Chris, the 3rd pic was done using a 'fat gecko' mount on the bonnet, 15 second exposure as I rolled the car forward, friend off to the right holding a couple of lights...pop of the flash against the steering wheel about 12 seconds in. Done. I feel your pain Humpy. I ended up getting rid of my first cam due to the shoddy remote business.

My renewal is up next monday. All the comparison sites, it seems, allow me to put in that my Z is an import. When calling them up and remind them it's an import, they don't want to insure me! The quotes i'm getting appear to be more than my Range Rover Sport 4.2 Supercharged! 34 years old. 10 years NCB. Portsmouth. Am I really that much of a liability?

Ok, so it's not quite a cubby but it may as well have been as the Jap Satnav is a waste of time: Took the screen out. Made a surround with hole for power. Velcro backed the Garmin so I can take it out if needs be. Left the Jap control plate in 'for effect'.

Got my new purchase back from the garage today. Needs a new clutch & nearside window motor, apart from that they tell me the car is cool, not a spot of rust on it, new exhaust, brakes, all good. Replaced the missing wheel nut and sorted the levels, back in on Friday for the work. In to the tinters on Wednesday to do the rear windows (for security). Ripping off the horror vinyl job on the bonnet and boot - leaving the roof on as I like it. Installers on Thursday for a nice new double din, amp and sub and custom mounting my satnav in place of the Jap rubbish... So by the weekend my Z should be ready for the road!...I haven't had it a week yet!

Hello all. My recent Z purchase came with a bonnet, roof and boot 'wrap' job...which leaves a lot to be desired. I think it's carbon 'effect' as you don't get the little diamonds left when you try to pull it off. It's more a vinyl. Any tips how to safely remove it? I hear a hot gun will do the job. Any risk of paintwork coming off? What's the best way to get rid of the glue underneath once off? I'd like to leave the roof job on but take off the bonnet and boot gubbins. It's only been on for 5 odd weeks.

Thanks for such a warm welcome guys Car is booked into the garage for a full checkover and to fix the niggles on Monday. Into Sextons on Thursday for the install...now to find some wheels... Please excuse my utter noobness. wheel wise, on a 53 plate jap, will anything fit? Can I just get a set of Rays from anywhere and whack them straight on? Then what?...
