  1. It's an absolute mission mate....you basically need to take the bumper off or pull it down to get to the bottom bolts for the headlight. Then yep you need to pull the headlight out to replace main beam.

You can do the indicator bulb with the headlight still in but main beam is impossible.

    Good luck dude!

Does sound like a mission. I think I'll wait until a bulb blows then before I attempt this. No point dismantling the car just yet.

 Don't look too bad. I prefer a whiter light so would probably go for the 6K and the sidelights look better too. Just bought one of those 5smd LED bulbs for my interior boot light and the difference was fantastic so it's good to know they look good in the headlights too. On another note 350Ad do you have to take the headlamp out to replace the bulbs then I'm assuming? Is it just remove four bolts and lift out forwards?
  3. I just fear getting out of my street more than anything :surrender: , it was a complete nightmare last year and that was in a little fiesta.

You guys must all live down south or something because last year it snowed for a good few weeks solid up here and it's supposed to be even worse this year?

I live in South Wales and let me tell you the snow here can be just as bad as up the North of the country. I can't even get out of my drive sometimes let alone the street. Bl**dy hills.
  4. These type of miniature engines have been around for a long time now. I've seen lot's of different variations on Youtube from the US mainly with some even being supercharged. Still very, very cool and a real feat of engineering imo. B) Also worth looking at miniature jet engines on Youtube. ;)

  5. I've got a Halford's 150hp jet washer that I received as a gift some 7/8 years ago RedWill so you don't necessarily have to spend big bucks for a reliable pressure jet washer. Also I've found eBay to a very good place to shop for detailing products as there is a huge choice of top brands and more often than not at half the price of the same product from Halfords even with the postage cost's involved. Some threads you might want to read; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/74568-g1-clear-vision-smart-glass/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77063-what-pressure-washer-to-buy/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76260-snow-foam/ ;)

  6. No turn it off. Lets say you need power to do something and the traction control kicks in. Not good at all. It won't stop you slipping off into a ditch only if your ham fisting it. Plus the Z's tcs/vds isnt great. ABS in ice and snow is lethal too.

Ok so traction control off in the snow whilst driving a Zed no matter what. I thought it should be off for setting off but then turned on again once your moving but I stand corrected.
  7. Funny you should say that GMballistic as I had this conversation with my other half. I thought the same but he disagreed. I'm going to live with it a little while and see how I feel in the new year.

I guess it's something you could easily have done at a later date though if you wanted too. As long as you're happy with your car that's the main thing. ;) Looking forward to seeing the after pics.
  8. I can see in my profile there is a long list of the posts that I've made but how about a "View your posts" button up in the top right next to the "View new content" button so it's more accessible. With newest posts first so you can check on the most recent replies made by others. Just a thought. :)

  9. how do you mean? sorry but i really need an idiot's guide here; not done this before (ashamed to say it) myself..... any photos of this diff on the rear / jack?

what about torque wrench settings for the locking nuts please?

From what I've read it's around 80-90 ft/lbs torque for the standard nuts but I'm unsure if you should do the locking wheel nut's up to that setting or a slightly lower torque.
  10. TBH, I see your point now. I know Bulletmagnet uses his zed all year round, swaps to winter tyres (maybe wheels) when its cold enough and he's said before at the amount of range rovers etc he just drives by whilst they're driving on standard tyres.

The winter tyres will last years. I have them on the car normally by now, until march/april time, then swap them back again. Barely took the paint on the treds off them last year before they came off again and were stored in the garage.

I think where we live at least a winter car is a little OTT, but winter tyres is just good preparation.

Do people really turn TC off in the snow?? I can understand (and fully appreciate) how it may cause issues with getting away sometimes, but surely its a good thing to have enabled when driving on a slippy surface, does disabling it also disable the ESP, id definitely want that to stay on as it helps when breaking on slippery surfaces.

Basically it is a beneficial thing to have turned on but if your having trouble setting off in the snow as you described in your earlier post then you really should have turned it off. Once you get going in the snow/ice though it is best that you turn it back on, as you mentioned on slippery surfaces it can help you from slipping off the road and in to a ditch.:thumbs:
  11. Fix them with blutac then the first time you get up to speed they will be gone and you Zed will look great again :)

Don't be too quick to criticise - they look really good when you've got a Comic Relief Nose on the front grille - almost human.
