cob1980 replied to davey_83's topic in Local Meets Across The UK
1) davey_83 +1 2) Brummiestormer 3) cob1980 + little 1 (hopefully) 4) Justthejedi 5) pintopete58 6) nissanman312 7) Matt V6Z 8) Matt jb88 9) Bhupz350 10) ToM (maybe) 11) Maggz +1 Updated with +1. I'll probably join a little later than 9.30 if we are eating at 12, if you don't mind, as I think my son will not hesitate in telling me he's bored for 2.5 hrs! -
Not what you know, who you know ey I have a basic knowledge of electronics for example I'd have been happy to have fitted some kind of separate remote control to power the windows shut but I was concerned that I'd mess up something else with the cars electrics. Cars are pretty complex these days and beyond my knowledge! Ill wait to see what you come up with

Ace! Thank you for taking the time to look at this, it would be a very useful mod. You must have a pretty decent knowledge of electronics to be doing this

Thanks buddy. Grams is hit and miss. The first set of side steps were poor, with a bit of pushing they collected them and sent a replacement set which were perfect. The rear diffuser was near perfect, slight imperfection on part of the CF but not really noticeable. I did complain however that the centre mount was missing and no fasteners provided. I ended up binning the standard side brackets and doing my own anyway. I'd say go for it, but if you are not happy with what you receive then complain. Not ideal, but sometimes you have no choice if you can't find it elsewhere.

OoooOo! How?!

Well done, good buy mate!

I'd love automatic window closure when locking the car. It would save me having to be sandwiched between the car and window every time I lock the car up in the garage to get the ignition key out. I've read it's not possible... !

Just quoting to confirm my track time. Gonna do it regardless of the high idle issue. See you all on Sunday, can't wait! Just added my time also. -

Japanese Performance Show - 19th August 2018

I contemplated this last year, glad I didn't bother, the standard way beyond what I expected. Honestly I don't think people use their cars. They should have a show a show and shine for ordinary folk who have stone chips! -
Ha! That gives me hope! Thought it was just cos I didn't drive it frequent enough and not used to it. That's kind of you, yes please mate
-
Thanks David. I got a StopTech cylinder from Torqen, and yes also bought a braided hose. The guys at RPM told me not to bother with the Motul fluid, they have said 350z themselves and said they'd never had an issue with regular fluid. We'll see on that. I'm also hoping it changes the pedal feel too, it gets 'sticky' quite easily. I absolutely hate driving in atop start traffic. Also I never seem to be able to pull off smooth...but maybe that's my driving ha ha. That's cool, Alan's the owner of which, the tyre place or RPM?
-
Hi mate, Nick was telling me about your toasted clutch - thought he meant the clutch itself! I've booked mine in to have the exact same done at RPM Garage Birmingham (not used them before) as I didn't want to risk driving on the old slave to JapFest. Now I'm worried the new one is going to pack up on the way too !! What do you recommend is done then? Priming the slave first? Cheers... Iain.
-
Thanks mate. Yes, hoping they sound good given how much they cost lol. Don't hold your breath for the remap though - I expect I won't be able to do it until next year Thanks mate I'm chuffed with the outcome!!
-
Yer I was thinking the same except I have already bought a carbon fibre rear diffuser which will cover it! ...I can always remove it though if I change my mind.
-
If I can get up early enough and time it right I'll join M1 J19.

Thanks buddy Another update... Whilst the front bumper was off to fit the headlights I fitted this EVO-R Type I air duct, I managed to get this from a fellow member GrahameJ for £93. Small bit of trim-age required... Hi-flow cats on order now, which will complete the mods before remap.... EVO-R air duct Velocity stack mod Cosworth panel filter Motordyne plenum spacer Lower plenum thermal gasket ARK R-Spec High Flow cats (to be fitted) Unknown Y-pipe Nismo exhaust That's all... Iain.

Busy few days, finally got the G35 spats fitted which I bought back in 2016 (£80). What a PITA these were to fit [properly]...never again. I used a combination of TigerSeal and fibreglass/resin to get them bonded solid. Had them sprayed up this week (£245 ) here's the result.... FINALLY finished my headlights after 2 years lol... so pleased with the results... So the exterior is pretty much done how I want now. Just rear carbon diffuser and possibly red callipers. Just a reminder of how it was a couple of years ago when I purchased it to now.... More to come... Iain.

Ha ha! Possibly, but sometimes less is more!
