  1. My old zed with the Vortech and resonated decats +Nismo just sounded plain mental! I loved that sound, and didnt found it droned much when cruising, as long as their was no load on the engine. Mind you, get your toe down and jeeesus, it was loud. When visiting my parents, they could hear me coming down the country roads for about 10 minutes before i got there. I miss that Nismo!!! Since i fitted a lighter flywheel on my car, the APS is popping and banging like hell when downshifting I do like that. Guess Im just a noisey bugger at heart.
  2. For APS parts, yes. If you do a bit of digging around, quite alot of places have the unichip software, so tuning isnt that bad. I desperately need a retune.
  3. Problem being that the company who is now there in place of GForce are not approved APS dealers. I personally wouldnt be taking my car back there even if they were 'approved'. Good quality install, but the rest leaves alot to be desired.
  4. G-Force are no more, you are correct, that leaves only one APS dealer in the UK. Rubbish.
  5. He is afterall travelling a long way to tune a handful of cars, but stuff like that is annoying.
  6. Sounds like Jermaines gonna be swimming with the fishes, horse's head and all that.
  7. Time for some results on this!! too much foreplay! lol
  8. Is there just one decent tuner in this country??? Is that too much to ask?
  9. Hope all this goes well, seems like a nice unit.
  10. Absolutely correct. APS have always said each turbo was capable of 400 bhp, but never had the final piece of the jigsaw to back it up. Until now. Am I going to go for it? Nope! The APS test mule that is kicking out nearly 800 HP is running bigger turbo's than the ones we have. The tuner kit doesnt add any bits to what you've got Mark, in fact they exclude the unichip and fuel system, leaving that upto the end user. The only addition is stiffer wastegate springs.
  11. I think your missing the point there. APS have claimed their kit is safe due to the fact that you can only get authorised dealers to tune it, where as the Greddy kit was blowing kits up left right and centre due to people tuning the car that werent capable. Also a big factor in it, was the shielded crank angle sensor wire (which APS discovered, BTW), which was contributing to alot of safety issues on the Greddy kit. The greddy kit has always been a bit of an incomplete kit, really. They wouldnt even admit that the crank angle issue was causing problems, as alot of guys in the US found. Basically they left alot of the R&D work to the tuners out there, and the guys with knackered engines. The Greddy kit hasnt changed since it came out, just peoples awareness of the shortcomings of the kit. APS have realised that not everyone wants to stick with the ECU that comes with their kit, and no doubt, can get more sales with a tuner kit available. Now that the knowledge out there is greater about the car, it is a safer market place to realease such a kit. I never liked the fact that you have to remove the front impact brace on the car to fit the Greddy, I really cant see insurance people going with that one.
  12. Favourite: APS TT kit. Next: We'll see. Turkey: Kinetix SSV (with TT kit) lost 30bhp over standard and a bit of torque. Increasing boost and retuning couldnt get back lost power over standard plenum.
  13. Used to have the JIC Y pipe, nismo mid pipe. Ditched that ages ago for the APS system.
  14. Its the mid pipe that is the problem, not the Y pipe. Hint of bitchyness there?? thought you were working for harmony, these days??
  15. And the rest, the APS kit for the Scooby to get 400bhp is nearly 10 grand, and that isnt touching the internals, which aint that strong on that car.
  16. For what you listed there, it will break the bank. The exhaust is about double what you can buy it for in the US.
  17. Tuner kit is available from APS now, I believe.
  18. Ha ha, HELL YEAH!!! Havent done this, but I will be looking at one when they are out, defo a contender for the next motor.
  19. Or the day you order a new Skyline
  20. I did say *slightly* more jittery!!! Again, this is down to driving style (aka in my case, ability!). I'm not particularly light footed - I'm very much pedal down and let the car catch up. The Twin Turbo will light up the rears with the slightest blip, and even though this happens with the Supercharger, if you keep to the lower revs the behaviour is much more similar to stock. For those of you with the touch of Jenson Button it won't be an issue, but it would to me. Again, personal preference. I'm gathering by the fact that you didn't pick any holes in the rest of what I said that you agree? Thought I'd jump in with my first post, nevermind all the hello's and introduction bollox! The TT kit doesnt make the car in the slightest bit jittery, and it doesnt light the tyres up with the slightest blip. The car is as docile as you want it to be, only goes quick when you push your foot down! The turbos spool up very quickly and at low rpm, but only if you give the engine full load. I really dont understand all this talk of turbo's being less robust and apparently harder to drive, than the supercharger. The torque curve with the TT kit is almost identical in shape to standard, where the Vortech changes it completely. Right enough, you can get the tyres to spin in 3rd in the wet if you so desire, but only by choice! Think I saw your car when I was last down for a tune, Freetoride. They were mid install, and it ties in with when i was down at Gforce last.
