    Which wheels

Well I paid including delivery as i still have the invoice and tax, £1400 And the dish is HUGE At that price they are superb, quality wheels. Just don't expect to run them through the winter months....
  2. Hi Stu, welcome to the site! Nothing wrong with a bit of caution whilst the weather's crap and you're getting used to it. Enjoy! PS Sig pic looks a bit large - can you reduce it for me? 500x100 max

    Top Speeds

Am i getting this wrong (probably) but isnt the Zed named as the "Zero fighter" as it has no lift? Wouldnt that then make it theroreticaly capable of hitting the limiter at 200mph? I thought the standard car with the small rear spoiler and front lip (UK spec basically ) had zero lift and the Nismo kit was wind tunnel tested to provide downforce for more grip. At least thats the way i thought Nissan explained it on the BMI video? Not sure about that. I thought the Nismo kit (or at least the rear wing) was designed for a computer game and actually has dubious aerodynamic qualities.

    Which wheels

Danny, weight is the biggest issue here and when you are looking going to 19" and wider its easy to see how it can become a problem. Cheap wheels will often be heavy as a result of the materials used to manufacture them. If you're prepared to spend towards the £2k mark there are plenty of forged wheels (as opposed to cast wheels) which will be far lighter, some being lighter in a 19" than the OEM non-Rays wheels were in 18". It isn't quite as simple as forged v cast as my Enkei's are cast yet very light due to the manufacturing process that Enkei use, but as a basic rule forged wheels are the lightest (and most expensive). The most popular forged wheels are Volk by Rays but there are others. Notwithstanding what I've said above, there has been plenty of debate as to whether the extra cost of a forged wheel is worth the extra expense to the average Zed driver. Plenty on here have gone for good value, cast wheels in a 19" without reporting any handling issues or having any complaints whatsoever. If you are tracking the car, I'd say stick with 18" for weight saving. At the other end of the spectrum some of those who have gone 20" with cast wheels have said there was a negative effect on road driving with all the weight. What you do is down to your own priorities and what you want to do aesthetically. HTH
  5. I think the darker anthracite would look well on your car Jonathan +1 Same colour as the Renaultsport ones on the R26 and R27.
  6. How did you get on with this, Derek? whats the matter Digs ? have you got corroding alloys OEM ones, yes. Have you seen my thread including letter to MD of NMGB bud.......? No, but I'll have a look now.

  10. Will he be Lianne when its finished???
  11. Good work, fella. That's one clean looking Zed you've got there. Welcome to the site.
  12. Looking good, Phil. All the best with it.
  13. Just want to second this. The guys did a stirling job and its quite obvious that they have a real pride in what they do - a rare thing these days. Anyone out of warranty would do well to consider these guys for servicing.
  14. I've been running these for 4 months or so and have no complaints. Subjectively, bite and stopping power have both increased but they remain progressive. Of course, they were fitted after the OEM ones were pretty shot so they did feel fantastic at first. Only downsides are that I have had a bit of an issue with squealing, although that's pretty much settled now, and despite being billed as low dust they still produce plenty - less than OEM though and I suspect less than Redstuff's. HTH
  15. Wasn't it his headlight washers he did? BigPhil's car from this thread. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= Both right - cheers Guy!
  16. Must admit it does look stunning but a 5litre engine thats slower than a 3.8 litre engine, Id rather save on fuel and pay for a 3.8 and be quicker Isn't that a bit like saying you'd take the 2.0 from a FQ340 over the 3.5 from the Zed?
  17. ...only in the looks stakes. The LF-A was possibly the most stunning car I saw at Geneva this year. Photos really don't it justice. The detailing is exquisite. No way it will be as focussed or capable as the Nissan though.
  18. Front cover of the calendar anyone? Stunning!
  19. With a 300 bhp RWD going into winter, I'd disagree. Have you got anything solid other than brand prejudice to back up what you're saying? Yep: Smart-arse!

    GT-R

Wouldn't of thought its the gearing as both use an almost identical double clutch system. Odd. I don't think he means the method of changing gears but the actual gearing. Ratio's Fair enough but at nearly 300kg's heavier and less power to beat the 0-60 time by 0.5 seconds is sensational if its true. I look forward to TG getting one for an opinion outside of Nissan. Its in the latest TG mag but I think only subscribers can get their hands on it so far. I mean on the telly, where we can see and hear it go round their track Oh aye, I betting it looks a damn sight better moving than it does in the pics.
