  1. The dates are 3016,2816,3616,3616 I don't actually have a tread depth gauge unfortunately, but the fronts look close to 10mm and the rear 8mm........(I'll see if I can find a ruler later)
  2. Full set of the above in std Rays 350z sizes. Taken from a set of wheels I've purchased, they have very little and even wear across all 4 tyres. No damage and no repairs Cheapest place I can find the very same tyres is tyreleader £250 collected from Warwick Maybe able to deliver or meet somewhere if you're interested let me know where you are
  3. Eh Willis we are all the same kind of idiots here mate!! You've got to get these things when they come up sometimes! Funny enough I was looking out for stop spots so you could average out your speed to please the local constabulary! Its the first time I've actually been on the infamous cat&fiddle but I have driven all round the peak district "snake pass" being a highlight to drive and you can see that it could be a seriously fast section of road, no junctions and really well sighted..........so I can see why they took that final step to control it. Sargara.........I cant say anything about that crowd really, I used to very much be one of them!!
  4. As mentioned above regarding the mods I like ......this is my old Evo 5 all fully forged 420Hp and 1300Kgs of it.......when I came to selling this after 6 years and writing out the spec sheet the only things I'd not either replaced or fully rebuilt was the transfer box and the shell/body!! Got such great memories with this car and I'm not sure I'll ever have a car as fast from A to B........that said the Z is a more rewarding drivers car as it takes more from 'you' to drive fast so its challenging and therefore rewarding. Its also such a well balanced car on the limit........the Evo always had a bit of understeer that you couldn't fully dial out, that said though you just flicked it sideways at will to deal with it was great fun! Had to fit the wheel weights to the outside of the wheels as they hit the calipers!! Alcons with RS29's and Ohlins!!
  5. Cheers! Good luck with your plans.......can honestly say its a lot of effort but the rewards are there.....so much so I'd really like to build a hi compression bottom end and swap in the 280 cams next time its in bits! I've always been in to the driving and performance mods for my cars...........keeping up with latest trends seems just as expensive while traveling slower in most cases it seems
  6. You'll have to grab a set of these http://www.demon-twe...CFc2d7QodAP0FJg
  7. Impressed that you started with "Been toying with the idea of selling up" and ended with "a new toy arrived"............good job! Little mazda looks like it should be great fun and the MK will be even more of a weapon on slicks! Never driven on slicks but know people who have/do and say the difference is massive over normal road legal track rubber. Drove past the Cat & Fiddle on my way to Manchester airport the other day and was shocked to see all the average speed cameras! Really hope that doesn't become the norm, never seen them on anything other than duel carriageways before that.
  8. Definitely! Although like buses I see another set have now come up for sale on here.............typical eh!
  9. Cheers, looking forward to wrapping them in fresh AD08R's and getting them on...........they feel quite a bit lighter than the 19" version that are on the car currently. I'd like to book it again sometime......shame its just SO far away for us! Well if you make it to Donny that can be arranged mate!
  10. Cheers for the reply. I had a look at JP, they gave me quite a good price too but are about an hour from me. I was hoping to find somewhere more local............I'll obviously travel though to get a good job Its actually the diamond cut that I don't like (just not my thing) and am looking to get them done in normal alloy wheels silver.
  11. So I finally secured myself a set of 18" LMGT4's and am looking to get them refurbished before fitting the new tyres. The wheels have been done before but don't look damaged at all and are in great condition so I'm doing this for the colour change rather than for repairs. Just want to make sure they go somewhere good! These guys have all positive reviews, I can't find any dirt on the web about them and are only 15mins down the road, anyone used them? www.alloywheelrefurbishment-uk.co.uk/ Cheers
  12. Also........after 5 years of waiting and looking at the "for sale" section these arrived today courtesy of Stuggerz! I can finally put the car on 18" LMGT4's
  13. Ha Ha!! Yeah first time there and properly loved it, great little track with a bit of everything, wish it was the coastal layout though as the cork screw looks nice to drive through. Obviously I've changed quite a bit in one hit but the 3.9 final drive should be high up on peoples mod list as it makes it so much keener and not so frustrating having to pull a really long gear and with the new engine pulling so much harder too it was perfect............and still very good for the long drive up too. Cheers! The surface is good other than that bump between club and school at the fastest point of the lap! But then that's all the character of circuits isn't it and part of the challenge and the thrill of driving them....we arrived to it wet and I was surprised (and pleased) that it's actually quite predictable still which was a bonus for my first track outing in current spec. It was oversteer that was commented on but as you say it is an understeer track mostly cos everything is such a late apex so you're waiting for the front and to get on the power! That's why I like a firm rear (eh!) so it's happy to move on power and neutralise any understeer through those long tight corners. Did we say its a great track............its a great track Be good to meet you at Donny. Hope you get the MK sorted if not you've got a decent back up! Totally agree, as I've said before I really rate the Zed in all uses from nipping down the road to big euro blasts to track work......I certainly didn't know it was gonna be that good when I bought one either, I just wanted something totally different to the Evo I'd had for 6 years previously and that I could't compare to in any way so coupe, rwd and n/a V6 engine plus I'd always had a soft spot for them made it an easy decision! I do quite like hussling a proper car around on road and circuit too so I'd always stick with "big" cars and luckily when I want to have a go in a little pocket rocket my brother is very generous with the keys to his Vxr220!
  14. Cheers! Glad its given you some ideas for yours, there's not too much I'd change if I did it all over again. Its still completely driveable and usable but with far higher ability on track which was always the goal. The Zed is a great road car whether its a little drive out or full on euro road trip. And hussling it round an alpine pass or track it steps up the fun again! Before the Zed's I had an Evo 5 for 6years that I took quite far with mods too and although it was way faster A to B or over the course of a lap of a track I can honestly say getting the Zed up on its toes and moving around underneath is so much more rewarding to drive! Hence why I sourced this HR car and did what I've done in this build! It is a shame not more people use these cars on track cos you never see them out but each to there own suppose............but they are missing out! Well obviously I agree with that........but then I would!! Enjoy your car mate!!
  15. Even managed to make it on to Harrys Laptimer Hall of Fame for my efforts in some quick company! It only actually worked for 2 sessions which is disappointing but I'm happy with that and the best sectors making a 1:49 dead
  16. Cheers! Yeah does sound so good (the camera still doesn't capture it all either) and the engine just pulls so much harder than before with no weak/flat spots like it had previously too so well happy with how it performed. The cars on Bilstein PSS10's with Eibach bars. Had the rears on 1 from hardest and the fronts only 2 from hardest which was actually pretty good and quite neutral but to be honest the day got warmer through out and I got faster as I learnt the track better so I was constantly dropping air out the tyres through out as they ran hotter and hotter and that vid starts after I'd been out for about 10mins at a good pace already and I think the tyre pressure got up a bit again and the rear started losing grip more and more as the laps went by.
  17. Finally ticked Anglesey off my circuits to do list........and what can you say! Its an absolute cracker!! We were very lucky on the day as there rain only minutes away all day but never over the track, so after a damp start it soon dried up and we set off. Its a really tricky circuit, loads of very late apex's, off camber, fast, slow bends and all within a relatively short lap. But as a result it makes it really rewarding when you can string some laps together. Was double happy it was dry because I really wanted to try out the new engine setup and lower final drive and I am happy to say it has delivered on exactly what I wanted from it.....pulling hard all the way to to redline and being able to work the 'box a little more to keep it on song. Here's a little session that was really good fun as I had my brother chasing me in the first few laps then I let him through and did my best at hanging on to him................can't wait to go again!! Few pics from Circuit Days And back at the hotel where we were staying with my Brother's VXR220 and my mate Mo's M3 Csl
  18. Just put my name down for this, cheers! Don't do many show things, will it just be rock up and state your name at the gate and drive on in?
  19. They haven't but I think by end of June it should be available, its so close to the other Nissan mounts that its nothing drastic for them to engineer just a slight tweek to what they already have. But so far everything from stand still to B-road blast its been perfect, really positive, precise shifts. Yes the new manifolds do bark a bit but they're not massively louder than before as the system has a few boxes on it, even with that though I am fairly nervous about noise limits! At least Anglesey is a 105dB day, I'd like to try the decebeldevil that Rob has mentioned but I'm not sure they'll go on my tail pipe design, think I may have to get a custom Y-pipe with larger baffle ultimately to make sure I'm OK for places like Donington with 98Db.............crazy that you can drive to the track making as much noise as you want then you have strangle it while you drive round!
  20. Good work Rich, glad you're happy with the results. Just for info when I did all my homework on finding a uprated gearbox mount I approached vibra technics and asked them to make one for me as I wanted all the benefits of the uprated mount without the increase nvh and they delivered! I've got the prototype on my car and it's superb, it's got final test at Anglesey at the end of the month then providing all OK it'll go into production so I'd advice waiting for that if you can
  21. Yeah they were my go to place........no probs
  22. Can't see anywhere that lists these. Looking for good quality left and right side air ducts/nostrils to fit through standard bumper if anyone can help or knows where to go? Cheers
  23. There's plenty of people on here that seem to be doing this to their Z......... Always makes me think, do people really stand back after doing this and think........yes!! That's loads better!!
  24. Didn't spot this...............hope to see you there then...........Donny flows so nice and sliding down craner curves never gets boring!!
