i searched 350z alcantara dash in images as im sure id seen a few of the cluster tops done before in it so thought it would give you an idea. wouldn't like the idea of having cardboard on my dash even if covered its a potential fire hazard but you could coat it in cheap pva clue thatll give it some strength like the old mask molds you make as a kid cover the balloon in paper dipped in it then pop the balloon same principal here just over the cardboard. dont think theres anyway not to be sanding anything down as ull need a good serface for the leather/material to go over got me looking into doing this now though

http://s234.photobucket.com/user/bullitt5897/media/DSC_4474.jpg.html quick google i know this is for the 370 but shudnt be too hard to mod the top of a 350 cluster

if i was doing it id make a mock up in cardboard cover it in clingfilm and start layering fiberglass patches and resin build a few layers up and let it set remove the cardboard and use body filler and hardner over it and smooth off with sand paper quick primer then cover in what ever you want

looks nice there. those wheels go for a pretty pennie if you want to change them can pick some refurbed rays up for 500 and flog these and make around 1k for other mods -
this looks like its going to be fun 3 years in the making. reckon itll be running at japfest?

The hood is a right PITA with the groves and curves I did my own but it's not great and needs redoing tbh some people find it easier than others but there is definitely a skill to wrapping and they are worth paying for someone to do. 300 isn't a bad price when your looking at 2-3 hours labour for 2 people and the materials

this builds coming on very nicely. your doing well with your little experience of modding you've now done more than a lot of the people on here. well done on just giving things ago. also i see your like to add all this late at night when most are sleeping haha i just added a load on my build too look forward to seeing what else you get up to next

right enought wrapping for now onto some bits for the inside finally getting rid of that tan/orange/dogpoo/vinderloo colour bits of the O/H for mas so naturally she didnt think/know that i needed a boss and new knobs to fit these so i got busy on the old ebay and order my self a cheap china boss and a knock off sparco quick release and a proper set of sparco knobs and pedal set right the china boss was just plain rubbish wouldn't of fitted unless you removed all of the steering assembly including the indicator sticks and unit they attach to but at 15 wasn't to fussed but ended up with a full refund and didn't have to return item as it wasn't fit for its advertised car as for the knock off sparco snap off looks the business 2 solid bits of aluminum and a good mechanism and solid lock so that was a steel at only £15 the sparco knob and pedal set took a little longer due to a paypal issue so only got these today so fitted these with the gaiters i got at xmas -

now next up the rear bumper now this was a right PITA i tried doing it all on my own and its awful but im going to put it up here to show that im no pro and lots of mistakes are happening. not happy with it by any mean and will be redoing it when help is available but for now its on the car like it is . after a few hours taking it off and cleaning it to within an inch of its life (it was filthy and lots of double sided tape for number plate) i began so anyway was really annoyed at it but was too late and i needed the car the next morning so on it went as it looks good from a distance but up close loads of error and even a very bad slice of L/H side as i some how ended with to much material so please be gentle as i know its a bad job but it is my first wrapping and it is also coloured carbon fibre texured material which if you ask anyone is a right PITA to work with -

so ive been away busy over the xmas break and been getting things done . first up was to begin my full car wrap so what better way than to start at the front bumper off so i took it off into my nice warm house to do the work then fitted back on to car minus the badge misplaced my double-sided tape so had to order some more -
He was a visionary who would of thought that 10 years later everyman and his dog would be getting it done 😉

yeap the carbon stuff is really bad 3m don't make coloured textured vinyl because of this it has a tendency to rip along the pattern so is a nightmare to work with but i havent seen a whole car in it so wanted to be different as for being professional im far from it loads of mistakes and marks on it but im going to be tracking the car so its going to probably need redoing various times also my first time wrapping one panel let alone a whole car so im getting better as i go along
