  1. Easier still is to buy Mark's [urbanmyth] already converted immaculate 350Z TT APS. He posts on here. Maybe a deal can be done between you. Allan
  2. The BHP is not what breaks these engines. They usually break when they run over 420Lb-ft torque. Most have failed at or above these levels. The torque in isolation does not do it but it does not help matters. Allan

    Top Speeds

I ran 193 MPH three weeks ago at Bruntingthorpe on a V-Max day in a Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet. It is a big fat 1660kg 4wd soft top too ! It had around 550 BHP and 580 Lb-ft and we had a 10-12 MPH gusting wind coming in from left front ! So on a wind free day I expect we would have run 195 MPH. I know Rod Tarry's tuner [Mark from MA Developments] Allan

    Top Speeds

Okay here's one for the really technical/ dynamics guys out there :- If we had a 350Z with a fully built engine, churning out around 600 BHP & 600 Ft-lbs. With no top speed limiter, how fast do we think it will go on standard gearing ? Assume a 2 mile runway. BTW it will rev easily to 7000 in 5th so can safely assume 7000 in 6th with top speed limiter removed. I believe it will run c185 MPH. Could we assume with a 3.2:1 diff will it run 200 MPH ???? Allan
  5. Hi as the heading. Any one have a 350Z with APS TT kit installed for sale ? Cheers Allan email to uktrucks at msn dot com

    de cat

Andy It is inadvisable to decat a 350Z with APS TT kit on it. Please leave it alone. Allan
  7. IIRC the kits all have different part numbers on the dealer ordering form, thereby suggesting differences in the make up of the kit. Why the need to buy from USA anyway ? No real savings to be had by this route. Cheers Allan
  8. I do believe that the exhaust manifolds are completely different, along with turbo oil feed etc. It has been done but does add time & money to achieve the desired results. Then you still need it tuned etc. My advice is to buy a completed installation from either DSA or Garage Mac. DSA replaced G-Force and Garage Mac is Jamie from WRC who carried out 6 x installations. oIL

On a N/A engine that has had Forced Induction added, the least grade of oil that I would like to see used is 15w50 Mobil One or 10w60 Castrol Edge. I am not an oil expert, however this engine is experiencing cylinder pressures far greater than it used to, so good oil is a necessity. Flirt you do drive yours reasonably hard so get rid of the 0w40 as soon as is practical please. Cheers Allan ps Jamie has set up on his own near where we were. Trades as Garage Mac and he can look after the car for you from now on. Contact him at garagemac@aol.co.uk

Flirt It would have had 10w60 in it when it left us. You should use this or 10w or 15w50 at the least. Change every 4000 miles or so. Please ensure that is not overfull ! The old minimum is the new maximum on the dipstick. You have my personal email, use it please and I will always help Cheers Allan
  11. Glad your happy. Sorry I wasnt there. Got back at 4 and you were long gone. Cheers Big Al
  12. Nick it calcs to 1.18 bar so 1.2 is close enough ! Cheers Big Al
  13. Hiya Mark We have 2 x APS TT installs started today on std engines. We are poised and ready for you to give us the go ahead. Are you up for Cosworth short block on yours ? Allan
  14. We would like to thank Nick for allowing us to build this car for him. It was a pleasure working with him through all of the stages, looking at what we thought would work based on past experience, what the mighty internet says will / should work, sifting out the crap and of course balancing all of this within a budget and of course Nick's desires. Whilst the car still has a few small items to be attended to, it has turned out as good as we were expecting on all fronts. Nick's own input was considerable, we were comfortable with this, he is one of very few people with my own personal mobile number. We are equally happy to provide a written estimate along with gant chart planning for those that want a true "turn key solution". Cheers Allan
