  1. Hi and welcome! The folk here span the whole age range so no-one looks out of place. Sign up and enjoy!
  2. Thanks - and would be nice to see how they look in close up when fitted IMHO a little disappointing compared to the look of the rest of the system, which is . whats disappointing ? the look of the restrictors ? Yup. Only to my eyes and these things are subjective, but the small exits and the prominent bolts mean that I wouldn't want to have them in too often - probably just long motorway journeys. It wouldn't put me off though and II'm still seriously considering one.

  4. Coming form an MR2 it will be very practical - its even got a boot!
  5. Its very difficult to say whether my commute was similar but it was around the same miles and a mix of motorway and surburban crawl between traffic lights. MPG was consistently between 23 and 24, worse in the winter from cold starts. Where to buy from depends on your budget and therefore the age of cars you're looking at. Buying privately from here is likely to land you a well looked after example that you can trace the history of. Alternatively, bigphil, one of our traders may be able to help you find a good example - what he doesn't know about Zeds isn't worth knowing and his reputation is impecable. Personally, I'd probably keep to Nissan stealers during the warranty period (its not strictly necessary but Nissan aftercare is pants and warranty work will be much easier to sort if you have a Nissan service history) but after that I would avoid them like the plague and would go to local performance car specialist. Wouldn't let the local greas-monkey near it though.... HTH
  6. Darn, I've gone and blown my nice even number! Whore, moi?
  7. IIRC the smoothed arches on his first Zed were cracking so he may not want to go that way. The seats do look great, don't they. What spacers are behind the Volks to fill the arches, Phil? Look just about perfect to me.

    Spacers question

Ah, but its done through a Nissan dealer who will probably sell it on their forecourt when its returned. I expect it to pretty obvious if they take the wheels off... If its an improvement, they probably won't mind. I like the idea but if they can extort money out me I'm sure they'll pretend they care. Cynical, moi?
  9. Wow, just wow!!! Please, please, please lose the graphics though.
  10. ....just to show mods can whore too!!! :kicking
  11. Yay, Flirt!!! Will be good to have you with us, mate.
  12. Niiiiiiiice!!!! Are you sure about the rear wing? I think it looks well as it is. Less is more and all that.

    Spacers question

Ah, but its done through a Nissan dealer who will probably sell it on their forecourt when its returned. I exect it to pretty obvious if they take the wheels off... only 1/2 hr to remove them mate probably less if leave it overnight in st johns This is the issue though - I've been told that the old studs have to be removed and replaced by the longer studs, rather than how I've suggested it could be done in my last post. Surely, replacing the studs isn't a half hour job or am I being told porkies?

    Spacers question

I was planning on going for the Eibach hubcentric ones like ir_fuel's which are also TUV approved. Its the practicalities of actually putting them on that I don't understand. If I bolt it to the hub and the original studs poke through they will be too short - that's why they come as standard with longer studs. Now if the longer studs are attached to the spacer and the old studs go through the additional holes, are there indentations in the back of the rim to allow clearance for the old studs, as the new studs will go through the holes in the rim and then the nuts on to them? Does that make any sense to anyone????

    Spacers question

OK, so I'm getting a bit pee'd off looking at the shocking offsets of the rear Rays and I can't afford new rims (and have reluctantly sold my old 19" ones) so my mind turned to spacers. I remember ir_fuel having Eibach Pro-spacers fitted to his and it transformed the looks for me. My problem is that anything I do has to be completely reversible in 15 months time when the car goes back. Has anyone fitted spacers and can confirm what's required. I think the old studs need drilling out and longer ones fitting. How reversible is that and what's the chances of the original studs being damaged when they are removed? Any first hand views (rather than just "spacers wreck your wheel bearings") would be appreciated.
