Its cool dude, to be fair I must own about £100 worth of polish as well, just in about 15 seperate bottles
-
That is almost how I picture mine turning out. What is that rear spoiler? Is it one of the ebay roadster ones?
-
Wax, and it's not overly expensive compared to what you can buy, it's only £43 a tin (Chemical Guys 50/50 concours), but I have a thing for waxes and this is my most expensive. Today the Zed got a coat of Nattys blue simply cos it's a blue tinted wax!

So after 5 months of looking for one since I sold my supra, I finally found a roadster in the spec I wanted. I did have my heart set on black, but after seeing how nice the blue was, I changed my mind It is a 2006 DE (so got all the facelift gubbins) with full GT spec and sat nav. Only done 46k as well. Was a very fun 2 hour drive home from London yesterday, didn't realise they were so loud as standard! Have got a popcharger already ordered so it'll be a bit louder by the end of the week. Such a nice roar when you put your foot down! Gave it a quick polish and wax today as it was sunny, also put the roof down and went for a quick spin can't wait to give it a full machine polish and a couple of coats of my more expensive wax

What is this like for playing non-metal styles of music? (I am assuming the pickups are geared more towards cradle of filth style music)
-
I think I know the one you are on about, and I am going to view it this weekend.

Apologies if this has been asked before... on the 2006 DE revup, as well as a 5/16 spacer, I have seen there is some other spacer you need? Can anyone confirm, and recommend where to get this from? Thanks!

Any chance of holding a blue one until next week? I am looking at a Zed on the weekend and if I decide to buy it I'll definitely want one of these as well. -

Hey Guys, I don't own a zed yet but hopefully soon, and will prob come along to some yarmo meets to see you all! -
Apologies if this is listed elsewhere on here but I couldn't find any info. I am looking to buy a Zed at some point which will be completely standard (the one I have my eye on is a 2006 revup) What sort of prices do you offer for drive in/drive out tuning? i.e. cats, plenum, filters and reflash? Also, what are your lead times for booking this in? Thanks in advance!

This is my issue, my previous 2 cars were black and both resprayed so quite good nick, and looked amazing after a multi-hour detailing, but the second I drove it it got dusty and annoyed me. I am leaning more towards blue now as it looks like it can pull off a nice shine, and I can go for a blue/black scheme with the smaller details. I saw a lush roadster on here that had a half plasti-dipped bumper section in black... think I may try that if I get one!

Some interesting comments. To me colour is quite an important factor, I just wondered if anyone on here had faced a similar predicament with these colours? I have spotted 2 that are essentially similar except for the colours, hoping to view this weekend so can check them out then.

Hey all, I have been looking for a roadster for the past 4 months but haven't been able to find exactly what I want. My ideal roadster would be black, facelifted (not bothered about revup or HR), full GT pack and low (sub 50k) mileage. Sat nav would be a bonus but not essential. I have only spotted a couple of black ones in all that time, but have seen a lot of azure blue ones. I do quite like the look of them, but not sure how it compares to black. My last 2 cars were black and looked amazing when clean, which I love doing (detailing, that is). Any owners on here faced the same dilemma, or have some nice examples of blue roadsters to sway me? I will probably be changing alloys and putting a lip kit on so modded pics are also welcome.

In case the link doesn't work it seems the car has already gone...
-
I will be ringing them later on to go view, just thought you guys may have a better idea compared to a dealer in case it was some zed-specific thing or not.

Hey all, another queries thread if that's ok?! I have spotted this car which seems to tick all the boxes I'm after. However there appears to be an aftermarket addition on the dash and near the gear stick. Does anyone recognise what this is? Also, anything glaringly wrong with it? (I don't know all the specifics about what I should be worried about!) Thanks in advance
-
When I did this on a previous car it dried to a matt-like haze, but a couple of passes with a rotary polisher made it nice and shiny. I think polishing is the key to getting it look nice
-
If that was in black I'd be biting your hand off to buy it
-
Indeed but early GT roadsters only had three buttons, the extra buttons were added around 2006. Pete So do all 2006+ GTs have the stereo control buttons and the cruise on the wheel then? (just learning some more bits here!) Looks like I'll be steering clear of J17 as well
-
I have read the good and the (lot!) of bad about J17 - but in my eyes though I'm just after a car, not aftersales or warrantys etc, so would treat it with the same risk as a private seller. If in fact the roof (in this case) was broken and they didn't fix it, I would never buy the car. Funnily enough I was also looking at the first car AMT linked to as they are roughly the same distance from me as J17 are, but I do have my heart set on a black zed. I'm in no rush though and have a relatively high budget, so will keep looking! What is the tax difference between the pre- and post-facelifts then?
-
Hope this is allowed, but as I'm doing research I need some advice on a few things zed-related. I have seen this car for sale: http://www.junction17cars.co.uk/used-cars/NISSAN-350Z-V6-ROADSTER-MK1-002156#view Now I have already read the Junction 17 thread... but aside from that I had a couple of queries Firstly, is 109k miles a problem for a 10 year old zed? I have owned jap cars in the past and usually this is not a problem, but I don't know how well these engines run for 6 figure mileages. Also, it says it has had a new clutch, would anything else need replacing at this stage? Secondly, there is a picture of it with the roof up, but just above the door handle it seems like the corner of the roof is bent up? Is this normal or something that can be fixed? Lastly, is a 55 plate still the pre-facelift/cheaper tax model? Thanks in advance!
-
Dunno about the car, but if the JDM cutout on the Zed is the same as what I had on my supra, you can get away with a 12" x 6" with the smaller motorbike letters/numbers, but this is only allowed if you can't fit a bigger plate on it (i.e the standard uk 11" x 8")
-
I'm hoping I will find one in the next few months, then I'll be out and about whenever the weather is nice!
-
Already downgraded... the supra went last weekend! I will really miss it as it was such a head turner (especially being an aerotop) and stupidly quick, but it wound up costing me too much to run (single figure mpg most of the time), so as a zed is a bit more modern and appears on paper cheaper to run, I will be happy if I can find a good one! I'm in no rush to get one so will take my time and find what I really want. As long as it is a pre-facelift black GT roadster then I'm happy. I already have loads of modding ideas as well!

I'm actually in Long Stratton so only about 15 mins away! haha. I've only ever seen one Zed about and that was in my village a couple of years ago, didn't know there were a few around here That's because no one goes to Long Stratton Fair point! thanks for the warm welcome
