  1. I'll see your ridge racer and raise you Pandemonium https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemonium!_(video_game)
  2. Na, you just get my continued presence on the forum as i can justify keeping the Zed then Maybe even getting one with an extra 200cc
  3. Some really good responses there guys, appreciate the help. Yet again showing how good this forum is! Had the interview this morning & they seemed very impressed so i think i gave them the answer they were looking for! I did put to use some of your suggestions & even used that picture in my presentation strudul, cropped out the leader part & just used the 'Boss' image as a bad example of management. My overal message from the presentation was that these two skill sets are interlinked, that to be a strong manager you should first & foremost be an effective leader Find out wednesday so fingers crossed!
  4. Guys, interview tomorrow morning for a management role where i have been asked to hold a 20 minute presentation on the question as above. I have quite a lot down but am looking for opinions from you guy's really if you've got anything for me, seems to be a question open to interpretation & google results almost always just say Management = Bad & Leaders = Good though the two are interchangeable
  5. It should actually be cheaper than five years ago, providing that'll be your only property & not a second one. You no longer pay stamp duty on the first £125,000, 2% between £125,000 & £250,000 & then 5% for the amount over £250,000
  6. Oh, Yeah we exchanged today! Heart dropped when they sent a completion statement asking for £7500! Dopey solicitor had put me down as paying higher rate SDLT, got that sorted & exchanged this morning! Ready to move in Wednesday Lol. Try having to pay £20k! We moved in last weekend. Got the keys on Friday 5th, cleaned whole house. So much anti bacterial stuff lol. Then moved as much as we could asap. Will do the rest after our wedding, which is in 2 weeks. Hence why the rush to get out. Moved out of rented back in October to help save towards house and wedding costs. 20k sdlt.. sod that!
  7. Received a homewarming hamper in the post from Clydesdale bank with bottles of red wine, chocolates & shortbreads etc. I thought that was a nice touch.
  8. We moved in 2 hours after picking up keys Clearly not as patient as you guys! Doing some work in the house, while camping it out! Bed and sofa are still around 4 weeks till delivery so we got a couple of table chairs to relax on....
  9. Oh, Yeah we exchanged today! Heart dropped when they sent a completion statement asking for £7500! Dopey solicitor had put me down as paying higher rate SDLT, got that sorted & exchanged this morning! Ready to move in Wednesday
  10. Fingers crossed things speed up soon for you!
  11. Well it's not even that they forgot, It's the fact that they clearly didn't order the searches till last minute then tried to blame it on the local council who then told me they did it within 3 days of receiving it! Certificate sorted now, Was ready to exchange but turns out my solicitor never did pass over the proposed exchange date & the seller wouldn't be ready till next Friday to complete when we planned on Monday, after some bartering we agreed on Wednesday as a compromise at 5 this afternoon.....so let's see if we can manage it tomorrow! Fourth times a charm? Good news is my incompetent solicitor is on Annual leave & seems to have passed it over to someone that actually does their job!
  12. Seems too cheap! Bargain for someone
  13. Was supposed to exchange Friday, didn't happen, found out we need a FENSA certificate last minute, supposed to be sorted and exchange today but again didn't happen Spoke to estate agent at close of doors today who said the vendors solicitor has dealt with that so fingers crossed for tomorrow - third times a charm!
  14. Well, I spoke to a really helpful lady at the council who's advised me that the search has been sent back to my solicitor on the 20th April!
  15. At the minute, all we're waiting on is the local search to come back, after that there shouldn't be anything for her to hold up any further, I think changing solicitors with just that left would possibly delay things further. The reason I've lost faith in her is just **** poor communication & a lackadaisical attitude to it all, I'm thinking if it continues I'll be asking for my case to be passed along to one of their other solicitors. For now I'm being quite insistent on what i want her to do & when to phone me back by else I'm contacting her, actually getting her to answer the phone is a different question but that phone will ring off the hook until she does! But again, now that she's finally dealt with the issues I've had, the last hurdle is lying with the local council
  16. Not something I'd considered but will look into, can this not take time for the search company to get an appointment for the search too? Sellers solicitor & estate agent are now getting antsy as they can't get hold of mine at all.
  17. Alright you guys that have completed recently, don't rub it in After further constant calls I finally spoke to my solicitor on thursday! Turns out we're still waiting on the local search to come back which must be coming up to 3 weeks + now! Last time I spoke to her she felt we'd be comfortably be in by the end of the month, now she doesn't sound so sure...seeing as that's next week and all! Have booked time off work for 8th may so fingers crossed we can get in by then!
  18. You going to buy another house again after the stress of the first time? Well I might have a 3 year break to recover from it all first
  19. I'd love to have the time for a 4-5 hour drive to Manchester Definitely agree on sticking with a local solicitor, will 100% be doing that next time around!
  20. National one I'm afraid else I would have marched down there pretty sharpish after the 17th call going to voicemail!
  21. Argh....I'm sure my solicitor is avoiding me
