Hi all, I am looking to get an exhaust that is a decent bit louder on stock cats than my current Milltek, without being headache inducing! Ideally I'm looking for something that is deep at low revs, not raspy or droney, gives some nice pops on overrun, and won't wake up my neighbours. I've sent a PM to a few people who have the ARK Grip asking what they thought of it - thank you to those of you who kindly gave some insight! I have been hammering the search function and going through the archives, and I think I've narrowed my search down to either the ARK Grip or Invidia Gemini. I was wondering if anyone had heard these two in person, or had ever debated between the two? If so, how did they compare? I'm not concerned about the price - I'm happy to pay a bit extra if it's worth it. Ideally I'm looking for which one is the loudest out of the two (with stock cats), and do they both give pops on overrun? I believe the Invidia does but there are so few videos of the ARK with stock cats. Thanks very much for any help you guys can give. C

Thanks for the responses. Would anyone who has HFCs + Milltek mind putting up a short video of some revs? Would love to hear one! Do you get some nice pops/grumbles etc? Any Check engine lights?

Did the Cobra HFCs make much of a difference to your milltek sound, before the headers were changed?

Hi all, I know this question has been asked by others before, but I would love some more up to date opinions. I've recently bought a Milltek catback exhaust as my OEM one was totally corroded. I loved the OEM sound, and thought the Milltek would be very much the same, but it seems in this first week of driving that it is very VERY quiet. With the OEM exhaust you could hear downshift blips, a nice grumble on start, etc., You were always aware you were driving something nice. However, with the Milltek it's all extremely tame - you wouldn't know there was a lovely big engine in there. A youtube video from Milltek showing the Milltek system running seems nothing like what I have. It's much deeper and gives that distinctive 350z gurgle on acceleration. All I can really hear is engine. Many people swear by the Milltek + HFC combination. Do any of you have a video of that running? I have read countless threads on here and elsewhere about the combination, but can't find a video. If it would give me back that nice deeper grumble and distinctive 350z noise then I would get them in a heartbeat. I'm worried I'll sink even more money into it and not have much difference, or even worse lose torque. Any input at all would be very much appreciated .

Hi all, Just an update on this! It was Chris from Tarmac Sportz that I ordered from. He was fantastic - apologised, agreed it needed changed, and ordered a swap straight away. I'd highly recommend buying from him - best customer service I've had in ages. I'll upload a wee video of the exhaust soon. The guys at the exhaust place were all looking at the exhaust too, said they loved that brand and that its great quality. No problems with fitment at all!

Yes brand new . Was from a popular trader. I paid £660 for mid pipe and back box. Don't want to name the trader as I'm sure it wasn't their fault and they'll hopefully fix it .

Here's another shot looking up at the weld from the side. The weld sticks out about 1cm everywhere else except that one bit where its very near flush. Am I worried about nothing or is that risking blowing out down the line? http://i.imgur.com/6QmddoL.jpg

Hi all, My new Milltek backbox just arrived! However.... I'm a little concerned at a pretty wonky weld on the side of it. The rest is fine, but this one bit is recessed right in with only a few mm to spare before the join between the sidewall and top. I reckon if there was no weld there, there would actually be a gap between the bottom and side panels. The milltek was an expensive choice and I want to make sure the quality is what it should be. Thanks in advance!

Have also had my clutch pedal slow to rise as a result of the clutch fluid being old and boiling when sitting in slow traffic.

That's what I always thought too. My thinking was that if they really wanted it they'd just break into my house or jump me when I'm getting into it.

I am someone who knows literally nothing about car security. How much security do these steering wheel locks offer? Can a 350Z be hotwired, even though it has an immobiliser? I was always under the impression that the car couldn't be stolen unless they had the keys or put it on a tow truck. Am I wrong?

It's funny though when you say about people paying these sorts of cars loads of attention and ignoring cars which cost much more. As you say, absolutely bog standard cars are typically much more expensive than Celicas or Z's are these days.

I love Celicas! Had one before the Z. It's the one downside of owning any car you love. It does get a bit tiring needing to think about where I'll be parking, how long it'll be there, whether we should take my gf's car instead etc. I constantly swing between worrying about it or thinking "well that's why I pay so much in insurance".

I've had mine for about 6 months. Nismo v1 kit on it. It definitely is a car that gets strong opinions one way or another. I would say mostly positive opinions, though it's always the negatives that you remember most. Positive: - I've had kids run alongside and shout "awesome car!!" quite a few times - I've had another Z driver frantically wave and give the thumbs up on the way past - I've had it parked at my parents for short visits, and their butcher weeks later commented on how jealous he was! - I've had random people just come over to me and ask how I'm liking it - I've overheard someone in a car beside me talking to their passenger saying "now THAT is a 350z" - I've had a truck full of guys beside me start revving their engine at traffic lights. I turn around expecting them to be knobs but they were actually started shouting "PLEEASE REV IT!!" - Catching people stop and turn as I drive past. Negatives - BIG downside - attention from mostly the wrong crowd. The things mentioned above are massively outweighed by the amount of attention the car gets from groups of chavs. Every. Single. group of rough teens will stop and stare and point or shout SOMETHING, "YEEEO", "WOOOP WOOOP", etc. as it drives past. Sure, it may be their way of complimenting, but it makes me paranoid as hell when I need to park it somewhere slightly rough. I do over think things, but i am 100% convinced that it'll be keyed at some point in the not so far future. - Had kids playing football in a car park I was parked in. They purposefully got closer and closer to my car, and one shouted "I hope this ball doesnt hit that guy's nice car!"
