  1. Yeh you shouldn't have any issues if you have done things like this before. Just give yourself an afternoon to do it so you have plenty of time and arn't rushing to finish before it goes dark. As GM says, there are plenty of guides on doing this. I think I originally used the bose hack post to find out how to remove the dash and which screws need removing etc.
  2. That's one of my reason getting a DE Plus it seems the majority of the aftermarket parts are cheaper for the DE which is good for the wallet when being diagnosed with Zeditus
  3. I own a DE and to be honest I couldn't care less if the HR is faster as I wont be racing anyone and enjoy it as it is. If it makes you feel better though, watch this vid and just believe its true and enjoy cheaper road tax
  4. I think I used these InCarTec.co.uk back in January when I replaced by Bose unit with Pioneer AVH-X8500BT. You will need the surround plate, harness and patch lead if you want to keep steering controls. Link here if it helps, just use the drop downs to make sure you get the correct harness and patch lead etc: http://incartec.co.uk/nissan/1929/1034/2056/78/Browser.aspx Good luck
  5. From the album: A few Mods

My 5th and 6th gear had what felt like a notch in between each changing gear. I removed the gear surround, cleaned out, and then aligned the gear plate and issue was solved. I thought this image may be useful for anyone thinking of doing the same job. Basically just loosen the 3 bolts, put in 6th, push the plate so the flat side is touching the notch, tighten the bottom right bolt, put in 5th, move the plate so it touches the notch again, tighten all 3 bolts. Then check 5th to 6th has no notch when changing between them and that reverse gear engages ok when pressed down etc. Easy job!

Decided to make myself a boot divider while I was signed off work. Had some old wood and left over carpet from a few years ago. Was a pain in the arse to make without a template just using a pencil and a jigsaw to cut to size and it did take a fair bit of time to get right and glue together. Not perfect but does the job and hasn't cost a penny :-)

The rear strut cover was scratched to hell so I thought I'd give the carbon wrap a try for the sake of a fiver. In all honesty I thought this was going to look tacky but its done a great job and I think it looks great. Really please with the finish.

Replaced knackered OEM gear knob and gaiter. Really like the look and feel now.

    AVH X8500BT

From the album: A few Mods

Replaced Bose HU with Pioneer AVH-X8500BT. Has everything and would highly recommend.
  10. I recently bought the D1 spec throttle controller off ebay from EPRacing for about £95 after reading the reviews from people that had them on here. Dead easy to install and I wired mine into the centre console coin tray so its out of site. Its a lot of fun when you first get it putting it in the higher SP modes but in general I now leave mine in SP3 mode and the car is still nice and easy to drive but feels a lot more responsive and smoother than standard IMO. It also has Eco mode but I've not really used it to be honest as I want to enjoy the few miles that I do Would definitely recommend them. I know Jez at Horsham sells them if you want to get one from a trader on here.
  11. Welcome I made the same decision last October and I'm so glad I did. Hope you enjoy
  12. You can't go wrong mate. Also they look just like the same style build as the eibach's. They give the car a much better stance and I think it transforms the rays into 19's IMO
  13. You going to be doing the same with yours Martin when you get your new Berks or are you selling yours as spares?
  14. Thats not too bad, as long as its not a tenner which will near enough be the petrol money to take them. Worth a trip even if it's only £60 for the pair. Just brings the price of the new HFCs down in theory Cheers
  15. Hi, Finally got round to installing my eibach spacers the other day and realised my locking wheel nuts and key were all chewed up which made them hard to take off. Thinking I best replace these asap as I don't want to get a flat and not be able to get the wheel off to change it in future. Anyone got a new set lying around that they want to sell? Cheers
  16. Noticed Chris at Tarmac Sports has an offer on some new ones at £100 for the set. You would be mad not to get these as its a bargain price!
  17. Things are gonna get noisy in South Yorks... haha It will be like a sweet harmony ;-)
  18. Hi, Going to be replacing my cats soon as one of my originals is damaged. Has anyone on here tried selling them as scrap lately so i know a rough price and if its worth taking them to a yard? Cheers
  19. Its easy enough mate but make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to do it. I did mine just after Christmas, was the first time I'd opened up the console on the zed and first time id fitted a DD unit. Took me a few hours because of this but did also have a few issues with the brackets on my pioneer unit to get it to sit flush so had to do some adapting to the original brackets. Basically just follow this guide and you should find it easy enough: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/56481-kenwood-ddx-4028bt-rear-cam-install-%E2%80%93-superguide/ I have fitted 2 or 3 HU's before but you shouldn't have any issues using this guide
