  10. Measure how thick 350z paint and compare it to other similar cars and you will find there is a significant amount of paint not there on the 350zs i.e. 20/30%+ Ok , well how come my newly painted bumper with at least 3 extra coats still chips?? just the same as on other cars I have owned..I'm convinced its just the shape and lowness of these sort of cars,, Stone chips are something we will have to live with .Mind you like I said before if you drive like an old woman you wont pick up as many.. I see this phenomenon a lot on motorcycles, some are plastered with chip while others are mint ,all down to the style of driving, what roads are being used regularly and if the rider has been in fast company I think on the Zeds if you use the motorways regularly chips are going to be a way of life
  11. sounds like the syncro on its way out, wont be a cheap job If your going to have it repaired probably cheaper to look for a S/H gearbox from a breaker.... mind you no guarantees that that will be any better
  12. Nah no clearance problems with the diff
  13. Good point , as the mating suface is very critical and the last thing you want is an air leak there
  14. untried seller though, caution as always required
  15. Rob just had my front bumper painted and its covered in chips already. , nothing to do with paint quality, just the frontal aspect of the car.I had similar issues with a Porsche that got covered in chips, certainly nothing wrong with their paint process People keep going on about paint quality ,it's a load of bull.. most low sports cars with flatish front spoiler are always going to pick up chips..fact of life.. Answer is to drive really slow at least 100 yards from the car in front at all times
  16. its aluminium alloy, I would be carefull about getting it chromed as you may have issues with it flaking on the alloy, also it has a rough sand cast finish that would have to be polished / ground away before the plating process could begin

  18. make sure you get it fitted correctly , I have seen a couple of these Nismo systems fitted with one outlet higher than another
  19. Same here. I reported damaged paintwork on my front bumper. The Nissan engineer came out to look at it and said "yep well fix that for you" Took it to the local main dealers and to cut a long story short, on the day I was to take it in they told me they would only paint half the bumper and made me pay for the other half £175 as far as I recall. I got my bumper sprayed for £150 , they are taking the p1ss yeah but he did make you drive around in a boxter for a while. Should of got it cheaper very true.....I'll get me coat
