Same thinking as me, but I came to the conslusion it was actively cooled due to the directed air. Don't THINK it requires dedicated fans etc to count as active.
Doesn't passive cooling refer to no airflow? PS rad (if not blocked by a plate) would be active / air cooled, no?
But yeh, point taken, but if it's a non-issue I'll just leave it for now.
Wouldn't ask if I wasn't open to suggestions. It's only zip tied on so no hassle to move it.
No need to get butthurt just because I don't take everything at face value.
That being said, won't air still pass around the plate and over the PS rad to an extent? Obviously it's less efficient, but the fins will dissapate heat and as long as that hot air is blown away it will still keep things reasonably cool?
Note the question mark, not saying anyone is wrong / right, just asking for clarification, don't get upset.
There was a thread on this not long ago. Pretty sure they are supposed to pull (the cooled) air from the rad towards the (hot) engine.
Otherwise you are sucking all that hot engine air and trying to use it to cool the rad
I'm useless at navigating the forum from my phone, seems to be so complicated difficult to find certain threads unless I spend hours of scrolling or looking for the "search" barâ˜ºï¸ I don't think it helps much that I use Tapatalk, starts searching the entire app
But Thankyou
Use Google instead, gives better results than the forum search.
Search "Dashcam 350z-uk" or
"Dashcam site:350z-uk.com" if you want to do it properly.
Basically you've totally misunderstood bantz.
But just in case you genuinely didn't understand my comment, I meant drive off in the car as in a "hit and run"
Although, just a note on that.
A GT-R Nismo is £150k, would you take issue with that having a Nissan badge?
An LFA is £350k, okay that comes with a Lexus badge, but that's just a fancy Toyota really. Again, problem?
You big badge snob, you
Haha, It's a hint of Yorkshire i think Got excited when I saw Huddersfield in the video review.
You can spend more for better video quality, but if you're happy with how that looks then go for it. Just be careful of fakes.
Initially i bought one off ebay that turned out to be fake, but returned it and got a legit one from Gearbest (the updated one with a capacitor and black bezel)
I've temporarily relocated my license plate to the bottom left of the grill, which means it's right in front of the radiator for the power steering fluid and blocking direct airflow.
Should there be any cause for concern, or will it still receive sufficient cooling during normal day-to-day driving. I know Hugh had his plate in the grill, but it was centre top, so not quite as restrictive. Didn't want to mount it on the right as that's where my intake is.
Any warning signs to look out for?
. Not amazing, but can't complain for the price - does the job.
As for wires:
- Comes from behind rear view mirror
- Straight into headliner
- Along the headliner to the B pillar
- Run down that
At which point you can either go behind some more trim (next to rear speakers / glovebox) to get to the rear 12V, or just pop out under / behind the passenger seat and go up to the socket.
(Remove the rubber door seals and it makes it really easy to tuck it in behind).
Rear cam is probably worth it, though I personally haven't bothered. Always a chance you get rear ended and it helps out though.
