  1. Graham, I agree with all the above but would like to add that stepping down as a moderator doesn't let you completely off the hook. I am sure we will still see plenty of papa surf both on here and at events.

    Happy, moderator, retirement!

  2. I got £6.5k for mine last year 55 plate with 110,000 on the clock which given all the work done and the mileage I thought was reasonable - but I did have to haggle over two days to get it, originally offered £5k

  3. Declare Z as sorn for Dec, Jan, Feb by a runabout for peanuts sell it in March for similar money. Money saved on tax n fuel will go towards work plus you can stop worrying about the fluffy white stuff. Also, you don't have to worry about all the road salt causing rust and chips.

Mine is only a weekender anyway but sorn saves approx £150 and for the number of times I would use it in winter that's money worth saving !

  5. It was a lovely send off for Martin today, the church was packed with people, perfect speeches that brought a smile and a tear.

We passed on the thoughts and love from everyone here and Liz said she had received a printout of everyone's comments from the forum and was very touched.

There will be a big hole left for many people with martins passing. I was always so impressed with the way he went out of his way to help me out over the past 4-5 years on here. Then talking to people over the past few weeks and seeing all the posts on here you realise he was doing the same thing for loads of people. Going out of his way to help others out. He was a gem and will be greatly missed. The forum will not be the same without him.

Here was the token we passed on to Liz and the family. Great work Colin and stu for putting this together, a perfect tribute.

Joe - your dad really was a legend

Can I vote for this to be included in the 2016 calender plus the option to make a donation to a charity in Martin's name

  6. Enough posters have slated your speed so I won't bother, over the years i have have been caught speeding several times, best bet is be repentant and accept what is coming, at the speed you have posted the fine alone is likely to mean you need to sell the Z, as such I have to agree with those that say sell it, it can only make you look more repentant. Also, it really needs to be insured and taxed to be able to allow test drives etc so if you end up with a ban your insurance is likely to be invalid and it will be much harder to actually sell also, if potential buyers know you are banned they will offer silly money.

Good luck with the court date and hopefully you get a sympathetic hearing.

Whatever the outcome learn from the experience

  7. Mk2 Ford Escort, bought it in Jan '83 for £400 and got 'T' boned that easter in Newquay.

Shortest period I owned a vehicle was the Escort's predecessor, a brand new Honda MTX125 which I had for six whole weeks before having a head on with a Triumph TR7.

Neither accident was my fault but it was a period of financial pain and a step learning curve.
