Only the r34 GTR got the 6 speed box the 32/33 had the 5 speed

There is a lot to be said for a skyline over a zed but they are so old now trying to get a decent one is getting harder
Hence why I went the opposite way

Mine failed the emissions yesterday
Tester told me to replace the exhaust before next year and passed it
Like most things it depends on the tester on the day

Cool thread , pretty much the same as i'm planning on mine.

The 26 never got variable valve timing unlike the 2jz , which makes such a big difference on the road and to general drivability, in fact the 26 had little development from '89 but the RB25 was developed right up to the end , thats why many people think the RB25 neo is the pinnacle of the RB engines , a stock RB25 neo makes more torque at a lower rpm than a stock rb26 , the saving grace of the 26 though is its potential for tuning but as Tricky Ricky says the LS motor has a huge potential for tuning since the market is many times bigger than that for the 26 and economies of scale make many of the parts surprising cheap especially if you are used to tuning Skylines.
I was planning to fit an LS engine to my 33 GTST , was considering a RB30 build as well but the LS was going to be about 30% cheaper for a 600/600 build

If the problem is with Privilege they why give them your business ?
This is what you get buying a product based on price rather then quality , if i cant get the service i want i go elsewhere , if everyone did that these companies would have to shape up and start supplying a service that benefits customers rather than what benefits themselves

Nismo stuff widely faked in China , ebay is full of them
Thankfully ours are all Genuine Nissan parts
Yeah I'm sure they are I was replying to a previous post asking why there are cheaper on eBay , bit of a tapatalk issue hiccup, so apologies if it appears different
The genuine ones do look better

Write to them , and your previous insurer prior to aviva to see if they have the renewal documentation

Am I the only one who has be given practically free ncd. I have 5 years, yet I've only been driving for 3. Makes entering it into the net difficult. Lol.
Shhhh the old boys are having a rant

Does the "Berks HFC" work well with the "Invidia 350Z GEMINI ROLLED STAINLESS STEEL TIPS CAT-BACK" system that you sell? Is this a relatively loud set up would you say as I'm after some noise & gains. May be thinking about this for next year, ...or sooner if my old exhausts falls off before then. Thanks.
I'm thinking exactly the same ! Can't stretch to buying anything this side of Xmas but looking to do the lot in the new year provided it's not too loud

But if you don't get any further discount does it really matter ?
-
Might be what you want but I want that big rush of power. flat torque curves are great if you are restricted by gearing
You can make more torque at lower rpm with boost my 1.4 supercharged daily makes more torque at lower rpm than my zed
-
If only it was all about power rather than drivability/ flexibility/economy etc
-
I'd rather have a supercharger than either but a supercharger with a turbo works well
-
The replacement for displacement is boost!

Rb26 had its day a while back , LS is the way forward

thats a non HR model , I know most people know that but a newbie like me figured all 07 cars were HR's , not sure if thats an issue for the OP but when HR's can be had for £9k not sure the earlier model would be as desirable
-
Funnily enough my recently bought zed is making unpleasant noises , checking you tube there are dozen of vids of fuel dampner and dual mass flywheel rattles , it seems widely regarded as normal
-
I was worried about mine as it was idling at 1100-1200, spoke to Jez at HDev about it and he filled me in about it not being an uncommon fault on the HR . An idle relearn solved my issue though
The only thing I can think is air leak or poss lambda fault but think this would trigger a fault code
SKY insurance rocks !

Chaucer are one of the few companies who will deal with heavily modified cars , I've been with a few brokers over the years with mine but always underwritten by Chaucer.
It's not easy to shop around
