  1. In all seriousness though I read Banzai and Japanese Performance.
  2. Also there's the Hard Rock Cafe there, never a bad meal or drinks in there!
  3. Go to Gorilla for decent bait, gin and cocktails. Go to the northern quarter for drinks, plenty of interesting bars there.
  4. I am, however I'm skint until further notice as I have Miami to pay for and also my massive service by you Lee!
  5. Cannit whack a bit a whackage!
  6. I never was good with abbreviations Lee! It was a module though, that I am certain about. You are a superstar Lee!
  7. So Lee came over this morning with literally every possible module that could have gone wrong...... Started by unplugging the ECU and checking that as the carpet was canny damp, but it seemed as if there weren't any obvious signs of water damage. The next check was for the BCM (body control module), and this is where it got interesting. We set about pulling all of the plastic nonsense away so that we could get the battery out and straight away it was obvious that water had been getting through. The back of the BCM was wet and once the battery was out we saw this.... Not sat in that hole.... As well as this..... Which would suggest the slightly damp carpet! So the gromet at the bottom was replaced and the gromet at the top clipped back into place and fully siliconed around the edge for peace of mind. Lee had a spare BCM (see above pile of boxes) and set about ripping the old one out, checked all the contacts (to which some had taken water on board due to the green tinge of them), and then installed the new BCM. We then reconnected the ECU and battery before coming to the moment of truth......firing the beast up......and boy did she! Couple of blasts of the smiley pedal confirmed that everything was back to normal and then we switched her off. All plastic nonsense was refitted and an oil top up was done before Aaron and myself took off down the road for a Parmo. I can't thank Lee enough for coming and pulling me out of the shite, I've only known him for a fortnight but the guy is a legend and probably one of the most clued up lads I've ever come across. I won't trust anyone else to get the job done right and at such short notice too! Over the moon it wasn't the ECU either!!!!!!!!
  8. OK so maybe I lied a little bit. Here's me and me kid sis in Manchester a couple of weeks ago when my beard was in it's maturity. But now it is gone....and this is what I look like normally, with wife in tow. The beard will return!
  9. The fault comes straight back on after reset. I'm guessing that the ECU is herped! PM me a price for a preowned one please Alex.
  10. I know! Bad sheeeeit always happens on a weekend. But it has to happen on the weekend before I start my new job.......that I need a car for!
  11. Alreet! So I have ECU issues, my car is showing the P0605 code on the OBDII reader and with absolutely no electrical ability whatsoever I cannot diagnose whether it is the ECU that is Tommy Tucked or if it is the wiring that is shorting out. I need an auto electrician in the North East that can get to the bottom of this for me sharpish, preferably one who knows Zeds! Please help me someone, or at least point me in the right direction. Cheers Phil
  12. Ha! That is gonna be monster tricky!
  13. Need to get this sorted by monday, auto electrician call out I'm guessing?
  14. Ok..... P0605 Powertrain control module ROM error. Sounds expensive
  15. Would have to happen tonight when we've got the driveabout meet organised for Sunday...
  16. Got an OBD reader waiting for me at home so I'll keep you guys updated.
  17. Managed to do the pedal dance eventually but the light just comes straight back on and the problem remains. Balls
  18. Yeah, tried the pedal dance but I can't do it successfully
  19. So cruising along at 70mph and I lose throttle and the engine management light comes on along with the brake sensor light. I pull onto the hard shoulder and when I press the throttle it only goes to 1500rpm. I switch it off and then fire it up 3 mins later and it allows me to rev it up once before returning to the same 1500rpm max. Any ideas for a quick fix or am I recovery trucking it home? Stuck next to Newton Aycliffe northbound. Just spoke to the breakdown service and the missus didn't even bother to get breakdown cover. £168 lighter.....marvellous
  20. That second one looks dreadful in my opinion. Decent mileage but the black vinyl on the rear quarters to give the impression that it's an R8 is gross. But that's my opinion. Each to their own. Listen to what the others have said, don't rush into it and definitely go and see the cars. The 350z can be expensive to fix, even for proper trivial stuff.
  21. Satin anthracite darling......satin anthracite.
