  1. Not funny really, but the inner sadist in me had a little chuckle http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/05/scooter-man-has-a-really-bad-day-4718422/?ITO=facebook
  2. Of course... IF my budget could stretch to a tubby or s/charged Z then my mind would be made up, but i won't have that kind of money and with the sale of my car as a deposit, i'll still need some finance, so a dealer or garage find might be my only option... I'd have much preferred to buy private. But with my credit file dispute (long story) likely to be ongoing for months to come, i might not get a good enough finance deal in the form of a personal loan to make it an affordable option where as car finance works slightly differently, albeit i wouldn't want anything secured against the car, even though i've never defaulted or missed payments, it's my only mode of transport, so if i break my leg or am taken ill for a while and don't take out their worthless gap protection that isn't worth the paper it's written on, they'll come along and say "Sorry about your illness, pal. Where's ya keys?" and wave goodbye with a wry grin on their smug faces... Not if, but WHEN my credit file is corrected and back to normal, this wouldn't be such a problem as i could afford to lend more to do the work myself, but currently it's not an option and i'm not waiting possibly another 6-8 months for the inevitable outcome, i want to be car shopping in the next 1-2 months max.
  3. Yeah, see an old friend of mine up north had an R34 GTT, he and it's previous owner spent around £4-5k under the bonnet inc some internals, zorst and map etc and he's also upgraded the suspension, rims and camber and it sticks to the road like crap to a rusty shovel... Awesome on the twisties... Not entirely sure what power it was pushing. Guessing around the 380 - 400bhp mark. I also do a fair bit of mileage in a year and it would be a shame to stick those kind of digits onto a rare car. Also the cost of oil changes every 3k now i no longer have my workshop or anywhere nearby to do it myself... I'm guessing that by rambling on, just typing what is flowing through my mind, i'm answering my own question... But then in 48 hours or less, my mind could have changed again. I've never been so indecisive in my life! Honestly! Well, i don't think so anyway.
  4. Ok, short and sweet, probably going to get many mixed views, but here goes... There are 2 main contenders with an odd ball thrown in for good measure.... By this summer, i will either be the owner of a nice 350Z, R34 GTT OR another R33 GTR... Yes, i am used to boost, but i've also had and enjoyed many N/A cars. I know what most of you are probably thinking, but it's not as simple as that. I'm not an old man yet by a long way, i'm 30 but i do enjoy SOME refinement for long journeys - ie: steering wheel controls, cruise etc... Although not essential if the drive is enjoyable enough without them... So, you see my quandary. I just don't know what to do. Far more Z's to choose from, obviously and for less money in both purchase and service + upkeep etc... It should be the obvious answer.... But R34... GO!
  5. Anyone on here? Ventured North for a few days to visit my bro, niece and nephew. Only one i saw on the whole trip!
  6. As title says. Also keep seeing the sunset on a private plate ending CAT i believe on the A49 between Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Always driven by a female. Both OEM looking cars.
  7. Agreed... Initially, the more i think about it, the more it reminds me of "spotless very low mileage cars" that i've purchased in the past and wound up spending thousands in both garage and home repairs due to parts that have either perished through lack of use or just age related things... The one which sticks in my mind the most was my R33 GTR... 37k on the clock but had been dry stored for nearly 2 years... Cost me a fortune to get back on the road properly and eventually had to sell Still, Shifty will be back. This year, i am bloody determined!!! Climbing back up the ladder slowly but surely
  8. 12 f*cking pages!!! Are you lot kidding me? Haha... By chuff, it just goes to show you! There are more people in the world like me Hi Faye! Welcome to the nut house
  9. Nice car low mileage, but even for a Trader is about £1k to £1.5k over priced. Agree'd, i'd imagine they'll get someone fairly clueless come along with a rich daddy who will pay the money, however after the research i've been doing lately, i would probably only be happy to pay around £8k pending it's service history etc... Regardless of mileage, there are plenty of parts which can tarnish and perish through lack of use which could lead to further expense.
  10. Why do I think that Grundy's second opinion will consist of; "Nice, but needs a BGW". Hahahaha! I know some here are partial to the whole "lack of downforce" look... And whilst i do like drifting... I am a fan of the BGW, so i'm ready for all the p*ss taking at future meets, when i finally sort my life out and and get my Z! :-D
  11. +1 Appreciated guys, hence why i said "Oh yes, if only i had the money to hand this quick!!! But as i don't, i thought i'd share it with you lot " That's a very good tip for everyone, as well as myself! Cheers buddy <<< Here is a bunny wearing a Chinese hat, for your entertainment! I have heard that it's actually a pancake on it's head. Google it. New one on me lol... I was debating however whether it was a pancake or Chinese hat... Bit flat for a hat of that nature, but there goes me making the wrong choice.... AGAIN lol... Agreed haha!!!

  14. Ay, again! They could of at least waited until i was just 99p short of the total amount required (which is usually the case)...
  15. Certainly is! Didn't think it would hang around though! Since posting this link, the website has changed to "under offer", which it wasn't when i first viewed it about an hour ago! Still, there will be more
  16. Perfect car for me, perfect mileage, condition, age (for lower tax etc) black interior.... Tis endless... I know silver isn't to everyone's taste but colour isn't a problem for me as i make automotive paint for a living and have many friends with top quality spray shops FYI: Silver is also the perfect and recommended ground coat for candy and ink pearl paints! Oh yes, if only i had the money to hand this quick!!! But as i don't, i thought i'd share it with you lot http://www.exchangeandmart.co.uk/used-cars-for-sale/nissan/350z/nissan-350z-v6-sports-16283887
  17. Stunning example there pmorg4! However it doesn't have a "Stubby Ariel" fitted and this instantly & significantly de-values it. The best i could offer is 67p and a chocolate digestive GLWTS buddy
  18. Nicest Azure i've seen to date! It's a credit to you... GLWTS
  19. Awesome vids in this thread, Chubby! Great effort :-D
  20. Looks like someone's snapped it up now! Or it's been traded with another dealer...
  21. This should be a good idea, however with a metallic, using a touch up pot and brushing it will making it look flat and horrible... Get them to make you an aerosol of the colour and then just mask the whole are off to paint and clearcoat it
  22. Haha! Cheers guys It's going to be a month or two now anyway because things have happened this week to put a bit of a stop on things... Not for a too long hopefully... Need to also be mindful that i need my car for work, so if mine sold for the right price and i hadn't found the right car yet, i'd be stuffed for getting to work... But above all, i now have about £3k to stump up before i can go car shopping
  23. As Vlad said, go to your local automotive paint supplier (i work for one!)... I know it's a lot for a tiny item like a bung, but if they are half decent to their customers, like we are and you want the right finish then get yourself a small amount of clear plastic primer (they may have a tiny bit lying around in their mixing room), use this first to seal the rubber and then ask them nicely if they have an open "test" can of clearcoat and giving it a minute between coats on or near a radiator, give it a couple of distant blasts just to add rigidity to help prevent the surface paint cracking or crazing... Don't over do it though... You will need to spray the basecoat (sunset orange) via an aerosol as you cannot brush on metallics, it will stand out a mile and kill the effect of the metallic element... It is a big expense for a tiny piece, but you can always use the rest of the rattle can for dings and scuff repairs. Just be sure to hold the can bolt upright (UPSIDE DOWN!) when finished and press the nozzle to clear the stem out properly for future use Before you do ANY of this, clean the bung in warm soapy (fairy liquid) type water and allow to fully dry before commencing! Hope this helps!
