  1. Hi all, Hoping for some advice on here as struggling to find concise answers when googling! Basically, I'd like to upgrade my alarm to increase functionality/modernise my '58 plate 350 - I'd like to unlock the car and for the side lights to come on, to be able to open and close the windows from the fob and a remote start would be nice. Ultimately I want to get rid of the old key and get a flip key in it's place - Have ordered a Mica replacement flip key for £7 I'll try to transplant to, but after having the lights on unlock on my other car I find myself wanting it on this one! Has any one got after market alarm, did it decrease insurance, hard to fit etc? Cheers, Ryan
  2. Di Did you keep the standard orange LED's on the steering wheel controls? I'd like to change mine to red but unsure what size LEDs to get!
  3. Cheers - Still work in progress as there's a slight gap by the reflectors but with a bit of heat and better glue it'll be flush! Just got to decide which skirts to get now!
  4. I installed mine last night - I used more screws than the 2 that came with it (definitely not enough!) and gorilla tape. The gorilla tape was a waste of time, I need to find an alternative but it wasn't too bad to install - Though I would use a heat gun. I used this video as a reference as it's exactly the same from what I can see. The self tappers underneath are a must imo: I sprayed mine gloss black, pics don't show it off too well but..
  5. Hadn't even considered that, thanks! I was looking at: https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/xtreme-clutch-nissan-350z-z33-vq35hr-engine-370z-z34-vq37hr-engine-05-clutches.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2MPK7pr_1QIVb7XtCh3BdAWhEAYYASABEgIUsfD_BwE Though I'm no mechanic or seasoned modder, other than what I've seen on google, youtube and these forums I have very little knowledge so unsure if it's worth going for the ceramic upgrades, just the lightweight fly or the whole kit or if I'm better to spend my money elsewhere? My clutch is fine, I changed the bite point as per one of the guides on this forum which has made it much nicer to drive. It does rattle in neutral and when I turn the engine off already, a lightweight fly may add to that from what I've researched but worth it for the gains!
  6. So, I've got the car back and the only sign there was any damage is the wheel (which I've not sorted yet) and the inside lip of the rear arch (which got mullered). That's getting sorted soon but other than that the paint match is spot on and it's looking and driving as normal.. Relief to have it back but that's £1k less I've got to spend on the mods I wanted but maybe I should have though of that before getting complacent/cocky and turning off traction control before I knew how to drive the thing! I'll be getting some training days for sure.. I did it on my motorbike before I started pushing that, not sure why I thought it wasn't neccesary on a 3.5 v6 rwd that I'd never driven before?! Lesson well and truly learned :/ Got some spacers on it now too, list of mods to do now are (after wheel repair/replacement): Berks HFC Xtreme clutch - From what I've read it improves the drive (opinions welcome!) Invidia cat back... decision decisions! Engine map Dash lights (want to change them from the dull orange to a bright red to modernise it a bit). I've also got some pearl white vinyl on order to do the centre console - Once all that's done I'll look at swapping out the HU/Sat Nav I think.. But got a holiday to pay for and my ST TDCi to sell first! Cheers to all for the advice on this thread - Was in a pit of despair when I posted this, was a real relief to read some of the responses!
  7. You got pics of DRL and splitter mate? I'm trying to decide which way to go on mine!
  8. Yea but as it's the whole side my guy should be able to fade it in nicely on the corners (I'm hoping!) - Taking it in on Wednesday to get sorted, I've used this guy before when someone smashed in to the side of my ST which was Deep Impact Blue (pearlescenty colour too) and he did a good job on that so, fingers crossed!
  9. Rear wheel has but if a flat spot and damaged, front has a tiny scuff. aligment on front is spot on but back is slightly out - costing £120 probably which seems steep to fix it but they let me get under the car and check it all. All but the W brace look fine so I'll need to get that sorted too! if anyone's selling a single 18" rays gt let me know!!
  10. Nice one, that's reassuring tbh - Appreciate the quick response. I'll be straight to the body shop in the morning!! So gutted.. Was a big, open and empty road and thought I finally had a chance to open it up! Turning traction control off was my first mistake :/
  11. As title says, less than a week ownership of a great example of a 2008 350z in pearl white and... I the back end and ended up sideways in to a central reservation... First RWD car, was testing with out traction control on and the below is the result. To say I'm gutted is an under statement. But with my tail thoroughly between my legs, I'm hoping to get some advice on here if possible? I know they don't sell the rear quarter panels as bolt on and so I'll need to get it cut out if I get second hand... I can't find one second hand (unless I get modded arches, which I don't want to do)! I know it's hard to tell from the pictures, and I'm pretty sure it won't be.. But, I wonder if this is repairable with out replacing panels? I feel like the door arch could be knocked back, filled and painted but it's the inside of the panel that I think may be problematic. I don't want to cut corners here, I want it done right to do justice to the car! Front arch is just a bit scuffed and just needs painting. The door is only bent right at the end, not sure if that's repairable? The whole side needs a spray.. so worried about getting a good paint match too! I feel like a prize **** but just want to get it sorted ASAP so any advice or pointing in the direction of parts is massively appreciated. Cheers, Ryan
  12. Here's another guide to the buster fix:

    Stillen front lip

Thanks for that! I ended up ordering a GT front lip from tarmac - Slightly anxious about it as not seen one in person and concerned may be a bit "chunky" for my taste but with the damage on the understand I thought it was most cost effective and straight forward way to fit one - I'd like to get it sorted asap too, I don't like the OEM hanging down as it's only a matter of time before it catches and tears the rest of it off! Fingers crossed!

    Stillen front lip

Yea I've done that a lot for pics was more just trying to see if I 100% need the fastener turn buckle things and if so options and any advice for mounting them! current oem lip bit has ripped off it turns out - pics attached but also wondering how this will affect fitment!
  15. Great guide! I do have a question regards to bluetooth voice though - Is this separate to the bose head unit? Ideally I'd like to keep bluetooth and utilise existing microphone etc but unsure if that's possible if I swap out the head unit? Also, are there any considerations to make for DAB radio? I've not done any ICE for over a decade so a bit rusty to say the least Did you earth it?

    Z prices

I recently purchased a Z and I specifically looked for ones that were as close to stock as possible - Steering wheel changes really put me off so agree with comments on that. Definitely agree with it looking flat - The pictures taken of it outside don't help it, the interior ones are much better so would perhaps re-take those. I would personally focus less on the mods in the advert, put the year and more attention to details (how many keys, FSH, MOT, including private plate). Pictures of alloys also help to show how much curbage! Where else are you advertising? I've had most luck on piston heads & ebay, I've sold a mk4 golf gt tdi, leon FR and (hopefully) a focus ST from those. Had the least amount of luck from autotrader tbh.
  17. Hi all, I'm looking to get a front lip on my recently purchased '58 plate Z - I like the look of the Stillen front lips: https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/stillen-nissan-350z-07-08-front-splitter-oem-fascia.html but I don't want to be drilling to fit the turnbuckles. Does any one know if these can be fitted without the turn buckle, or can I attach these to the grill instead of straight on to the body work? Alternatively if there's any glue or anything I can use to attach it that won't damage the paint? I like the look of them but I'm only looking to do bolt on exterior mods to be honest, reluctant to drill holes! If any one has any pictures of one of these fitted could they upload them please? Cheers Ryan
  18. Nice one, cheers guys! Drove it home today, love it so far but need to get music streaming via bluetooth as a priority before I do anything else!
  19. Hi all, I have been lurking around these and other forums, reading up on 350z bits for months now... I'm picking up my 58 plate HR 350z GT 313 in pearl white tomorrow! - Massively excited by this and have been researching mods etc I want to do for when I do get a Zed, but I just feel like I I'm just lost in a world of acronyms and other things I don't understand! I'm not oblivious to cars/engines but if I'mpart of the reason for getting this Zed is to mod it and improve my knowledge... I'm a measure twice cut once kinda guy and as I don't think I've yet got the best mod lists and order down yet, I was hoping for some help in choosing what to do to the car. For styling I'd like to put a front mines lip, stillen skirts and not decided on spats/diffuser yet... That's really all I'm looking for at the moment I think - From what I've read, I believe these are bolt on, is this correct? I live in Bristol so humps bumps and hills are part of driving - I'd love to lower the car but I can see that tearing off the front lip I want on a weekly basis so looked in to air lift, I know this isn't cheap (3-4k from my reading) but is it reversible or am I going to need to drill loads of holes etc? Most important for me - Engine wise the general consensus from what I'm reading is to go for the breathing mods such as panel filters, exhaust systems and plenum spacers, then a re-map. What re-maps are available and would be generally advised? I was thinking the ARCmap but there seem to be a few options around this with pops and bangs and what not. There are also so many exhausts to choose from but I've not heard enough to know what they sound like! For me, performance is priority - I'm a buy cheap buy twice man so want to get the best option for the car! I guess I'd like to be able to return the car back to stock eventually, so I want to keep this in mind but if it's in the way of the mods I want to do, that could well go out the window lol. Finally - Does any one have any garages around the Bristol area they recommend? No problem travelling farther afield for quality though, but would be nice to have it local! Any advice given is massively appreciated - Looking forward to joining on meets etc! Cheers! Ryan
  20. So after loads of searching, I found one I wanted that ticks all my boxes! FSH, 42k miles, 313 GT with all the options.. Picking it up in a few weeks.. can't wait! Only negative point I could find are some scuffs on the interior door handle, but I've seen this on pretty much all of the 350z's I've looked at. I'm sure I'll be able to respray it easy enough?! PS - Selling 2015 Focus ST TDCi, deep impact blue 30k miles!
  21. This is an issue I've heard can crop up quite a lot - How much did this fix cost you?
  22. I'd been on their site a lot and regularly watching eBay cars from j17 and was planning a trip up in 2 weeks.. I've cancelled the trip now, glad I took the time to read this post. Has any one had any experience with EVO motors in Wiltshire?
  23. Nice one, cheers Jay - Exactly why I asked (severe lack of knowledge on my part!!).
  24. He says it's 56 plate with the new engine (HR). The KwikFit services did worry me tbh, also not had one in a while! Will see if it's still on there in few weeks and may have a look.. Not a fan of the foot well lights (or the orange seats) tbh!
