Hey Bradders, where are you/your helpful builder man based? May be looking at a rebuild next year and this looks like a top job (and for less than the cost of the Torqen route). Understand you'd probably rather PM If I were to do it, I'd go for strengthened internals in order to go FI at a later date (or at least have the option), so hopefully it'd be something different for the forum!

Now that is interesting. Perhaps the HR's, I hear that has 80% different components within the engine. Almost all improvements and many that add robustness for FI. As I have a DE, it's a toss up between building the engine for 3-4k or save 6k and get a 370 or a very good HR 350z. Both are probably a year off from now at least.

Andy, I'll give Nippon a browse, although as has been mentioned elsewhere, this is a common issue for the Rev Up model, so I could well be replacing a faulty engine with another faulty engine! I've had the spark plugs replaced recently (July), didn't do it myself however they didn't mention any oil on them. Where would I fit the oil catch can?

Mark, I'm going to give the compression test a go, at the very least I will get a better picture than I have now. What test would you recommend for the oil control rings?
