Cheers. The main thing Ive discovered is that these projects are just an endless pit of money, as soon as you sort one thing, another one gives up. When all said and done its still a 350Z no matter how much dosh you throw at it. (not dissing zeds in anyway, they are great cars) The manufacturer knows best, and thats what im sticking to from now on, factory cars that Im not constantly messing with! Great as a weekend toy, but not suitable for daily transport.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that my zed is now under new ownership. Its gone to a good home, and that makes me a happy man. Why did I sell? well, after spending all that money on the car, it just left me a bit cold, the thought and doing of it wasnt as enjoyable as the finished article. Had fun along the way, but wouldnt undertake something like that again.

Might be worth putting into perspective that this is only 1 disc that has cracked. How many others do we know that have gone???? component failure can happen in any brand/type of disc, this one just happens to be a DBA. Unless it was something that was common place, I wouldnt let it put me off buying them. My AP discs are slotted, no problems with cracking. Loads of people with DBA's with no problems.

Id defo do the suspension and brakes before a power upgrade (I did it the other way round the 1st and 2nd time) Its only when you drive this car with a proper setup for suspension and brakes do you realise how important it is. Even just change the pads, the Nissan jobbies really are turd.

You'll be fine with the Brembo's at 400bhp, like H5 says, all depends on what your doing with the car. What I would say is, most definitely change the pads at least as the standard ones are shite. I had a few bad brown trouser moments when they faded on me, I only did 2 stops from about 150 and they were toast. Ferrodo are the best you can get.

Im running DS2500's on my AP kit, they work superbly. Very little dust, no noise, work great from cold and get better the more heat you put into them.

No probs at all mate. I will get some proper footage of it when the weather clears up. Only managed to run full boost once since I've had it back. Mind you, wiped the floor with a 911 turbo tonight (on medium boost).

I used to own a S2000 before my first Zed. Loved the car when I first got it, but the handling used to scare me to death. Snappy chassis has been tamed with suspension revisions over the years, but its still a nasty handling car in my opinion. Tiny cabin (how i ever fit in it, i dont know!) but marginally better build quality than the zed. Totally different cars, I wouldnt buy another convertible, got sick of the torqueless engine, so the zed made perfect sense to me. Still loved it as a car, but needed to move on. On balance the zed is a much better owning experience.

I sold my discs and calipers for about 1 grand. That is the standard fare for these brakes. They are pretty easy to get hold of. Alot of skyline owners get shot for some bigger kit.

Why would you be changing gears more??? it doesnt alter the ratio of the box, only shortens the throw of the shifter.

Defo a reet bargain that.
