  1. Been a while since I visited the forum, but seeing as it is likely the end of the 350z journey, thought I would update. After suffering a misfire coming home from work, it looks like she has a valve or ring related issue on one of the cylinders. Low compression has been found. I was lucky enough to use the car as my daily, but this has left me a little exposed with getting to and from work. I don’t think I have the time or money on my side to rectify the issue, although exploring all avenues at the moment as it would be a difficult choice to part with it, but it’s certainly on the cards if I can’t secure alternative transport. Was certainly a lot of fun and no regrets!
  2. Not sure if it helps but there is a Cobra and a Fujitsubo on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154572367217 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174893959731 Good luck in your hunt 👍🏻 Jon
  3. Thanks for the kind replies. I’ll be sure to try and get to some of the organised meets around Berkshire or Surrey. Andy, I agree with you. I was about to book a refurb of the originals when those alloys came up, took a chance on it and I couldn’t be more pleased. Makes such a difference. Thanks again all. Jon.
  4. Hi guys, I’ve been on the forum for a while. Only replied a few times, couple of posts, but nothing of note. Thought it best to introduce myself properly at long last. Had the 350z for 4 years now. Bought it standard and reasonably well looked after. It’s my daily and I do enjoy the fact that it’s also a labour of love. We have seen some changes during the ownership. Cobra high flow cats, full scorpion exhaust, lightweight flywheel and twin plate clutch, jwt popcharger, hks intake tube, uprev courtesy of the chaps at Horsham (Great guys), some 19” 370z alloys and a mk1 Nismo kit. Among other things... Some of the stuff I’ve luckily picked up off of here, so thank you to the members that have helped me along the way. In the Berkshire area so will be glad to attend some events and meet some other owners in the future. Sadly had to miss out on Ace this year as the car was getting a little more of that love, didn’t fancy arriving in the courtesy Ford Mondeo estate. Anyway, thank you to everyone that’s helped me out and I look forward to helping out and seeing some of you in the future.
  5. Breakfast sounds like a good idea! Work shift work, but could likely manage a morning sometime! Crown Wood for me.
  6. Or me! Silver in Bracknell also. Look forward to catching you out and about! Don’t forget to wave
  7. Hi guys. Had a bit of a spirited run last night and now I have a little tick on idle that increases with rpm. Pretty sure it’s coming from the damper that’s situated behind the throttle body, as I can feel it pulsing. It’s a vq35de Rev up. Was wondering if anyone knew the part number for the damper as I’m hoping I can cure it pretty sharpish. Many thanks for any assistance in advance Jon

Hello, Give zmanalex a pm. I recently bought some from him. Jon

  11. Glad to hear it's working! Well done for giving it a go and persevering. Enjoy the fruits of your labour!
  12. Yes that's correct (By my reckoning and understanding). Connect 2 and 4 (Providing 2 is the female, hard to tell from the photo but should be quite obvious to you.), then continue the install as per normal. Hopefully when it powers up, your amp gets its signal and you'll have the speakers playing all your favourites. My Mrs thinks I'm nuts also, at least yours has a reason... it's for a good cause though! Let me know how it goes. Best regards, Jon
  13. No worries, anytime. I just hope it helps solve the issue for you. Looks a real nice unit. Best of luck. If I can be of any more assistance then please let me know. Jon
  14. Those photos help! You'll have to excuse my rushed replies, I'm at work, and well, they aren't paying me to sit around and enjoy the forum as much as I am (don't tell anyone ). So from the photo you've just supplied of the headunit and wiring, can you see the blue and white cable that has a blue tag on it that says '*something* remote control'? Pull apart the male and female connector located at the clear rubber cover right by the tag, then take the cable from the wiring harness (the one we identified earlier, blue and white with the white tag saying amplifier) and connect that into the female of the headunit (the blue tagged cable you just pulled apart). Proceed to test. I hope this solves the issue for you. If my explanation is not clear enough, let me know and I'll try to help as best possible Jon
  15. Hey, You'll be pleased to know that you have the correct wiring adapter I think I can see your problem. In the photos, can you see the blue and white wire on the harness that has a white label saying 'amplifier'? You need to connect this. There will be a remote wire from the stereo. Should have the female crimp to accept the male connector from the wiring harness. I hope this firstly makes sense, and secondly, helps you out.
  16. Hey Do you know what wiring harness you have used? Could you supply a part number and manufacturer? To my knowledge, there are two different sets, one for use with the bose amplifier and one without. This might be your issue. If you are using the one designed for use without the amp, then it doesn't send a signal to the amp, therefore no sound. Regards, Jon
  17. Hi all, As the title says, I'm in need of the plugs/trim clips that have the hooks/hoops for the cargo net to hook onto. I have one (woo!) but despite my enthusiasm, it doesn't really cut the cheddar. If anyone is breaking or has some laying around, please let me know. Expired ebay listing as an example: http://www.m.ebay.ie/itm/Nissan-350Z-Rear-Boot-Trunk-Hooks-Trims-Clips/281668978657 Cheers all. Jon
  18. Noticed you by the Windsor roundabout, first I've seen around since getting mine! ðŸ‘
