  1. Thanks for the responses, gives me something to think about. Might just go with Pagid discs and DS2500 pads.
  2. I think the price is ok, well I hope it is as I recently paid £6,250 for a 04 plate GT with Rays, 70k miles and fully documented history
  3. It's not very well written, with some bad spelling mistakes. Doesn't mean it hasn't been looked after but doesn't give a good impression!
  4. Hi All, I'm new to Zed ownership and I need new front discs and pads. I think the current brakes fitted to my car are standard and are not quite good enough for me, but not sure whether that it because they need replacing or they are normally like that. I don't intend to track the car, so quick road use is all I need. I don't want to skimp on brakes, but also don't want to spend unnecessary money on expensive brakes that I won't see any benefit from. I had the car at TGM Fleet on saturday for a look over, and he suggested Pagid discs with either brembo pads or DS2500 pads for a bit more bite. This would cost about £250 before fitting which seems reasonable, but unsure whether the Pagid discs would be up to it. I like the idea of Brembo or DBA discs, but £200 more is lot of money if I won't get the benefit. The inbetween discs seem to be Black Diamond or EBC, and these seem to have very mixed reviews. What do people think?

    Wheel Spacers

Do these alter the Geo at all? If I wanted to get some would I have to factor in cost for a new allignment?
  6. Get yourself in there buddy, they are top notch and several members and ex owners have used them in the past, speak to Tom, he's the owner and a really nice knowledgeable guy **edit** And you obviously know that having now read your post properly Cheers, yes Tom has looked after 2 EP3 type r's of mine in the past and he definitely knows his stuff! Good to know he works on a few 350Z's too
  7. What are TGM like with the 350Z? I've just bought a 350Z and as I live in Fleet it would be a lot easier for me to use them than travel to a 350Z specialist. Have used them a lot in the past with Honda's and always been very happy.
  8. I pay £340 with Admiral, 31 years old, 11 years no claims.
  9. I've just picked up a 2004 Azure blue 350Z GT with Rays, it is in great condition overall for the age. On the trip back I took it down one of my favourite B-roads and was a bit disappointed, it did not feel as responsive and chuckable as previous cars due to the weight. When I got home I discovered I couldn't get it onto my driveway without grounding the mid section of the exhaust (it's not even lowered!) things were not looking good..... But I've now found I can get one and off the drive if I go in at an angle. I then took it out for another drive and realised why I bought it, I have to remember its not an out and out sports car and more of a GT car. Loving the sound especially! I've already ordered a Stubby, new number plates (the current ones are a bit tired), a new tax disc holder and some retro fit Bosch flat wiper blades. I don't plan to do much to it as I am a less is more guy. I am considering some spacers for the wheels and then a geo setup to ensure it's all alligned, then possibly some Berk hi flow cats.
  10. Might want to try TGM in Fleet, they are a Honda specialist and mainly deal with CTRs, integras and s2000 but they do work on all cars and I think the owner does/did have a 350Z. They are very highly regarded in the Honda world and did a fantastic job setting up the Geo on my old Civic.
  11. Might be worth having a look at a Lotus forum like SELOC and searching there, a lot of Elises/Exiges get sold to European buyers, as they offer much better value. When I was selling my Exige I had 2 queries from Europe for every 1 from the UK. It was actually a UK buyer in the end but it is fine to sell overseas as long as you do the correct checks. I think there maybe something a bit funky with the V5 as it's being exported, but can't remember if that's the buyer or sellers responsibility.
  12. Budget is up to 8k, but it would need to tick all the boxes and be in excellent condition. Would prefer to stay closer to 7k
  13. Thanks for the link to you're ad, nice looking car, however I really want the rays alloys so will update my post, good luck with the sale!
  14. Hello, I've just sold my Mk 5 Gti, so looking for a Zed Must have:- Full service history, NIssan or specialist No accident history GT pack and rays alloys UK car Coupe (not roadster) Ideally Black or Azure blue (will consider other colours) Under 80k miles, but will consider higher if good history and sensibly priced. Sensible mods - nothing slammed/silly bodykits I have cash waiting and happy to travel for the right car, so if you are thinking of selling please let me know
  15. Well as an update I sold my Mk 5 Gti today after having ot for sale for 3 weeks. This means I can officially start looking for a Zed I've got money burning a hole in my pocket for a pre 06 coupe, must have full service history and no accident history. Ideally Black or Azure blue but might consider any colour if the history/price are right!
  16. Saw this car today and it looked great, and very clean! I'm considering a 350Z as next car, although recently been swaying towards a 3.0 Z4, but seeing your car has given me second thoughts and I'm looking at zeds again. Looked like it had spacers, whats the setup you have and also is it lowered?
  17. Sunbury Cross area, standard alloys (rather than Rays) sounded good
  18. As a new member, who might be in the market for a 350Z next month, this is encouraging to read from a buyers point of view, but also concerns over problems I would have selling in the future.... I guess the market for impractical thirsty cars with a non-pregious badge is tiny. When I've sold previous cars they have normally gone pretty quickly, including Type R's and a Lotus, most impressive was my girlfriends Polo 1.4 TDi, Ihad 5 calls on the first day and sold 3 days later to the first person who viewed for the full asking price. But people want small diesels.
  19. No biase there actually your colour scheme looks the same as my old Lotus
  20. Fortunately (or not) I am a relative short a*se so can fit into most cars! Might try and make it to a meet before hand to see peoples cars in the flesh, I live in Hampshire/Surrey area, and seems a few owners around.
  21. Thanks, yes I need a good test drive in an s2000 to see whether I gel with it, have driven one on track before but found the engine frustrating (and I am used to vtec). I think the Golf has given me a taste for torque, which the 350Z doesn't seem to lack!
  22. Hi there, currently driving a Mk 5 Golf Gti which has been great, but will start commuting by train again next month so want something slightly more exciting to drive at the weekends. Annual mileage will be about 3/4k so mpg isn't an issue. I'll will have a budget of about £8k, so will be looking at UK Coupes pre 06 to avoid the tax hike. Also considering a 3.0 Z4, Boxster S or maybe a s2000. Interent stories of engine rebuilds are putting me off the boxster and the other 2 are not quite as appealing as the 350Z. I did have an 06 Roadster for a weekend back in 2006 when Nissan were offering extended test drives and I did enjoy the drive. Previous to the Golf I have had a few Civic Type R's and a Lotus Exige. I've joined the forum to read up on all the potential issues to look out for in my search! Also need to look over photos to decide what colour I want, think gunmetal or blue is winning at the moment! Dave
