I had the same problem , although on a different car (Jeep Grand Cherokee) turned out the heating elements in the seat had broken down,well known fault .. unfortunately for me just out of the Jeep warrant and would have cost £200 / seat to sort (never bothered after being told that )
no laquer equired or else it will turn into Gloss black finish , unless you get a satin finish laquer..
if you do this Val , make sure you get all the original silver finish off, as it will react with the new paint you put on
Nah there dangerous , I was following Val sometime or other and when the brake lights come on you can hardly see them in the daylight, you'll end up being hit up the arse
