying a second had car is how it was treated in its early days - you only find out after a period of ownership but there's no doubt that the ZED engine is fundamenatlly very strong so you shouldn't be too worried :)

  8. Thanks for pointing out and I have now (hopefully) stopped details being passed on.

I have tended to bin the Sky magazine - just more junk mail but have been caught out by subscription changes that were included like this latest leaflet. The operator I spoke to said they would stop sending the magazine, but would now separately post subscription or other changes that affect me - lets ses if that works

  9. The autoexpress item says:

"it aims to tempt buyers away from more costly rivals such as the Nissan 350Z."

    Any takers on here? :scare:

Anyone so minded would be bloody mad - made in France means crap build quality, crap longevity and crap residuals - and that just for starters.

Neo said it looked more like a smart roadster - apart from the gearbox that is a damn sight better car than the ugly ducking at the top of this thread - just a pity they never put the V6 bi-turbo into production - anyone who were fortunate enough to have a ride in one of the ten concepts they made will know that was like s..t of the proverbial and they handled like a dream. :D

  10. Are those Falkens tyres?

Just come from reading the thread on winter tyres where Sarnie says"

"When looking at the photo's I could tell from a distance that they were Falkens. For some reason they have distinctive kind of design that I don't like."

Now either you know your Falkens or you don't, so don't f..kin muck us about :p

  11. how much and what size ? desktop or wall mount ? :headhurt:

 does it matter - it will be pics of quality ZEDs! Get your name down.

Sarnie - all you have do is get that ZED then you might get get a piccy selected - have to be something special though ;)

  12. Took the advice offered above and had the P1 service done - at the local Nissan garage in Epsom and worked out to £158  excluding the Motul 300v 5w-30 oil I supplied (from the oilman- cheers Guy and thanks for the discount  ). At least the car came out unmarked and still working.

Price turned out better than I was first told after enquiring about a discount and that to get a better price I would have had to spend the money in petrol getting to somewhere remote and wasting time waiting, and when you work for yourself.... Also, there is the added benefit with a ZED under warranty that should I need anything sorted I am probably better off using the local Nissan outfit.

The good news is that I have had no faults in the first 12 months and after 6700 miles only 0.5 litre of oil was necessary as a top up. :)

The bad news is that £300 road tax is now due (£400 next time) but then I balance that against the :teeth: 's the car gives me each time we share company - a small price to pay for my pleasure and at my time in life you take what you can when you can - they get less frequent ;):p

  13. As Chesterfield and PI5ULT have said you often have to make a real nuisance of yourself - typical of this country you get charged the earth for things and there is little or no interest in 'customer care'.

A relative of mine used to do the snagging reports for what the company described as the 'difficult' customers - he said some were clearly on the make but often the claims were perfectly genuine and he organized the work. But he was brought in when the boffins got fed up with the nagging so it does seem that might be the only way to get things done.
