Thanks buddy, actually my second child which is the problem as it's not so easy to palm off two kids on the wife Since I've hardly driven with the new HFC's on I'm going to let them bed in before making a decision. I never doing anything quick anyway so...all in good time !! Going for OEM colour, as glossy as possible, with spacers (that's the "+" ha ha). I really like the standard Rays on the Z, but never had them on mine or had the experience of driving with lighter wheels. Don't know when this will happen though, everything is on the back burner at the moment with all what's going on.

Over the Winter whilst off the road I decided to sell the gear knob, never really liked the 'stick' format, I prefer a ball shape. I completely forgot about it then 2 days before the Mot in March I realised I hadn't replaced it! Torqen quickly shipped out a replacement for me, and thanks to them it arrived before the Mot. I decided on the South Bend Clutch weighted knob. To me it really makes a difference to the gear shift. I think I still prefer a thinner stick underneath, so I may replace again at some point but for now this is much of an improvement. That's all for now! Stay safe folks! Iain.

And that brings me to January 2020, big shout out to @davey_83 for spotting a bargain on Gumtree and forwarding on to me, £150 for a set of standard Rays. They need to be refurbished but for £150 what a bargain, the Falken Ziex front tyres are near new also.

Next up for summer 2019 were my ARK Performance Spec-R High Flow Cats. These beautifully made HFC's have been sat in a box for quite some time before I got around to having them fitted. I do have some before and after videos, but I guess I have to host these on YouTube or something? I compared the previous Mot emissions with standard cats to this years Mot with HFS's. Here are the results: Standard cats: CO 0.019 (max 0.200) HC 0 (Max 200) Lambda 1.002 (1.000 is optimum) HFC's CO 0.050 (max 0.200) HC 14 (max 200) Lambda 0.999 (1.000 is optimum) All very low which is testament to the quality of them. However, I'm not convinced I'll be keeping the HFC's. I'm not 100% on the combination of the Nismo + HFC's. I prefer something a little more subtle. So these could be up for sale!

2019 the battery gave up. I took on the challenge of finding the biggest capacity battery that would fit without any modification. I found the Bosch S4 026, and even better it had a blue top! 70Ah with 630A cranking power.

Hi Lewis Wow honestly I didn't realise it's been so long since my last update....nearly 2 years!! My daughter was born June 2018 and since then I've just had so little time. Yes I'm still in ownership. Last year I did debate selling it since I used it so little, but I can't part with it! I've just had it mot'd, thankfully as usual it sailed though no advisories etc the mot guy said it's spotless underneath. Now that I'm on here I'll put a few updates on. Thanks for the compliments by the way, I do prefer the OEM+ look, that's exactly it "clean and simple". I have most of the original parts if I wanted to change anything back. I recently bought a set of standard Rays for it, I need to get them refurb'd. I'm undecided whether I'd keep both sets of wheels or not. If we are not locked down I'll be at the Indoor Jap Show this year. Iain.

Yep, honestly I couldn't tell whether his engine was idling or not it was that quiet over the general road noise nearby.

Has anyone experienced any issues when having Rays / forged alloy wheels powder coated? i.e. does the process of powder coating weaken them? Thanks iain

2x Falken FK452 245/45 ZR18 100Y Part Worn Tyres They have between 3 and 4mm tread. No repairs. £40 for the pair, collection from either Tamworth B78 (anytime) or Birmingham Airport (weekdays). I should be able to deliver but I'll have to check how much this would cost.

Here's your chance to own a unique gearknob, it was on my Z when I bought it, the owner said it was specially made so there is no other. It screws straight on, no adapters, grub screws etc and sits nicely over the leather gaiter. It's a good weight at just over 0.5kg. Very nice knob just not for me I prefer a ball shape, so raising a few £ to replace it. Looking for £40, postage £4.50.

Spotted this week just waiting to pull out of Middle Lane.
