  1. Not many updates to report at the moment but I have just spent some money....

Drivers side Pillar pod is coming from https://www.southcoastflocking.com/

    Fuel Pressure gauge

    Intake air temp gauge

    Do I need these?  No.

    Do I want them? Yes.

Roof is getting wrapped in Gloss black on Wednesday.

Taking a Trip to @Tarmac@TarmacSportz next month too to get a rear diffuser fitted.

Not sure I ever posted it on here, but the whole rear of the exhaust has been re built.  It was straight piped (when I bought the car).  It was fun but too much.  Now have a "full sport" system from Long-life on the car.

    Very happy with it.

Excuse the rough and ready pics, taken when discussing the diffuser with Chris at TarmacSportz.

Uses the Torqen tips welded to the Long-life system.

Just fitted this exactly that kit this weekend, what do you want to know? I haven’t driven with it yet.

I got one to keep oil temps down on track, plus the increased oil capacity - Just for peace of mind.

Go thermostatic, else the oil may not get up to temp during daily driving (especially in cooler weather).

No issues with the kit, I mounted mine pipes facing up as I was concerned about trapped air. Big braided lines take some man-handling to route nicely, and lots of zip ties / foam tape to make sure they aren’t coming into contact with anything as they snake into the engine bay.

No instructions which was annoying, nor torque specs. I believe (double check this yourself) I did the sandwich plate to 35ftlb with a dab of red loc-tite to ensure it doesn’t unscrew when changing filter.

    I've also fitted mine recently.

Pretty much the same experience as above.  I had issues finding a nice way to run the lines which caused me a few headaches but otherwise the kits works great.

    I used the thermostatic plate.

The v3 is very very nice but does come with its own I wouldn’t say issues but things you might not have thought about etc

    Oh?

    How do you mean?

tbh, given the price I'm probably going to pass over it anyway.

£500 just to buy then painting and fitting on top, can't really justify that cost.

  4. So while I've got the Oil Cooler installing and working, I'm having a nightmare with the lines.

They just seem to be too long.  They'll either end up dragging on the floor or I have to hack away at the plastics to get it fit.  Then it'll probably interfere with the wheel.

Anyone fitted one of these and got some advice or pictures of how you fitted it?

Don't suppose anyone is around this weekend who could give me a hand with it?

  5. I've got spats on the back of mine and at some point want to put a diffuser used the the back.

I do quite like the look of that last one.  Not OTT.

Yeah V2 is nice but VERY rare I think?

Ouch I just saw the price of that strosek spoiler!

  6. I'm also think about rear spoilers.

I've got 2 in mind.  Either a Nismo V3 of which I can see a few well made replicas about (Tarmac Sportz)

Or the 350z Mercury Z Project GT3 Rear Spoiler

350z Mercury Z Project GT3 Rear Spoiler Wing

Though another option maybe the KBD Duckbill Style

After thoughts on this one please.

  7. So not many pics to add but this weekend just gone I changed the diff, gearbox and engine oil and finally fitted the oil cooler.

Wish I got a pic of all the used oil cans!

@oilman didn't get the 5 ltr fuchs oil in, in time so kindly sent them to me in 1 ltr cans.  Thanks guys.

Also thanks to @ZMANALEX for the tip on adding some molyslip into the gearbox.  Can feel the difference now its worked it way around.

My gearbox was never bad, but it is noticeably smoother.

Pic of the oil cooler fitted.

Bit of a pig to fit because the lines would have been better if they were 6 inches shorter.  Also, Mishimoto make it look dead easy to get the bolts through the frame but there is so much there that you need thin fingers.

Just need to get some line stays added to neaten up the lines.

  8. So,

I didn't like how the VDO gauges I installed looked so I replaced them.

Still need to hook up the sensors for the Oil Temp and Pressure but thats happening next weekend.

I kinda really want to put a pillar pod in with Vacuum and Intake Air temp but I'm not sure yet.

Part of me is "just do it" the other part is "too far"

Going to have to think on that one.

  9. Hi all,

I was changing my intake pipework this afternoon on my DE.

When I pulled out my old intake I noticed that the vacuum line on the underside of the intake was not connected and is in a pretty bad state (would explain a few things).

    Anyone know what;

    • This line is for?
    • Where it goes?
    • How hard is it to replace?

Without really knowing what it is, I'm now sure how to go about getting a new one.

  10. Sorry to jump in on this,

Anyone have thoughts on Black Diamond product for the Brembo calipers?  Used them in the past on my BMW's and they were very good.

Not sure how much life is left in my brakes but just something I've been thinking about.
