Haha... he looked at me like I had two heads when I was telling him about it as it is, not sure he'd have taken it very well if I told him the solution was to open the fuel tank up.

To be fair this was before I fitted the extra fuel pump so my solution was to brim the tank every 2 sessions.

    Aghhh fair enough

Yeah some people refuse to touch there cars

But it isn't stupid if it works :p

    Thanks, much appreciated!

I wish I'd started mine sooner to be honest, by the time I got the ball rolling I'd already done a fair bit. Initially I was unsure if people would be interested as like you say a 370z on a track day is pretty rare and a Nismo even rarer - that said I do know I'm not the only one in the UK who has tracked a Nismo but potentially the only one who does regular track days and has b*stardised the car to suit (that I know of anyway). There are a few 370Z gt's I've seen on instagram that get regular UK track action though.

Only ever seen one other 370z on a day I've attended... bit of a funny story really. Was some bloke who didn't really know what he was getting himself in to. He came over to me after a couple of sessions complaining of engine issues, turns out he was suffering from fuel starve. When I asked him how much fuel was in it he told me he chucked £20 in it first thing in the morning and thought that would do it 🤣 - I managed to keep a straight face because after all everyone has to start somewhere. My advise was top the tank off and it will be fine but he just went home.

Didn't you point him in the direction of the tried and tested solution

I'm sure they come alive more with some money spent, but I'm too tight for that and as the V1 is quite rare I wouldn't want to stray far from oem spec! Had the car fully serviced at £650 which is important to me and very surprised it was the same price for a specialist to do a full service on my 987.2 Cayman S!!!

    Yeah all fair points

Going through a phase of trying different cars, after an M3 and a Cayman S the Zed doesn't quite drive quite like them! Although the styling is bang on😎

The zed dose need quite a lot of mods to sharpen up the handling and get it feeling nailed down but when you do its great

You need to be committed to the platform to start spending on that though

Just had a good read through, loving the journey with this car! I can't bring myself to modify my V1 too much and I'm not sure if it is because of their rarity of whether I'm just tight🤣

Good to see you using it for more the actual purpose of a Nismo!🤗

One of the reasons I've stayed away from getting the mk1

I'd love one but I definitely would bolt my blower straight on it 😅

Seems some of the Nismo's had an fluid leak of some kind that got into the clutch housing, but no idea regarding the GT cars, that was the reason i went Auto last time.

The slave cylinder fails its a well know fault

The Cayman is the first car I have had with TPMS up on the dash, I was amazed at how much it fluctuates depending on conditions and the way I am driving. On a recent track day I went out at the "performance" pressure of 33psi and was shocked to see them climb up to 40, relatively quickly. I always thought it would only be 2-3 psi changes.

Yeah exactly that its definitely worth keeping a little gauge to hand if you're out for a play

    Nice shots 🆒

Love the nerdy stuff, what did you learn about pressures?

    Cheers stu

For the most part we were all starting the day off a little to high and then we just kept nipping a bit out of them to keep them on point.

Just need to remember to check them each morning when they are cold

But even when its raining and you don't think they would generate much heat or presure they do.

Possibly nothing new to most but I was surprised how much you could keep nipping a bit out of them to keep them on point

  9. Not much to report mods wise

I had the geo set up at string theory prior to our Scotland trip

I've added a few photos of the trip and the amazing roads we got to drive with minimal traffic

The zed performed pretty dam well with bags of grip even in the wet on the mps4s .

Even more grip was found when one of the guys with us who races played with everyone's tyre pressure constantly so that was eye opening

I also got to spend the day driving my pals gt3 rs which ofcourse is on another level in performance but also in cost

I have a plans for winter with the car as after this trip I have pretty much decided with the mods done to date not much out there offers the price vs performance for me

Came across this great app. Enables android auto onto the unit. Once setup, just connect your phone via USB, or WiFi and it automatically loads android auto on your phone and the android unit. Great for those who want the stock Google experience.

£4 for the app. There is a trial version that lets you use the app for 5mins.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gb.xxy.hr

Sorry I'm not very tech savy dose this app work on our stock screen ?

    Or just with the box

I realy fancy the android box but I can't justify it just yet

Probably bang average really. I'd just take it off then take it into work to use the big boy press on it... unless im missing something?

I follow @350Butcher's build thread... absolute mega car one of my favourites on here

No not missing anything its just realy bloody awkward to get the arm in the press but sounds like you might have that coverd with yours  ...it took all 10 tonne of Martins press

The tricky part is getting in behind the collar

I realy should of documented this for people ..I  couldn't find anything on Google for it

Sounds like a job to take my time over and do through the winter then.

Yeah just the subframe collars, diff brace and diff bushing at the moment plus the bushings that come in the front and rear camber arms so still plenty left to do. Looking at chassis bracing as well, the price of the Soul function stuff is eye watering through.

I dont know what your tool kit and skill set is but if you need any help speak to @350Butcher hes got the kit and the process nailed down and is always happy to help a nice chap out with a track oriented nismo for a few beer tokens  :p

Just  a thought if you don't want to struggle with them

That big bush is a pig

Surely you could have gone to the local Kwik Fit who have the same equipment as CG and ask them to align to the spec that CG gave with print out.....

I suppose ypu are right  but I have changed the ball joints on the camber arms up front as well so are they going to want to be on and off with wheels adjusting camber arms 🤔

This is going on my to do list!

    Definitely worth it

Also Definitely an arse of a job

what other bushes have you done ?those z1 subframe collars for the rear  make a fantastic difference and are super easy to install

I think most of mine is pollybushed now bar a couple of bits
