Need some rear discs and pads, where is best place to buy from these days ? Used to use Cougar Store but not sure if still open ?

    They are i believe

I just fitted some pagid oe replacements and pfc pads they stop me a treat and for a reasonable price

  2. After fitting the subframe collars I got a annoying rattle which turned out to be drop links I just couldn't hear them before

So on with some new oem drop links and the noise has gone

Then it was time to wash off wales

The engine bay is going to looking very different soon the new supercharger kit is imminent so busy autumn ahead

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. It’s taken 30+ years of driving , having to work away from home and waiting for the kids to grow up and leave the nest before finally being in a position to buy my dream car.

Only had it a few days so can’t give much of a review yet, but I can some it up in one word - WOW! Having just had a 575bhp TTrs I thought there wouldn’t be much difference in performance (which tbh in a straight line there probably isn’t), but this car is in another league. The handling is unreal, and all I keep hearing is how this is an ‘everyday supercar’ - it certainly is, docile in comfort settings and an animal in dynamic!
The best analogy I can think of is my TT was like a star player in a good Championship team, whereas the R8 is like a superstar in a top Premier Legue team.

Congratulations sounds like its been a long time due

quick update from the weekend. Took the garage i booked the car in at over 2 hours to remove the chocolate Eibach nuts, they are now destroyed but at least they are off! Raised the issue with Eibach and they literally couldn't give a monkeys! I wont be spending anymore money there thats for sure.

Either way it meant I could fit the fresh discs and pads ready for Anglesey in a couple of weeks. Spacer are back on now with some proper steel nuts this time.

Also checked my catch cans. They are certainly doing they're job and have stopped a considerable amount of sludge going anyway near the maf's or throttle bodies. Definitely worth while for anyone who wants to drive one of these cars hard.

Went for a good 4 hour blast out round Wales yesterday as well (should have taken some pictures).

Fuel tank is now suitably empty so i can attempt to fit the additional fuel pump over the weekend along with diff bushing, diff brace, subframe collars and engine mounts (a lot to do in a day but I'll see how i get on).

Nice list of jobs to do there

You will notice the difference in the rear end with those bits

Throw the vibratechnics gearbox mount on the list you won't regret it B)

Hi all, if a 370z had an ecutek map applied when the car had stillen intakes and cat back exhaust but was then put back to OEM intakes and exhaust, would the remap need to be removed also? Would it run badly or over fuel etc if left in place?

    ta

    Michael

    Was the car decated?

Because if it wasn't I dont see it being a major issue as long as you dont redline it

Whos the tuner ask them to send you a updated file and load it on job done

In other news, additional fuel pump is here courtesy of @nissanman312, so i big thanks to him for sorting this out! Just need a few more bits and that will be ready for fitting and testing.

All parts are from Protec, so should be no issues with quality.

Short term plan for testing, I think I am just going to wire it to a 12v plug, route it to inside the armrest console and simply plug it in when at the track, before hard wiring it in with a switch further down the line.

    Looking good mate

Mines been in a good while now and hasn't given me any issues and allows me to run to empty without suffering starvation

Protec are having my car in soon to design a purpose built kit for the problem but for now that should keep you lapping  on less than quarter tanks :D

    Thank you.

If the Miltek 370z system was still available I'd get another one of them, not decided yet on system but definitely getting HFCs when it's time and cash allows.

Unless she has my Z as a daily and this one is sold? ;)

If you do let me know Danny from our rally wanted one:thumbs:

Car is looking spot on mate!

Thanks again for dropping the fuel pump and parts off Saturday mate. Really appreciate it.

I am considering the rear subframe collars as well whilst I'm under there sorting the diff bushing out. Would you recommend them and was it an easy enough job?

Cheers pal and no worries on the pump

Yeah I definitely recommend them and not har to fit especially if you are dropping the diff out

Get yourself the vibratechnics gearbox mount as well it all nits together and stiffens the chassis up nicely and makes it a much more connected drive

  9. Next little mod to the list to was the z1 subframe collars.

After the success of the gearbox mount I thought this would be a good next step towards getting rid of play in things

There is no confusion in the rear now mid corner and on power out of corners

There was a second where it felt like the rear axle needed to settle which gave a vague feeling to the back of the car thats gone.

The trade off is a very small amount of increased nvh but only when traveling slowly as soon as your exhaust kicks in you won't hear it.

Its another step further towards a nice focused road bias car
