  1. I used mine for my commute this morning (as it's my only car) and got caught out in the snow, I've had it a week and a half now, so still 'learning the ropes' (and getting used to the high clutch bite) Made my drive into work an 'interesting' experience, especially as my last car was an Audi TT Quattro. Gave a whole new meaning to the words 'snow drift'!
  2. Oooo, thanks Chris. I'd have done the same as you mate if trading in a Zed. I may be in touch very soon. Cheers for the heads up.
  3. Great, thanks for the response
  4. Hi All, Apologies if this is a FAQ. In my centre console, I have, what appears to be a phone cradle/holder type thing. There are also a couple of 'phone related' buttons on the sterring wheel. To enable me to connect my phone (via bluetooth) to my car, is it simply a case of buying something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-350z-B ... 4a9f1029a1 Is it plug and play as the item sugests, or is more involved? I currently have an iPhone 4 BTW. Thanks guys. I've had my car 1 week, 1 day now and I'm LOVING it!
  5. Hi buddy. No, I'm afraid he only had the one. Yeah I noticed we were both looking for the same car, and basically with the same budget too (See your thread in the Wanted section). I don't wanna upset you, but I paid £5450 for mine. It was an auction on eBay, so I asked the seller lots of questions about the car before deciding what my maximum bid would be and how much I was prepared to pay. If I lost/got out bid I'd just continue my search. But I won at a price I was very happy with. I wasn't able to view the car before bidding (but did ask lots of questions and asked for additional photos) and if the car wasn't as the seller described, I'd have walked away. But to be honest, it was better than I hoped for. There are a couple on eBay for sale at the moment, exactly the same colour and spec etc, but with 100k miles for £6k at dealers, might be worth seeing if you can knock them down a bit if you've got cash. Good luck with the search mate, I'll try point Lady Luck in your direction, as she's sorted me out (Ooer).
  6. Dammit!!! Spoke too soon... Was cold this morning, so I think you're right Pete. Wass okay once I'd managed to play a few tracks.
  7. UPDATE... I picked my 350z up today! I'm now the proud owner of a 2004 UK 350z GT in Gunmetal Grey.
  8. I've just got home from picking up my 350z I'm now officially part of the Zed Club. I've bought a 2004 UK GT model in Gunmetal Grey. 81k miles, , Janspeed rear silencer, FSH & 12 months MOT from a private seller. It's gonna need a new front tyre soon and a damn good polish, but apart from that, it wants for nothing. Had an almost 2 hour drive back from up north to home after picking it up and was very impressed. The BOSE CD player didn't skip at all either! Got a pile of paperwork (receipts, invoices etc) for the work that has been carried out and all the old MOT's. Only thing missing is the owners handbook, so forgive me if I ask a few random questions until I get hold of one. I know I need to post some photos up, but I'll take some after I've polished it Right, I'm off to look out the window at it again.....
  9. Erm... "It was dark"! "Her face was obscured by the camera". "I was dazzled by your constant flashing". Ooer..
  10. But C.J's IS gun metal grey? I'm on the lookout for virtually the same as you mate. GM UK GT car and a similar budget. If one crops up, I'll fight ya for it! UPDATE - 26.3.2012 I've found one now!
  11. I was kinda put off by your mum holding the video camera Dave...
  12. I flashed when I saw someone in the same make and model of my car once. Unfortunately I was in a dark, deserted car park at night at the time. Apparently flashing your lights in this particular scenario indicates a different interest....
  13. Well, there are currently a couple I have my eye on, on eBay. Looking at what previous cars have sold for, they might be within my budget. They're private sales, but I'll just price the TT low and hope for a quick sale once I've secured the Zed. What do you think to these? Do they/have they belonged to anyone on here? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110842902213? ... 1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130668186275? ... 1423.l2649
  14. Hi Player 2301, do you still have the 350z? I'm looking for one and see you're relatively local to me. If you've still got it, would you take £5k cash before you p/x it for the TT? I have the cash waiting and could give it you this weekend? You can keep the plate too, as I already have my own cherished number.

    Roof Bars

I'm not even sure they do that much Chris! I think they just cut the excess tubing off the end and paint 'em black! To bridge the 2 cross bars, I think I could just use a cheapo roof mounted bike rack and take the 'bike mounting bits' off it. This would also add a bit more strength to the structure. In fact, I think I've still got a bike carrier that I can butcher in garage or loft. Appreciate your help and input.

    Roof Bars

Bang on the money there Chris with the Highland! Thanks Buddy I also just found this thread which confirms it. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41933 I see a light at the end of the tunnel. (Just hope it isn't a freight train heading my way).

    Roof Bars

That's great, thanks for the response Chris, very useful. I'll have a close look at the Boofsquire images and maybe try get a look at some 'universal' roof bards sets down Halfords or somewhere. I won't be taking the kayak too far. Fortunately the local meet/river sessions are held about 5-6 miles from my house, with no real opportunity to get upto much speed on the road anyway. So whichever solution I find (hopefully) will be used with great care and with the understanding that it's only to be used for short distances. If I need to take it a reasonable distance, I'll just have to blag a lift off someone. Thanks again

    Roof Bars

Hi All, I appreciate this might be a FAQ, but I've searched and can't find an answer. Has anyone found a solution to the roof bar (or lack of) issue? APART FROM the Boofsquire rack, which would be perfectr for me (as I need to carry my kayak), but unfortunately they are sold out with no forcasted future production runs Has anyone (or do you know of anyone) used the 'soft' universal bars such as these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Soft-roof-rac ... 2eb864fb6e Appreciate any suggestions (apart from the obvious get rid of the kayak, get a different car). Cheers, Ian
  19. That's a bit spooky C.J! I was just reading your ad for your car, wishing I had a slightly bigger budget! Why you now selling the Zed? Are you sure I can't convince you that getting rid of your TT 225 was the worst decision you ever made and that you REALLY need another one? Maybe a nice black Y2000 one? And also maybe convince you that my car is worth about £5k? Look into my eys, not around the eys, look in my eys. 3,2,1 and you're back in the room. Now, you want a TT dont you C.J....

    350Z GT Gunmetal Grey

I'd certainly ask the owner why (for the sake of £30-£50) he isn't putting it through an MOT. You might get a reassuring answer, or you might get a good reason to walk away. You'll always wonder why unless you ask. A full MOT makes a car more desirable than a car with virtually none. And as the current MOT is due to expire in APril, the owner can actually MOT the car now (March) and still preserve the original expiry date (effectively giving it a 13 month MOT) - if it passes of course! I'd definitely just as him/her why they're not MOTing it so close to its expiry date if they're looking to sell the car.
  21. Hi Dan, Thanks for your response. Jeez, that's a good price for your TT! I've tried a couple of places and the general consensus seems to be about £2500. We buy any car have said £2600 - £2800 (ish) but I'd expect to be offered less when I turn up to do the deed. One place has offered me £1500 in part ex for a Zed! I'd rather keep it as a winter car for that! How does the Zed compare to the TT? You stopped grinning yet? Cheers, Ian
  22. Hi All, Thanks again for the welcome. The search has begun and the more I view pictures of a Zed, the more I want one! Quick question (I know it's probably one that's been asked many times nefore, so didn't want to begin a new thread). What are your thoughts on cars that have covered 100k miles (with good or ful service history)? My view on high(er) mileage cars it that they've spent time on the motorway 'cruising' at lower revs, rather than doing many short trips to the shops etc, which effectively would/could casue more wear an tear on mechanicals and interior etc. Is this the case on the 3.5l v6? For example, a car I've spotted in the right colour, right spec etc is currently on eBay at my kinda money. (Link below). If they'll give me a decent p/x value on my TT, so you think it's worth the 2 and a half hour drive to talk business? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400281813011? ... 1423.l2649 Or there's this one, a little further away for me, but again, the right colour (IMO) I'm waiting to hear from them about the service history though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320861474771? ... 1423.l2649 Your thoughts are welcome. Cheers, Ian
