  1. Ah yes I did come across that.

I'll double check my route but I'm staying outside the zone.  So, so long as my route doesn't cross it, I won't need to worry about it.

    Cheers, though.

    EDIT

Just checked and I'll be driving outside of the zone so all clear on that.

  2. Hey all,

I'm planning a road trip for myself through Belgium.

Heading to Ghent first for a few days to see a friend then off to Spa - North Luxemburg  - Bastogne - Tintgny - Heirges then stopping the night in Divent.

Then Divent - Chimay - North through the Lakes - Thuin - Mons - Tournai - Calais A25 (Stop the night) then back to South Wales.

Should be quite the drive, as I think there are some places along this route that don't always hit the "best driving roads" lists.

    Total of around 900 miles.

So, I've driven on the continent a few times (to Belgium), no issues there.

But does anyone have any advice for a long road trip such as this, any tips that might be out of the ordinary?

Or any other tips for a solo road trip?

  3. It's got to be either the sensor or the gauge.

When my OEM gauge died it went to 120 before the engine was on so must be an open circuit or something.

Also, I wouldn't expect the car to be at 60PSI at all times.  Once the car is hot.  Idle pressure will be much closer to 15/20PSI.

Having gone through this myself, the engine will be fine.  It will be the sensor or gauge and if you really want to be sure, get a garage to hook up a mechanical pressure gauge to it.

  4. Hi all,

I'm just after some thoughts on how people have found these.

I understand that they need to be hot to pass an MOT etc, but I've been reading stories lately that people have been having a lot of issues trying to get cars to pass at all.

    So I'm just wondering,

    • Those of you with sports cats, what has your experience been like?
    • Are there any recommended ones to use?  Preferably bolt in replacements.

I see that Tarmac Sportz ones are shown as passing from cold but I'm sorry to say, that I can't see that being possible.

  5. So installing the Z1 fuel port did not go quite to plan.

I either split (or it broke) the O ring on the fuel regulator.

So now my car is slowly leaking a bit of fuel and generally stinks.

New O ring arriving later today to get it sorted.

Also will be updating post 1 with all the mods etc.

You should be able to pick up an O ring from a Halfords or plumbing place should be loads on the shelf at both.

On the subject, a guy I know does work for an Audi dealer, one O ring was £145 from Audi, it HAD to be used for warranty purposes, the identical ring from a regular supplier..... 49p

I don't know why I didn't think about Halfords.  Must be the heat mixed with the petrol fumes :blink:

Will take a walk up there later today.

Just typical dealer pricing. I honestly don't know where they make it up from.....
