  1. Thanks, the roof system is not something you can just get fixed at the garage either, it is clear garages avoid them.
  2. Well I need to own up to the fact my roof has stopped working, I believe it is/could be something different this time..... Recently fitted a replacement 5th Bow Motor and got mine working, worked for a week and now something else has gone wrong. The windows dropped and passenger seat moved then the rear of the roof unlatched but then nothing, the rear of my roof is stuck in a slightly open position, cannot push it back down either. These Roadsters have a lot more gadgetry to the roof than I realised, I would love to find out if someone has converted fully over to a manual operation. There is a lot to go wrong I have now discovered. Must be a way to take away the sensors and motor functions and create some kind of manual option. Love these "Z" Roadsters, but not this element, my old school manual operating convertibles had a lot going for them. HELP!!!!!!!!
  3. Welcome on board, I do like that colour too. Every so often you should get the roadster roof mechanism etc serviced, most never do and things can go wrong. There are specialists around who do just that for all makes and they clear out drain channels as well as lubricate all the right bits.
  4. Thanks, it was a fiddle and took weeks and weeks to get to the bottom of it but wow was it worth it..
  5. I am sooooooo happy right now, (might not last), but after never being able to open the roof since I bought my Z earlier in the year I got alot of help from ZMANALEX on here and after lots of searching around ordered a 5th Bow Motor through him. Also ordered another UK one from a decent guy on Facebook in Cumbria who also sold me one as I thought best to have a spare one of these after all I have learnt. Came this morning and fitted it, and LIFT OFF everything seems to work.
  6. Got hold of an Auto Glym Headlight Restoration Kit, for under £30 and a little bit of time my cloudy headlights look so much better, really pleased with what you get in the kit and the clear instructions. Much cheaper than buying a pair if Headlights. Also fitted a black new black stainless steel grill by Zunsport that I got from Tarmac Sportz, gives more protection to the radiator and oil cooler and looks better IMHO, need to be careful ordering one of these, a few options not just colour/finish. Also added some decent locking wheel nuts, realised mine didn't have anything on....
  7. Colour is all personal choice, the main thing is what you like, if you had each one a different colour and liked it then that's fine - but I wouldn't like it then
  8. Welcome on board, and yes I am liking your wheels too.
  9. Changed the Aerial as I felt it was too big, plus seems to get in the way, the replacement is neat and I never listen to the radio just my music. Before and after pictures.
  10. Also as I like the satin finish and design elements that copy on from the Rays I changed the front and rear badges from the Chrome Nissan to the Satin Z with those design elements. Keeping the original badges though just in case...
  11. The spacers make a real difference, fill the arches better. I actually prefer the smaller wheel allowing more tyre, big wheels and low profiles don't work on the roads around here and also I like the old school muscle car look..
  12. Looks like you can order one from Smoothline, not cheap and delivery costs over from the States would make the whole thing very expensive.
  13. As I don't have too much hair on my head I do have to be careful when out in a convertible, even when the Sun is hiding! I am based in the Clanfield area of Hampshire and looking forward to some Spring and Summer runs and gatherings if there are any around, will keep a look out. ZMANALEX on this forum is helping me out with the roof, when I get a window I am feeding back the info and Alex is kindly being patient and advising what to check next, got to get the Passenger seat up to check connections underneath there next... Cannot afford any fancy wheels just yet, and I do like my original Rays even though they are the smaller 17" Import version. So took some advice as the wheels looked out of proportion and now have some 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers from Tarmac and the stance is much better.
  14. Just recently bought my first Z and for me it had to be the Roadster, always wanted one and no regrets so far. Mines a 2003 350z first imported in 2007 with the last owner for 13 years, sounds and runs so nice. Cannot remember the last time I have seen one on my travels, even when the sun is shining.
  15. Do these fit the 17" Rays on a Japanese Imported 350z? Interested in a set if they do please?
  16. I fancy a pair of these please too, in satin, what's the current price and P&P please?
  17. Your 370Z looks soooo nice, as do most to be fair! Interesting you went for spacers, changes the stance for little effort and expense, thinking about them myself but you hear many don't recommend them. Your shine is so good you can see the photo taker on the rear bumper.
  18. Welcome on board from another "newbie" in Hampshire, these are great cars for the money, loving my Roadster even though the roof doesn't work (yet)! I like your colour, looks tidy from he photo's but definitely need fluids and perishables looking at and changing if it's been sitting for awhile. Notice your forum name is sheddriver, doesn't look like you are driving a shed there.
  19. Thanks folks for the welcomes, yes I have always liked the colour, just a little different, and I have been told it is the fastest colour...
  20. You may not even get a fine with points, you may be offered a "Speed Awareness Course", still get fined but no points. It happened to me, I was on the A3 heading south on a stretch I know well and a mobile van got me!
