  1. Hi guys, I took delivery of my Z today, and the door grab handles are tatty. I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Wicked Coatings in Poole? They are local to me, and seem alright IMO, and they were on Wheeler Dealers lol. I'm thinking of getting carbon dipped door trim but idk if they can do it smoothly. Seen some of their parts with pics, and the "weave" is wavey and all over the place Don't want to go a week or 2 OR MORE without interior parts being shipped back n forth so yeah. Thanks
  2. You know what they say. Buy "cheep" buy twice
  3. My issue really is down to money, I had another look last night and they seem about £80 all in different, which for the levels of grip everyone describes, might be worth considering. Now I just need the sort of mileages people get out of a set? My dad ( yes I'm still a baby ) has the P zero's and he HAMMERS the daylights out of the car, AWD helps but he's got about 12k miles on the tyres, looking at around 4-5mm tread left in my less than expert opinion. I just worry about having to replace the MPSS at 10k miles for the rear. I can handle 15-20k but any less is a bit bad.
  4. What tyre would you suggest then, in the similar price range? £150 a rear is about the most I feel comfortable spending, but not if it means getting a £150 budget that's wide over a smaller, quality product. MPSS seem to be a good £20-£30 more in most sizes and from what I read, damn soft. Yeah it's not a big amount, but I genuinely thought Pirelli were a good choice and they seem to last damn well as a result of maybe less grip on the MPSS.

    wanted 350z

For around £8000 you're going to be looking at a facelift, I wouldn't bother pre facelift for that sorta cash. ( no offence to pre facelift owners ) I would say an 06/56 is your newest car, unless you want to start going above 70k miles. The facelift has a nice update to the interior, little things, but nice to have such as the newer looking control knobs, but I'm sure you're aware of them I recently bought an 07,'56 plate facelift model, one owner, 50k miles full history for £8,700 so they are around, but it took me near on 8 months to find a suitable one. Just go have a look at a few that bang your gong, and if there is anything wrong that you're not happy with, walk away. They aren't as rare as hens teeth, so just keep waiting (Personally I also don't like the grey or silver ones, too common) Currently there aren't any I would go for on autotrader or similar sites I'm afraid
  6. I was going to go for Linea Corse C818 wheels in 19, love the look, colour would be either gunmetal or silver. Why are P Zero's so bad? my dad has them on his 330d and they stick like the brown stuff to blanket.

    Costs

I know it sucks, but wouldn't it be almost worth getting a 2nd hand one like others suggest? I know you might just end up having the same problem, but a bad weld could just as easily happen. Hope you find a worthy solution, for good money.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't really like those :S I was thinking 19s to fill up the wheel wells a bit, but I'm not sure what sizes to get, like maybe up it to a 8,5 or 9J in the front and then 9,5 to 10J at the back Right now I'm more concerned about getting correct tyres, then adjust the rim accordingly
  9. Hi guys, as I'm sure there are a few threads similar, but none provide conclusive results IMO, I am going to ask myself. My tyres might need replacing in about 6 months, but I can always get them early if I find a good deal I'm currently running 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 on stock Rays wheels. I was thinking of going BIG but I'm not sure how big I can go before it ruins both the look and drive of my car. I use it only for street use, and occasional B road thrashing. I was just curious which option would be the smoothest and most decent ride? I guess the stock set up, but it doesn't look quite right to me YET My main three concerns are sticking outside the car, want to try and avoid that look, rubbing, and TC/ABS madness I want Pirelli P Zero tyres, as I really like the tyres, and MPSS seemed too expensive in some sizes. I did some research and I'm happy to pay the prices I found ,as a " mid range " tyre, such as Falken in 225/45/18 costs like £75, why not spend a bit more and get premium aye These are the tyres I'm faced with, the GREEN ARE FOR 19 INCH FRONT OPTIONS: 225/40/18 225/45/18 - STOCK SIZE 245/40/18 245/45/18 245/45/19 245/40/19 REAR OPTIONS: 245/40/18 245/45/18 - STOCK SIZE 265/40/18 265/45/18 275/40/18 275/45/18 275/40/19 275/45/19 I don't mind a rough ride or road noise, as I love the raw feel of the Z , although longer motorway journeys might be TYRING... haha had to say it. But in all seriousness, I like the raw feel and sound so that's okay The 19 inch are on here purely for future plans, I might keep the RAYS for winter wheels and get some Linea Corse C818 for summer, hence the bigger sizes only, as they will (theoretically) last twice as long Like I said, no MPSS as they are DAMNED expensive, and I feel Pirelli is a good enough alternative and as far as I'm willing to stretch for tyres. Thanks for the help guys, and my apologies for the ramble, and million tyre size thread!
  10. YOU BLOODY BUGGER!!! Look great I want a set for my Z but only once my 18's are shot. Works out about £50 more expensive to get 19 inch tyres, and upgrade to 245/40/19 up front and 275/40/19 on the rear, rather than the 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 I got currently. Can I ask what size you're running, both tyre and rim? FYI I would go 265 as I'm a bit worried about rubbing, but I've seen people do it fine on this forum, and it's £50 a tyre cheaper to go 275!!!! Got a black car, so choosing an appropriate colour would be hard. normal silver looks great for the contrast, but darker colours look badass too!! I hope they don't get the dreaded curb rash
  11. I like the look of the system, and then I read it has no CD player or memory or Satnav, and as I don't have an Iphone CarPlay it's useless to me I'm afraid. I was thinking, like I posted above, 2 separate units for separate things. Satnav up top and Music etc below. Don't need fancy DVD players and the like, just Music. I'm trying to avoid the boy racer look like flashing blue lights etc. Just a clear screen is enough
  12. I may be tempted to get a divider with Z logo soon, pay day on the 21st, but I'll have to let you know. Have some other goodies I need to get sorted first. So please only put me down as a potential, don't want to say " definitely yes " and have to pull out :S Would it be possible to get a pic of either side so I can check them out properly before buying? At that price, I don't mind having to pay an extra £5 cause I missed the pre order, still a damn good steal, I mean deal
  13. I think you need some more pics bud, like the back and interior/engine bay perhaps, but damn she looks great!! The history sounds impressive, maybe start a list of the items changed in service and when, like dates and mileage, and post a pic of your receipts. That would boost interest through the roof, especially at this price and condition!! Best of luck with the sale, and like I said, very good looking car! Should fly out the door
  14. I was hoping to just stick the satnav up top for now, and eventually replace the Bose system down below, as I barely use the radio on my commute to work it's not a high priority for me. ( its like a 15 minute drive and I just talk to my passenger ) It seems alright, but the mixed reviews put me off, rather just get a trusted and known thing like a Garmin or TomTom if I can
  15. Nice bit of kit to finish of an engine bay I do have a fetish for both Carbon Fiber and "burnt" Titanium. However nice, I can't justify this for myself. Maybe one day when I've got half way through my list of necessities first Maybe, I know it might be hard, but whack up some pics for those who can afford them?

    Dash Cam

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting a GoPro Hero 4 Black edition for a dash cam ( I know overkill but I want the best of the best, and don't want to buy a @*!# one then have to buy twice to get what I wanted in the first place ) Can you provide me with some pics of your set up? I was thinking of putting a suction cup behind my mirror to try and maximise viewing distance, and avoid obstructing my field of view when I drive. Other people have made like a " selfie stick " and stuck it to the rear strut bar thingy, and it ends up resting between the 2 seats, and looks awful IMO. Thank you for the vid and ideas in advance
  17. Hi guys, I got a Z with no Nav ( used one with Birdshite and was not impressed and found it a waste ) so I'm looking for a decent Nav unit. My problem is I am clueless as to how I'm supposed to wire these things in, and the guides on here although thorough, intimidate me. Cutting wires and soldering, this would be my first attempt at either, and I'd rather pay someone to do it right first time. Heaven forbid, they bugger it up, they are to blame and not me. Anyways I digress. Can anyone recommend any late model Navs they have gotten retrofitted, with pics? It's all well and good looking at them on the interwebs, but I find it hard to picture it in my car, and also all the techno jargon is confusing me ( I don't do electronics, I just play with them ) I'm looking to spend a maximum of £300 fitted but might be flexible if I find a truly amazing system. Eventually I will need a replacement for the Bose unit too, and parking sensors, but that will come later Any help would be appreciated, and for fitting, I am in the Ringwood area, so if you know local shops less than 50 miles away that'd be great All I've got is some local shop in Ferndown that did the radio for me in my old car, and fixed it when I accidentally removed it and couldn't get it back in they fixed it for free!! Thanks guys, I have posted some of the Nav systems I have found and think are an option, on opposite ends of the scale, and again ( to paraphrase Game Of Thrones ) I KNOW NOTHING, Jon Snow. http://www.halfords.com/technology/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/garmin-nuvi-3598lmt-d-5-sat-nav-with-uk-ireland-full-europe-lifetime-maps-and-traffic. The key features that I liked were the lifetime map updates, real time traffic/speed camera's and the 3D terrain, although the last might be a gimmick. I'm not 100% sold on the bluetooth phone thing, as it might not work too well with it being tucked in the cubby hahaha Just want it to look like a decent system, not some cheap one with tech from 10 years ago ( My dad still has the same one he bought in 2006! It works, but I could never get a signal with it in my own car ) http://www.halfords....lifetime-maps ^^^^^^ The one above from Halfrauds, is the budget/cheap but I posted it for the mounting, surely this would be ideal for a cubby? stick it to the back, and remove when I'm done sort of thing? My issue would be wiring , but we can figure that out later
  18. Unfortunately I'm not sure but I'm leaning towards no. I know this isn't relevant but a facelift 06 with 55-65k miles runs low £8000 all day, so based on that, I'd have to go with no.
  19. Seems quite high to me. He's going on the low mileage for a high price. If you wait around, you can get an 06 facelift model for less than £1000 more, and okay fine mileage will be higher but give it some thought
  20. Looks like I'm going for Black Diamond G6s and forgotten the pads but works out too £400 for the lot. Definitely happy with that, Mods/Admins please do with this as you wish, maybe someone will comment more suggestions n find this useful, but I think there are enough threads already.
  21. Dammit! Late night forum browsing strikes again! Sorry for the ballsup guys!!!
  22. Sorry guys I'm a newby, but what about the rear wiper? What size is that? ( I don't have my car yet so just want to get the bits ordered before she comes ) Thank you, will DEFO be getting Bosch from Halfrauds for the front 2 cause I'm lazy
  23. Welcome It depends how fussy you are, I was searching for a facelift model ( 06 or newer ) For around £8-9k for over 8 months before I found one I was truly happy with, in the right colour for me, black, before I finally bit the bullet and got it last weekend. It only comes this weekend though She's an 07 on a '56 plate with 50k miles, 1 owner from new with full Nissan history, but that's a bit out of your budget. I contemplated getting an 05 GT4 special edition for £6750 but really wanted the facelift instead, so they are definitely out there if you want to wait and search a bit longer to find the right one, and maybe up your budget a bit. Long story short, you should find an 05 ish model, and circa 75k miles for that sorta money, just be patient. I'd take 10k + miles with full history over a badly maintained low miler any day. What sort of distance are you willing to travel, and are you fussy on Convertible or coupe and colour? The best one on the internet I could find right now <<<IN MY OPINION>>> is this one, although I'd worry about that part history!! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201506284719621?model=350_z&page=1&make=nissan&sort=mileage&channel=cars&postcode=bh241sz&search-target=usedcars&radius=1500&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&price-to=6500&logcode=p
  24. Hi guys, I did some minor searching and found these Carbon mirrors from EP racing http://www.epracing.co.uk/Carbon-Accessories/Nissan/350Z/350Z-Carbon-Mirror-Cover/p-75-122-123-1446/ Would you guys be able to match their pricing or similar if I buy more parts such as Carbon B pillars? I can wait, as I need to do some minor servicing first and then check the poor crying leather square thing known as a wallet I am sorry if this gives you guys a bad name, I don't mean to make you look like a rip off, just figured other forum members would want to know. It's not a huge difference, and if I get a solid product that's well made, then the price is worth it Thanks a million.
