  1. I think there are 119 mk1 nismos plus 3 sorned( apparently) in the uk.don't know colours though- I know for a fact that 1 of them is white
  2. Don't worry Payco, my wash mitt and drying towel are treated as my 2nd and 3rd most looked after possessions. Will try the Poorboys interior cleaner though, i seem to have a white powdery residue on the door cards that's stubborn.( I'm a bit worried as to exactly what the white powder is....) Back to the OP though-Sirius, if you are going to get the car valeted and simply want to do a "maintenance wash" in between a valet, then still do as everyone has said. Minimum 2 buckets with grit guards,a decent shampoo, plus a decent mitt and drying towel will see you through. Having just shelled out on a sweet Nismo the last thing you want to do is wash it with fairy liquid, with a sponge, using a dirty bucket! Edit, Payco, do you mean:-http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/poorboys/natural-look-interior-dressing.aspx?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=MerchantCentre&variant=1439&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImcSBrq2c3AIVQkAbCh3SDgHdEAQYASABEgLlkfD_BwE
  3. I'll just treat my new car to a new sponge to keep it clean.... A large chunk of change later.... Many people will have favourite products, there are a lot out there. Personally i tried the Bilt Hamber Auto Wash that recommends you only use 1 teaspoon per v large bucket( please say that you are using the 2 bucket method-if not 3??) anyway, one teaspoon of the concentrate does indeed make enough bubbles and washes nicely I went for the G-techniq adhesive and tar remover, G-techniq g6 glass cleaner . Korrosil fallout remover. Opted to go for a clay mitt rather than a clay bar and valet Pro citrus for clay lub/ final panel wipe. G-Techniq wash mitt. Bilt Hamber double speed waxtakes a deep breath...forget the name of the drying towel, but it's big and it er, dries the car really well, a pack of 20 MF cloths, a brush for the fiddly bits..AND, still debating what to clean my pipes with, so will order something when i order some Valet Pro Citrus bling as a pre wash. Practiced on the other half's car first, she was mightily impressed. "It looks brand new" she said. Anyway, it all began with needing a new sponge...
  4. Welcome, owning the same i know you will enjoy it:-) I genuinely didn't expect the positive reaction the car gets. I regularly get tooted followed by either a thumbs up, a " give it some revs" gesture or more often than not a simple nod of the head and a "nice". I don't think i would get those reactions should i have gone the Cayman route...( apologies if a can of worms has just been opened!)
  5. I hate to burst Porsche's bubble, but the video has been doctored:-( If you check at exactly 4:23 you can clearly see where Sabine Shmitz overtakes him in a mk2 transit-they missed a split second when splicing the footage...
  6. If you think £40 odd a month for 370 road tax is bad, wait til you get to the petrol pump.... I looked at many different cars for almost 18 months before finally ending up in my 370. I looked at all factors from insurance/tax/petrol/residuals etc then ignored them and went for what i thought would be the most fun
  7. Let's be honest, England will have arrived home at least a week before the final :-(
  8. Mine wasn't quite that bad (mk1 370 nismo)- is it just a nismo thing?? however, after spending 1) a small fortune on cleaning products, and 2) several hours using said products on the exterior, its time to look at cleaning under the bonnet. I had a quick clean yesterday, but having just got home today-(the engine bay is still warm) i swiped my finger through the marks and they smeared just like when you use tar remover. not sure what it is tbh. i will try some tar remover on it and let you know.
  9. Put me down as a "more than likely"! Going to Fitted UK the next day(Sunday) so can only do the day. The other half says she fancies a ride out, so that's me +1:-) White 370Z-currently debating a personalised reg so will post it if/when i get it. Didn't get chance to chat much at Japfest, so will be nice to have a chat to you all. Edit- 2 for the museum!
  10. Only had a chance to chat to a couple of folks:-( Decided to leave early due to being extremely sun burnt:-( On getting home my lad checked his step counter app thingy- we had done 18,000 steps-equivalent to 12k! i think we had covered every car/stand :-) It was however a great day:-)
  11. Cheers Daz. VDC light sorted. despite brake fluid level being midway between low and high marks, topping it up solved the issue;-) Bonnet adjustment also sorted-simply popped the retainer off the bonnet and gave the latch a 540 degree turn-took all of 30 seconds!
  12. Don't worry Martinw- i was worried that a) i would be the only one attending in an unmodified z and b ) that everyone else would be saying, "oh dear you haven't bought that have you?"
  13. Morning folks, brief history then a couple of questions.... 12months ago a simple brief was outlined. New car-must be different-fun-fast(ish) and affordable...Also will be a daily driver! The candidates:- Mini GP edition(2010)-love the thunder grey colour but only 2 seats when there is space for 4 Abarth biposte-again with the seats so... Abarth 595 -no fear of looking like having a mid life crisis in one:-) i love them but people asked if i was buying for my wife:-( BMW Z4 -fear of looking like having a mid life crisis... Audi TT cracking car but very common. My kids used to play "yellow bash" on car journeys- first to see a yellow car and say er " yellow bash" gets a point.most points at the end of said journey wins. If we had played TT bash and or Mini bash they might have both got A* on their GCSE maths... Audi S5 again like the TT, cracking car but common-- on a side note there is a Voodoo Blue RS7 near here, what a colour:-) Focus RS 09/10 plate-sadly prices have gone up by £3k on avg last year so:- New(er) RS- like the blue but sadly way out of my price range, surprisingly common 'round here( or is it just the same one following me.....) Toyota GT86 Aero-very rare, looks gorgeous, low mileage ones available and affordable:-) - already looking at mods prior to purchase:-( 370z in the light blue colour ( if i had even been aware of the utterly gorgeous Black rose/Cherry??? things might have been different) In the end it boiled down to 2- a Red GT86 aero or the obvious seeing as I've joined a 350/370 forum... Hoping to get to Japfest:-) Onto the questions:- 1. Under cheeky acceleration the (!) warning light comes on. Driving up a steep hill the(VDC car icon with 2 skids!) comes on-is that an indication of low brake fluid level? 2. the bonnet is closed/shut but the front corner doesn't sit quite right, is it just a case of needing some slight adjustment?? Thanks for reading folks
