  1. I haven't received any updates yet lol But fingers crossed not long to go
  2. Yea, I was expecting slightly better service as well. I'm not in a rush, but just want to get items I paid for!
  3. I'm still waiting What email have you contacted them on?
  4. "Fixthebog" I bet they had a very long and stressful time thinking about the name for the website
  5. Happy birthday mate! Have a great day!
  6. Yea, after I turned it down it started making noise about 2hts later. So I have it a tap, like Dan said, and it's ok so far lol If it happens again, I just get landlord to sort it out
  7. Yea, it's one of the older ones with screw holding it down...but that screw is rounded off lol so I'm not touching it any more...unless it makes a noise again
  8. Right...this is kind of embarrassing and annoying There are no tank in the loft or anything else (shows how much landlord knows about her house ). Sorry Dan for wasting your time to type up guide about replacing the valve. Cant hear that noise in the loft either. So that crossed out. Noise only can be heard in the bathroom. Toilet is fine. Taps are ok. So checked radiator and found it... TRV was making that noise...probably a bit faulty? But I turned it a little bit (closer it a bit) - and noise is gone and 1hr later still not re-appeared and radiator still hot... So that will do for now. I guess if it comes back, it will need new TRV? Chapter 2. How hard is it to replace TRV?
  9. Well if plumbing and pipes floats your boat - then be my guest
  10. Will look for it when I get up there. If I do, what its for and what do I do with it? You think that might leak and when air escapes it makes whistle noise? Or?
  11. Well, I only go from what specialists on the Google "told" me I will get in the loft straight after work and will see where exactly it's coming from. I do hope it's a float valve as already got one and looks like it's quite easy to change lol
  12. That lol I believe im ok with DIY stuff
  13. I completely see what you saying and inderstand that. We are on a good terms, so this won't cause any problems and I have text message to prove if needed
  14. Nah, I asked her and she said it's ok. I don't mind doing something like this...saves us all time and it's not that expensive. If it was something big or expensive - I would've let them to sort it.
  15. Hahaha what potentially can go wrong? Apart from flooding house from the loft?
  16. Thanks all I don't have a photo yet and was gonna pop down to screwfix or similar on the way home, before they shut, but I'm sure they will know what to give me
  17. Also I can see there are different types of the valve...side entry, bottom entry etc. do we know which one I need or do I need to check physically? Or I suppose I can buy both and just return one lol
  18. That's awesome advise, thanks Dan! Sounds like pretty straight forward and will have a go tonight, if I can get to screw fix in time lol And yea, will be buying whole thing as looks like they are quite cheap. Do I need to cut water supply to whole house or just to that part? Sorry, probably very stupid question
  19. It's this time of the year when this stuff happens more and more Basically, I have a high pitched noise/whistle somewhere in the bathroom/loft above bathroom. Only happens when central heating comes on. I've googled it and found that usually it's ball valve either in the toilet or the fill tank in the loft.. It's not the toilet in my case, so I guess it would be full tank in the loft (will get up there after after work to check). Question is: is it hard to change that ball valve? As I never done any plumbing stuff, but at same time don't want to get landlord calling plumbers to fix it if I can do it myself without waiting around or making much mess Would anyone recommend any particular replacing parts? Like to change whole thing or does it only need a certain part replacing? Any recommendations on which one (brand/style etc) Any help would be appreciated...gonna tackle it after work lol

    Undersealing the Z

Can be done with exhaust on, but I would do it with it off as A ) you want to make sure you cover everything and don't miss bits B ) if you get it on the exhaust - it will be burning off when hot and I guess that would stink and smoke? C ) I would imagine it will make job a lot easier. Exhaust is not that hard to take off, done it few times without ramp.

    Undersealing the Z

Yes, you'll ideally need to treat any rust first - surface rust can just be cleaned up with a wire brush though - otherwise it'll only ever get worse. Well, might as well do it properly while I'm under there lol Would you reccomend any good rust killer/treatment? And is it ok to do it in a cold weather?

    Undersealing the Z

Just googled that an loads of great reviews, so will be using that. Question is: do I need to use anything before I apply that? Or just use wire brush to clean up surface? Do I need anything for already rusty bits? Like rust killer?

    Undersealing the Z

Would you guys recommend under-sealing in a warm garage or cold weather ok for that stuff? As I was thinking this would be a good little/big project to do over winter, but I don't have a garage
  25. Wow! That looks mega...I knew it's gonna be big, but I defiantly underestimated you and your madness Uncle K
