A warm welcome from the land of the Scarletsí ½í¸‰

I took the day off Tueesday with the intention of laying down some patio but as the weather here in Wales was unusually raining, I decided to take a pop at fitting my 12 quid camera and 14 quid screen that I bought a few months ago off ebay. Ill post the links to the products after. So first off was to take out all the carper and boot lining and locate the mint coloured wire feeding the positive to the reverse light. Basically, the light gets its power when you put the z into reverse, so tapping into this wire would power up my camera and screen and when in any other gear they would turn off. SIMPLES ! The loom is in the left hand side of the boot as so. so I would tap into this and take the wire all the way to the front where my stereo is, ie...through the rear bulk head, through the roof storage void, into the central console tunnel then up into the central dash (I have a roadster) The grounding I did for the camera was anywhere in the boot and the screen onto a metal part under the dash. Positioning the camera centrally was a ball ache because the boot catch is as you all know in the middle and I did not want to put the camera off centre (although nothing wrong with that) its just my OCD took over and managed to fix it in front of the boot switch, centrally because of its small size. Next I pulled the left side number plate light out (just pulls out with a little spring clip, and this is where I would feed my wire through into the boot. I drilled a 12mm hole inside and fed the cable through. Happy days Using a length of wire I fed through the wall and taped it to the camera feed and pulled it all through. so after it came through, I fitted a nice little grommet which I had in my bits n bobs ice cream container (which all members should have BTW lol) to protect the wire. so next was to test the screen. WOW. for something costing a few quid, it was outstanding. Very good resolution, has two channels and is fully adjustable, ie contrast, brightness and colour. It even has the green, yellow and red guidlines, which TBH I was not expecting. Good so far. now with it all working great, it was time to feed the power to the front of the car. Could not decide where to put the small 3" screen so opted to use the bracket that came with it and screwed it down here.... so for just under 25 bucks, a few hrs work, I now have a fully functioning reverse camera which works a treat. Hope you all like and let me know if you need the part numbers that I used from ebay. ok so I've ordered my new wheels with are 20's. After I put them on I may or may not have an unsightly gap under the arches, not so much as putting 18's or 19's granted , so I light of this I'll need to lower the car. As I'm now on a tight budget after forking out 1600 on wheels, I'll be opting for springs. Do these come in a variety of drops like 10mm, 20mm 30mm and so on and also who would you recommend I buy them from?? Thanks in advance Zeb

I'm on the look out for a pair of orange seat belts. Been searching and come up with nawt. I seem to remember that certain cars had orange belts as standard OEM fitting but for the life of me can't remember. You can buy red all day long and even mg's had them in most cars, so need your help in locating some orange ones. If anyone recalls seeing em in any cars please let me know. Cheers.

Ok sorry to harp on regards this as I'm getting closer but yet to find an answer. I'm now going for 20 x 9 up front and 20 x 10 at the rear. 25 offset and 45 offset includes spacer. They guys want to sell me 30 profile tyres telling me that the 35 which is what I want won't fit. I cannot beleive under a standard suspension set up that the difference between 30 and 35 is a make or break deal. 5mm bigger all round. Can someone advise me before I loose it that 35 can work on 20's. Reasons being I want to close the gap between the tyre and arch without dropping the car.

Ekona, I doubt it was the polisher and probably the waxes or polish that you were using. Most polishers are the same - they rotate, they speed up they slow down. Thats it. Its down to the chemicals and pads / bonnets and pressure that determine how good the finish is.
-
I never said it was good for detailing and Im not into that at all. Just want a good clean car now and again. You can swap the foams for smaller pads like 3" if you need to plus it comes with an assortment of bonnets. You can aslo slow it down but only though pluging it into a resistor which is already lugged into the socket. So speed is not an issue on this. If your a detailer its probably pants but for me, and thats what counts, its great for the level of valeting that I want to do myself. If I needed a detail It would be done by a detailer shurly.

Ive been using under laminate flooring foam with silver back, addehiv'd every where like doors, panels etc. Works a treat and cheap as chips
