  1. It falls off after six years, paid or not. No worries! Thanks for all the input tonight guys. I was going to bed early tonight. So i'm going now! Thanks again
  2. So, i'm gathering that if he settles, his account would show as such for the next 12 months of so and then it will fall off his credit file regardless... Crickey, i'm glad i have some sense when it comes to finance. If i was in his boat, i think i'd rather sh*t in my hands and clap - everyday, than have to deal with collections agencies chasing me every 5 minutes...
  3. Cool... I'm going to grab a few numbers for him to phone for some advice, but i will certainly suggest he has a joint appointment with his wife to be at CAB! Thanks for that idea, Will!
  4. Thanks for all the help so far guys! I've just spoken with his missus on the phone (as he's in the shower) and she is under the impression that this account defaulted just short of 5 years ago now. Does that mean that it will be removed from his file in roughly another year regardless as to whether he settles or leaves it? Or will it start another 6 year term from date of settlement? I think his intentions are to get a mortgage with his future wife so instead of applying and damaging his rating any further, he wants to get it sorted out and better his credit rating now. I think his missus's major concern now, give is that if he takes this reduced payment, it could start another 6 year period of showing on his file instead of just letting it run out another year... I'm not very up on financial advice, i've just always made sure i paid my debtors on time or before and if i couldn't afford the payments, i didn't lend the money. Simple but effective! I'm a few years older than this wee scamp though haha!
  5. I have pointed him in the direction of Noddle which is basically a free version of Experian which i also use to keep my credit in good standing. But as Ekona says, it would probably stay on file as indicated, the whole point is to build a credit history. From what we were chatting about earlier, i gather he has been offered a "final offer" which is a heavily reduced lump sum to finalise and clear that account. I think his concern though is that it will prevent him getting credit still, even if his account is then corrected to state he has settled up and closed that account with the collections company. I had something similar years ago due to an unauthorised overdraft of just 1p which Lloyds then proceeded to charge me £20 a day for 3 months on as i refused to pay their ludicrous charges on but finally disputed it with the FSO and won, then it reappeared on my file about 3 years ago and i had to kick up all manor or holy hell to get it removed again. Surely these agencies shouldn't have the power to just screw with people like this when accounts have already been settled!? Surely it's illegal and immoral?
  6. General query really to help guide an internet-less work colleague... Does anybody happen to know for sure the following. Basically, on your personal credit file where any defaults, loan providers and financial credit history etc happen to be stored, does anybody know that if you have an account which has defaulted from 4 years ago now, if it is "settled" with the collections company as a "final payment", can you have that particular file taken off your credit file completely or does it have to stay there unless the full balance is cleared? And would the default marked as "settled" or "satisfied" improve your credit file or remain indifferent? Any help appreciated!
  7. Delta S4 is one of my weak spots! Bring back Group B!!! (Which yes, i know will never happen!)
  8. Yeah, i wouldn't have said it was that far over priced unless most of the cars that i've seen advertised so far have been over priced... Then, i am fairly new to the Z specific scene, so it's all a learning curve... Still, you all want the most from your cars come sale time so keep the prices up a little bit, eh!?
  9. Absolutely cracking car by the looks and sound of it! Mileage, history, almost new really and less than £8k Get in there someone! Damn me not advertising my car yet... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201405074007902?atmobcid=soc4
  10. Cool vid! Thanks for sharing. Awesome twisties :-D
  11. Strasbourg is lovely! Well worth a visit if you get chance! Sound bit of info to consider there! Something i've not done yet myself is Belgium and Luxembourg. One for the future
  12. Hey up Jaz... Have you ever been to Italy or Switzerland driving? If not, pay attention. Whilst Italy is a beautiful country, the difference in the roads between the the border of Northern Italy and Switzerland is phenomenal. I would rather spend the bulk of my time in Switzerland (so many gorgeous routes, only some of which you have covered) due to the fact that 3 miles into Italy, you'll need your support team to come and replace your suspension. Zee Swiss are incredible road engineers and you will thrive driving through the mountain passes, the galleries and over the bridges... Italy, you will have bad arse ache, a poorly car due to their diabolical roads (in the mountain regions) and depending on the route you chose, quite possibly test drivers for Ferrari and/or Lambo trying to kill you on some of Europes more dangerous roads and they are not overly polite about doing so, so don't expect notice of their imminent passing. That's about all i can think of. For me though, if i was to plan a route driving down, i'd go Brittany Ferries (my fave out of the two - P&O) because i love the whole ferry trip, it's part of the holiday for me and gives you chance to rest, breath, sleep whatever depending how far you'll have travelled to get to the ferry, it's a good 4-5 hours for me.... Anyway, route from Portsmouth to Caen, drive south east towards the Alsace region of France and then head south. You will find it gets ever so increasingly beautiful as you venture through the Alsace into the Jura and then seeing the mountains in the distance on a gorgeous sunny day, heading into the Alpes... The motorways are brilliant but equally so are their A roads. In fact most of Frances B roads are better than our A roads!!! So don't be afraid to explore the map a little bit, you might end up very thankful that you didn't just settle for cruise control and a tedious motorway drive! Although it sounds like you're game for a bit of adventure... Then you can pretty much plan any route you like from either France to Italy or Switzerland etc... One place i would like to see some of which isn't too far from Northern Italy is Croatia! There could potentially be a hell of an experience including many of the worlds most jaw dropping roads if you have the time and funds to do it all... Whatever you decide, ENJOY!
  13. I've had several Skylines and hope to have several more! Deffo interested Bring on the build thread, rich in pics and vids
  14. Welcome dude, just down the road in Shropshire! Stick with us Midlander's, we have a sense of humour around here
  15. I am a woman so obviously that I took it the wrong way and from the same fact I am impossible to please so you can't win no matter how much you would try I'd hardly say i was trying to do anything. Just apologising. But you're right. You're a woman and i'm very experienced in the arts of "can't please, won't please" so i'll leave it there. Welcome nonetheless. I think,
  16. WOW..!! :scare: It was all meant light heartedly. Crickey, i hadn't even been drinking. If i'd have intended for it to come across in a any other way, i'd have made it ever so much more clear ..all forgotten You are absolutely right but still, taught sh*t. You are so wrong - 17 minutes. Because they are attached to you. It gives me great pleasure to announce that 350Z forum member Shifty6Speed has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the "Slotting in time before 90" of the Year Award. This award is given annually to a Zed forum member that demonstrates exceptional courage and devotion to duty while acting on behalf of the department. P.s Your Golden star is in the post Apologies if you took what i said the wrong way, as i think WhackyWill did, but it was only meant jestingly. Good! As you were!
  17. Well, if she keeps herself as well as she keeps her Z, it may be well worth the visit!
  18. Firstly, i think you're very selfish for not sharing your photo's! Secondly, i find it hilarious how you already have a very close number of profile views to me (and i only checked it myself for that reason) given that you've been here about 10 minutes :-D Thirdly i have boobs but nobody wants to see mine and Fourthly (i just said that out loud in a posh voice for reasons that not even i will ever try to understand) WELCOME TO THE FORUM! Pheeeewwww... Glad i got in there before the page count hit the 90's!
  19. Just run some stock down to my works Hereford branch today and whilst stuck in traffic during "schools out" hours, i happened to be stopped right outside a rather nice looking house with a rather gorgeous (and spotless - i might add) looking 2005 Azure with a Nismo spoiler and on the funny angle i was to the car, possibly 370Z alloys! Reg ending CZZ iirc... Anyone here?
  20. This 300c deffo needs a BGW and some even smaller wheels! Kidding! I'm not a huge fan of the interiors in these (not the one i saw inside anyway) but i guess with a spot of "personal touch" here and there, they sound a fairly decent motor
  21. Whilst they're quicker than 90% of other diesels in their catagory and price range, i wouldn't touch a 2.2 Honda derv with a barge pole... They have chain driven cams and the whilst that is normally a good thing, these engines like to stretch them and jumping cogs is common which we all know won't do your engine any favours internally! Also E46 Beemers use the N42 engines which were some of the worst they ever made! Not only because of the dreaded timing chain tensioner failure... Been there, done that, got the £3k rebuild t-shirt!
  22. ha, they are local to me and I test drove a 350z of theirs - sounded awesome with a powerflow exhaust, but I got the impression they would not be easy to deal with. Now called motorhub and based in an old multi-storey cp in keighley - lots of exotic metal Yeah, a guy i used to work for had a lot of dealing with them. They ripped a lot of people off and buttered up their dirt cheap stock to sell for 3 times it's dodgy worth... I'd never give them a looking again. I used to collect "trade bargains" for my ex bosses car sales yard and drive them back on trade plates (going back a good few years now), i had way too many break downs and incidents en route home which usually required roadside assistance. As we both used to say "Adverts filled with false promises and cars held together with bullsh*t spray"... They may have changed their name, but their reputation will never leave me!
