Typically what should I aim to get it done for - in the region of 1.5%? Sounds about right dorian.. any less than that and you've done well.. last time I sold some property managed to get a fixed price (not a percentage ) but got less work rate from them

you can claim back euro VAT( France , Belguim etc. ) but then you would be charged UK vat on entry to this country.. in practice you just pay the vat in the country you buy the goods from, and dont get charged it in this country... this only applies to Euro zone countries .. Not USA etc..
