    A car

Off to see this car in a bit. Anyone know It? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201215463348016/sort/default/usedcars/colour/black/model/350_z/make/nissan/page/2/postcode/se14eq/radius/1500?logcode=p Also, what were the service intervals on post 2006 cars? This one has had only 3 services.

    Synchromesh

Thanks Danny, I think I looked at that thread but wasn't sure of what it would cost fitted.

    Synchromesh

Sorry for the post chaps but a quick search didn't come up with the answer I'm looking for. One of the cars I'm considering has a crunching when being shifted into fifth though the clutch itself is intact. Ish. How much to change/ fix one, including labour? I'm not looking for a precise number, a ballpark figure would be fine. Also, approximately how much for a new clutch and flywheel fitted?
  5. If that was Black, I'd be at yours picking it up right now! Good luck with the sale. Someone is going to get a very nice motor.

    A little help

Hm, I seriously doubt it's his house. But thanks for your useful response. Haha ok slightly more useful response. The first car has standard (heavier) alloys whereas the second has the forged Rays alloys which are quite sought after and it also has a spoiler and a Pop Charger Both have new HU's The 2nd one 'sounds' like it has been cherished more and the owner seems to know a little about the car but hard to tell until you actually go and see them. A 2004 car even with fairly low mileage would have to be in pretty mint condition to warrant £9k really... Thanks Dave. I agree the second one looks a little better on paper but didn't understand how it is close to 2K better. I do want one with Rays but then how much are a set of Rays with tyres? Having done the pop charger in the past, I wasn't most impressed. Also had the Nismo spoiler and now that i'm older (Oh god!) don't want one with it. I'll have a chat with both sometime in the week and go from there. Has anyone on here ever had a Pre-purchase inspection done? Having bought and sold a few nice cars (and looked at many lemons along the way) I have a general idea of what to look for and am usually happy getting down on all fours anor sliding under a car but having a professional look at it would be handy. Thanks Jetset, my gut feeling is that it is overpriced too. But i haven't been tracking prices and didn't seem to come across as someone talking prices down whilst purchasing.

  8. Does anyone know any of these cars? And do they seem priced realistically? Any suggestions, comments, advice welcome. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3699508.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3708551.htm Owned by an enthusiast previously? Anyone on here? There is a difference in mileage ( but then they're both about 8 years old!) but does that justify the significant price difference?
  9. Linky please for iPad people. Skis? Hm, can you fit them in your Z?
  10. Thanks for the welcome guys! Anyone know the answer to my ski question? Or anyone in Nottingham or Derby who'd be happy to let me try to see if skis fit?
  11. What can I say? I'm an oldie returning to say hello and ask a lot of silly questions! Owned a Z for a couple of years a long time ago and then went through some other motors before ending up with The Green Goblin. Im terms of excitement, it is as far away from it's name as I am from being able to bed a different supermodel every night. Having gone through my journey of self discovery , I think it might be time to return to the performance car fold. My requirements are simple. 1. Fun to drive 2. Uncommon 3. Subtle colour 4. Can carry my skis on short trips (for eg., to the airport) My shortlist this far has led me to 3 cars. The E46 M3, the Honda S2000 and the 350Z. They all have their pros and cons. Some have more cons than pros. I'm unsure of what to go for. My questions to current Z owners are: 1. Can I fit a pair (or two) of skis in it? Won't have a passenger when I do. 2. Roof racks. Yay or nay? And are they available? 3. Does anyone know of a good Kuro or Ebisu car with GT pack and less than 50K miles for sale? Preferably standard though wouldn't say no to a sensibly modified car. Thanks!
  12. At the last trip to the 'ring, David and myself got talking about how it would be real nice to grab hold of an instructor (who knows the 'ring well) for instruction there for a day. Both F and me thought of the one man we had instruction from and knew the 'ring (The only man I know who could prob go under 8'30" in a Mondeo!!!!)........Colin! Some of you may or may not know him from havinmg had training with him at Millbrook. The man is pretty fantastic. Seeing as it's quite intense (the whole lapping business), to be able to make the most of instruction it would e best to share a day or two with him between, say, 5 - 6 people. I had a chat with Jo today and found out that this is indeed possible and now would like to know who would be interested. The earliest we can organise this is mid-August. The day can be structured to suit our requirements, but generally involves Colin taking us out in the Mondeo, followed by 1 - 1 instruction for 1 - 2 laps at a time. Please post your interest here. Shipping question

Thanks Stew. Think it might be personalshipper.com though.
  14. Just bought some wheels off someone for the Pork (after promising myself I wouldnt spend anything in wheels) and need them shipped from Kent to moi. Is there a company anyone knows of or can recommend that will pick them up from his address and deliver? Thanks in advance.
  15. You really shouldnt post pics of your sis up ...these guys will be all over her like flies. She single?
  16. Carlo, Im going. Will be at the 'ring on the 10th - 12th. Not going on to Spa this time, Im afraid. Wander over and say hi if you see me, I'll be in a red 996 GT3, my reg. no. should link the car to me quite easily. Anyone else going??? R
  17. Thats a lovely car Dash. Well looked after too. Good luck with the sale.
  18. Nope!!! I have been here for quite a long time!!! I joined the "old" forum in December 2004 iirc.ish.
  19. I think I joined about the same time. Im sure once I post, I will be proven wrong.
  20. Probably. Im guessing its a shampoo and dry job on that one. I can ask him for you if you want.
  21. Sorry Mark, I was talking about the 911. Apparently does not damage the paint when taken off.
  22. Mike, its not paint. Its a vinyl.

    cost

Weight loss + suspension should be a great place to start. But then weight loss does come at a (significant) price in terms of cost, comfort etc. TBH, if you want to beat him, best money to be spent is not in the power upgrade department, but in the driver training department. Unless you are a truly gifted driver this will help you no end. And remember, any monkey can drive quickly in a straight line, its the curves where skill (and the Z) comes in.
