  1. Got this on ebay, not a bad colour match, but wheels are not as good as the Rays
  2. Interesting, do you know what caused it?
  3. I'm in Woking with an OBD reader if you wanted to pop up/down/across/whatever direction it is! Thanks for the offer, really appreciate it. Will let you know when is good although away this weekend so probably the following week if you're free
  4. Video with the error code, any ideas?
  5. I'm in Fleet, Hampshire so not too close to Fetcham, will look for that Sticky to see if there is anyone close who might be able to help Will upload video tonight to see if anyone can make sense of the flashing!
  6. Specifically, the Engine Malfunction light, ESP not on and loss of traction lights, all appeared at the same time. Happened yesterday, I drove down to Goodwood for the Italian themed breakfast club without any issues, got there and drove across a slightly bumpy field with wet long grass, parked up and went to see the cars. On returning to my car, it struggled to start but it did eventually, and it was then that I noticed the 3 warning lights. I got it off the grass and checked the manual which confirmed fine to drive, but got it home carefully. I left it for a while, tried starting again, and it struggled again, warning lights still on. A friend suggested that condensation from the wet grass/Hot engine exhaust combo may be the problem with the starting, and other thought is maybe I've knocked some sensor underneath. Does anyone have any ideas? Following the guide on here, I did the complicated procedure for an error code check, and filmed it but it doesn't make any sense to me, so I will try uploading it later to see if someone can shed any light on it.
  7. I had the spacers fitted by a well regarded Honda specialist, who said that geo wouldn't be affected by the spacers and I trust their opinion, but I can see that any inaccuracies would be exagerated by the extra width. Anyway, I will get it booked in for a proper alignment and see if it improves.
  8. Still not sorted, checked tyre pressures, all fine, tyres are all in condition and match on the axles so can't see that it's the problem. I think this only leaves the geo, so will get it checked out, but it was absolutely fine before the spacers. Will be putting them up for sale in the classifieds if I do decide to take them off.
  9. I would get a decent test drive in both and then make your mind up, although it's not always easy to get good test drives. I've had my Zed a couple of months, and did consider an s2000 having driven them a few times previously. I am really enjoying the Zed, but in hindsight I think a lighter, higher revving sports car suits me more, so I'd go for an s2000 given the choice again. I'm going to stick with the Zed a bit longer and maybe change to an s2000 next year. They are very different cars. One thing I would say against the s2000, is that they have very high insurance costs for a reason, they can be tail happy, and almost dangerous if vtec kicks in on a wet/cold bend. It is essential to have a good geo and decent tyres on them. This shouldn't be a problem if you drive carefully if those conditions and take time to learn the car.
  10. I know these are considered a must have mod by many on here, but having had some Eibach 20/25mm spacers fitted to my Zed a couple of weeks ago, I can't say I am really enjoying it that much. I find the car tramlines more and the steering is less precise, I did expect a small change but it's affected the drive more than I expected, and suspect I will have them taken off. The car looks far better on with them, but the drive really has suffered. The advice is often to check the geo, but it had a geo about 6 months ago (with previous owner) and it felt great before the spacers, so doubt another geo is going to fix it. Is there anything else I should check before I have them taken off?
  11. Yesterday, a black 07 plate Zed on the A331 and later a silver 53 plate parked in Morrisons Fleet
  12. Ok thanks for letting me know, will PM Tarmac
  13. I realise I've probably missed the boat with this one, but if anyone has a change of heart then please let me know and I'll take your place!
  14. I had 2 EP3 type R's and a Mk 5 Golf Gti. The Zed is very different to drive, and hardly any quicker but I find it more of an event to drive. The lack of practicality is a bit of a pain, as the hatches were great for trips to dump, DIY store, mountain bike etc.

    Wheel spacers

Considering some Eibach 20/25mm spacers and wanted to confirm a few things. Firstly, it shouldn't upset the geo, but it will exagerate any problems with the current alignment, is that right? Secondly, if I got a Geo done after to check, there is no need for any camber bolts etc providing I want a stock Geo, and not a fast road setup? Any thirdly, any pics of a standard 350Z on rays with spacers would be greatly appreciated! I don't plan on lowering it, as it scraps my driveway as it is!
  17. No there are other options, and you'd be silly to use semi slicks in winter unless being very careful. Cost wise, they have toyota engines so very reliable as long as serviced correctly, and a service is normally between £200-350. Costs start to go up if things go wrong, the air conditioning is known to have problems for example, and it's a labour intensive job as the whole clam has to come off. It's about £1000 fix. With Lotus, it's all about the little niggles and quirks. The remote central locking on mine would not work unlesss I was holding the fob over the roof for example.
  18. I had an Exige, great fun and also hold their value very well. Mine was an S2 N/A, so had just 190bhp but in something that weights just 850kg it is a quick car. The supercharged ones are a bit quicker but plenty more torque. They are cheapish to run, servicing not that expensive at specialists, easily over 30mpg, but the semi slick tyres are a bit pricey. They have so much grip it's unreal, and fantatsic steering feedback. Downsides are obviously not very practical, had to wear ear plugs on motorway trips, and have to take extreme care with speed humps, multistory car parks etc. I have never driven a Noble so can't compare, but you should definitely try an Exige.
  19. Welcome, I've had 2 EP3's and recently got a 350Z, also on the Civic forum, you might have seen the pics of my Zed on there. Very different car to the EP3, but I'm really enjoying the Zed
  20. Tempted to get these while the deal is good, but can anyone tell me whether these would hang lower than the standard cats? The heat sheilds on mine are catching the lip on my driveway, so can't afford to go any lower there!

    Black Diamond Discs

They look good, how do you find the performance of them?
  22. Thanks, I'm looking at 140bhp version, the GTD would be great but they hold their value so well that it's out of reach. As for Fabia VRS suggestion, I do like them but they are getting on a bit now and want something newer and lower mileage. They do seem to hold their value very well, but that seems to make them poor value to be given their age.
  23. Hello, Apologies for the slightly dull topic, but I am looking at these to replace a A1 TDI that my gf uses. It's a company car and I want out of the scheme to save a bit of cash and get something bigger. I'm looking at low mileage Mk VI TDI's, the Match spec looks really good and has either the 1.6TDI or 2.0TDI engine. We have the 1.6 in the Audi, and I find it a bit slow, but very economical. I'd like the 2.0 as I will drive it a fair bit as well, but worried the economy might not be good enough. Any experiences of them? And before anyone suggests a hot hatch or something, it will do 20k miles a year, so needs to be economical, comfy and reliable
  24. Well here it is, collected last week. 2004, 73k miles, full history and in pretty good condition. It needs new front brakes, and the clutch has never been changed which I think means it doesn't have long left! Otherwise very happy with it, love the colour and sound. It is very planted and handles well, but I have to remember it's a mini GT car and not a sports car! I live in Fleet Hampshire, so look out for me if local Previous cars in order of most recent 2005 Mk 5 Gti - owned for a year, great all rounder, could attack a B-road but also cruise in a motorway, far more economical than the Zed.. 2004 CTR, my second CTR and should not have gone back to one, it's a mistake to have a car twice, as great as they are. 2006 Exige N/A - Owned for a year before I needed the money towards a house deposit, absolutely fantastic car, miss it badly and will have another one day! 2004 CTR - owned for 5 years, was my first quickish car and loved it.
