  1. A bankers draft is not as good as cash and should never be regarded as such. It's as safe as any other cheque , in other words you won't know if its good or if it's not until you bank it

Shops worry about £50 notes because they rarely see them , many more fakes £1 coins around because they are cheap and easy to make and no one pays much attention to them

  2. Do banker's drafts still exist? Like a cheque, but can't bounce. Easier to securely carry on your person than cash, just remember to wash your hands.

Bankers drafts can bounce if they are drawn fraudulently !!

Plus when was the last time you saw one ? So they are easily forged nowadays all you need is a good printer . Internet or telephone deals are good if there is good trust between the parties but im a firm believer in cash , if in doubt take a mate with you

  3. Hmmm, sounds like they wanted to get rid and are using this as an excuse to some extent, if they have a media policy that is that clear then she doesnt have a leg to stand on. harsh, but unfortunately thats the way it goes sometimes.

First question to ask is always "has she been there a year" coz if not they can do what they want :(

    Its two years now

  4. You wouldnt want a R35 then? :)

A good modern auto is still rewarding to drive, the tiptronic in the Skyline is great on a fast road you can just flick between 2nd and 3rd using the lever or steering wheel buttons

  5. Personally I hate sticking my sat nav on the screen , always looking for a neater solution. Post "Bose Hack" I had put a mount inside the chubby box but think I have found a neater solution

I bought this item on ebay -230845694977, cost was £6.99 , its made of that flexible PU rubber so will stick a little , but the option to double sided tape it down is always there

I removed the old rubber mat and used it as a pattern to cut this new mount to suit, its a easy job with a pair of decent scissors or sharp knife, I have angled it slightly to point towards the driver.

Job done, it will take my phone , ipod or sat nav and the lid can be closed so a stealthy alternative to those give away rings on the windscreen.

  6. Nothing wrong with the turbo there apart from the spool up time measured in minutes ;)

If you look where the units are placed on many cars they are often well and truly exposed to the weather and rain etc , on the Evo for example they get the water through the grill and rad and also water from the bonnet vents when the car is parked

  7.

Yes saw that, obviously looking past the silly stickers its a decent car, although I have to try and get my head around having an automatic :scare:

Problem is your budget wont stretch to a good manual which are £1500-£2k more

The tiptronic is very underated but if you hate autos you will probably hate it

  8. Sure this isn't rocket science but might be of help to some. .

A cheap and good solution for jacking up the zed on the approved jacking points on the sills , you need a special shaped pad here so you don't damage the pinch weld on the sill .

You can buy solid rubber hockey pucks on eBay for just a few pounds each

Cut a channel down the middle with an angle grinder , a grinding disc works fine , the groove you need is about 5mm deep but just keep trial fitting until the puck fits flush each side of the seam .

Job done , you can use these with any type of jack and they are especially useful with axle stands, the rubber surface helps stop the stand from slipping

Usual caveats apply , be very careful when working under your car and you do so at your own risk
