  1. Great photos, good to see you all!
  2. I spotted such a Z I believe it was yesterday afternoon between 1800 and 1900. Also regularly see a grey/silver 350z that looks closer to stock, DE I believe and a ginger on my commute out of MK at 8ish in the mornings. Don't think I've had a wave back yet! (I'm in the red 350)
  3. They called me and gave me a list of all the issues identified, with costs and then asked which I'd like them to do. They told me how they went about flushing/cleaning the fuel and oil, but I can't for the life of me remember the details. I was hoping to go to Horsham developments, but they're over an hour away, wasn't practical sadly.
  4. Yep. What gets me is that the car isn't even 10 years old. Seems like a lot of corrosion on the suspension and exhaust for its age.
  5. So got the car back. Wallet is much lighter! Major service with fully synth oil was £302 so that was expected. The rest however... Problems fixed: Front discs at 23mm (26mm being the minimum allowed). I was really surprised because the brakes gave me no trouble, so had them (as gracefully as I could ask) bring them out. They were indeed properly knackered, in a way that only the dealership that sold me that car could not have missed! Pads changed too. 2x Aux drive/fan belts 'worn and cracked'. Couldn't confirm but had to take their word for it. Fuel system cleaned Oil system cleaned Problems remaining: Rear brake discs thin Suspension front control arms worn/separating Suspension corrosion 'throughout' Rear tyres haven't got much life remaining Exhaust system and shields corroded £930 for the work done. That again plus some for the remainder. Can't do that for another one month or so worryingly! So very painful.
  6. Car is currently at Halfords (yes I know, they were the only ones with availability) as I spotted corrosion around my catalytic converter (thanks to a clicking sound). Also getting a major service and other TLC while there. Fingers crossed she's all better by the end of the week and I can still make it!
  7. New Proposed Time Thursday 7th July 2016 @ 8pm 1) kbad 2) Apoc124 3) Matt89 4) SUPRAWOOKIE 5) MarkSt 6) OliverB Just to confirm, this is the MK Stadium, where we met last time I was there (the first meet). Looking forward to seeing you guys.
  8. I'm interested, will look it up now
  9. Thanks guys, I managed it eventually. Will upload photos for guidance in case anyone else has the same issue
  10. ECU modified to remove the immobiliser check (faulty immobiliser stopped the car from starting). Richie spotted the issue from a post of mine, suggested the fix and talked me through what I needed to do. Worked a treat and couldn't be happier.
  11. To add, their service looks great and for the price of a new immobiliser free ecu (£120) would've been a great option! Sadly it doesn't look like they do the 350 (or 370) models. Thanks again for he suggestion though.
  12. Cheers, Horsham have already worked on the ECU, should have it back tomorrow. Will put it back in the car and fingers crossed it'll be all back to normal!
  13. You legend! I had actually just managed it an hour ago, but that guide will really help reminding me how to put it back in! Fingers crossed Horsham can fix it!
  14. Still can't get the panel off. Don't want to force it, but can't see where there may be a bolt or screw. Without taking the panel off, I just can't get at the last bolt on my ECU. Put a post on the forum but no replies yet
  15. Welcome! Good to see another red zed
  16. Hi all, Trying to get the ECU out from under the passenger footwell. I can get 2 bolts off, but not the 3rd. I need to remove the lower dash panel to continue, as my hands/tools can't reach it. Any suggestions? I've included a few photos: This is the view of the ECU when your head is in the passenger foot well. This is the view of the bolt that I can't get at. It may look spacious, but my phone is peeking through a gap between the plastic of the lower dash and the footwell wall. I've taken off two bolts, just this to go. This is the view of the underside of the ECU (left side as you see it from under the footwell). The work space. Lived there for a couple of hours today! My poor zed getting towed from London on Saturday, just ahead of Japfest! Any help would be most appreciated!

  18. Thanks for the advice!
  19. I would, but car is out of action until the end of the week by the looks of it. Can't get the darn passenger side lower dash cover off to get at my ECU! Any pointers?
  20. Current plan is that Horsham Developments will remove the ECU. Has anyone had that done before? Surprisingly, my insurer were entirely ok with it, given that it's a security feature.
  21. Hi guys, Short of it: Immobiliser malfunction (light solid red when key turned to 'on' position). Engine cranks but doesn't start. Remote lock/unlock works fine. Context: Car valeted at Leller's in London (because I happened to be there). Get called as I'm having a beverage round the corner - "car won't start mate". Give it a go, as above. They push the thing into the road and leave me to get on with my life (and take my money, grumble). RAC man rocks up some time later, plugs in the laptop of hope. "Can't tell you, our system is too generic for security issues. Looks like the immobiliser though. Best take it to the Nissan dealer." And they drop me and the zed off in Milton Keynes, at my humble abode. Attempts to resolve: 1) Kayla (from the forum) and her good man Ash kindly arrive to give me a hand (was trying to get to Japfest on Sunday), we try re-syncing the key to the car, resetting the immobiliser from the manual. We then try putting my key in Kayla's key fob, sync and...vroom! Success. Drive it more neatly to my front door, all fine. Turn engine off, on again to check. Problem has returned, can't get it started since. 2) Call Nissan, best they can do is 9th of May with a minimum of £114 to 'have a look'. Booked in, but will cancel if I can find something better. 3) I've spoken to half a dozen 'auto locksmith' type folks, as well as one that specialises in immobilisers. Best I've got is "We can come and have a look, at the least point you in the right direction", for £65. One chap suggested the valet my have got water on something, being over a day from the issue, I can't detect any dampness, but can't rule it out. Really gutted, as with no courtesy car, I'm a little screwed getting to work (train is a fair walk from here, luckily I can work from home for a few days). Does anyone have any experience or suggestions to get me back on the road? I'm willing to pay for someone that knows their stuff to come out, if they are willing! Furzton, Milton Keynes. Fingers crossed!
  22. seconded! (My zed still won't start!)
  23. Thanks for the advice guys! Lewis - I really appreciate the suggestions, I've heard of the PCV being the culprit on the 2006 model. As for the mileage, I'm on 93k, I'm hoping to avoid a rebuild/replacement - if I were to do it, I'd be keen to have the engine prepped for a supercharger, as that's something I've had in mind for a few years down the line. I understand FI requires (or should require) some building of the engine to cope, could I make those changes at the same time do you think? Hopefully it keeps motoring along without ending up with a boot full of oil cans like a certain Honda
  24. Hey guys! Kayla from the forum has very kindly offered me a ticket for tomorrow. I'd need to swing by hers to pick it up, she tells me it's on the route. Would you guys mind if we stopped there for long enough for me to grab it? If not, I'll tag along up until that point. Now to get the zed clean! 1. SUPRAWOOKIE 2. newkid 3. Amyzed 4. Tkddave 5. 25. Cheers, I'll log the oil consumption and maybe resurrect this thread down the line
