    Alloy Wheels

I'm assuming (so forgive me if I'm wrong) where you say 'standard', you mean non-Rays? This guy is selling a set on eBay, but indivudually. Front http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-18-Ni ... 4ab802911b Rear http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-18-Ni ... 4ab8029120
  2. I'll send you a PM Squee when I'm home and on the laptop
  3. I'm sure you're gonna receive "iPod Hack" replies, as that's really popular, but I just had a new HU with Bluetooth connectivity and I'm really impressed. I just stream music from my iPhone directly to the HU via BT - no cables needed.
  4. Pleased it's all sorted for you now mate. Why not bring the car along to the West Mids meet on the 16th June to celebrate? viewtopic.php?f=89&t=62263
  5. I knew this would happen, it was inevitable after looking at all your cars in Wales.... I used to be more than happy with how my car looked. I used to be.... Has anyone got a front splitter knocking around? I've seem 'em on eBay for about £100, but thought I'd ask around these parts too, just in case. Cheers, Ian

    New menber

Hello and I do like those wheels
  7. Congrats on the invite Mark and good luck with the show. Have a good 'un
  8. Hi, I successfully completed this mod this weekend. As long as you can strip and then connect (via solder or 'crimping') wires together, it's an easy job. I'm a complete electrical novice (can just about wire a plug), so I added a post to the end of the thread which may help you out.
  9. Apparently the previous owner lost control as he was trying to reach 88 mpn...
  10. Cheers Un1eash. I sorted the issue this weekend. After pulling the head unit out and scratching my head a bit whilst looking at the amount of wires (and the Halfrauds mess - they had used a Y splitter, but not how I thought it was originally intended) behind the HU, I figured the red and white RCA plugs were for the front only, so I initially tried wiring the rear speakers directly to the HU and cut the black and yellow RCA plugs off. The amount of volume (and additional performance) that came out of the rears after I'd done this quickly convinced me to also wire the front speakers through the HU aswell Turns out, Buster had already done this many times before anyway.... viewtopic.php?f=27&t=61360&start=15 All sorted now. And I'm quite chuffed that I did it myself
  11. Seller states.... "My cars are on my drive". Really? Cos it looks like it's parked in the road from your listing This car was on eBay a couple of months ago when I was looking. I didn't consider it. For what a) The car will cost you and, what you'll possibly have to spend on it, I'd put those 2 sums of money together and buy a good 'un.
  12. I have done this wiring 'mod' today, and just like Bob (Buster), I'm shocked with the results. My stereo is now seriously LOUD!! I had a HU recently fitted by Halfrauds and although it 'worked', it just wasn't right. All 4 speakers worked and the volume was OK, but something just wasn't right.... So after reading the online guides, I thought I'd pull the HU out to see if I could help improve things. I won't bore you with the full story, I'll just 'cut to the chase' as it were and cut a long story short. In a nutshell, you need to cut the below off the loom(s) harness and then match the 8 wires you're left with together. Once you cut the red, white, black and yellow RCA plugs off, strip the black covering back to reveal two wires underneath it. (In lay-mans terms as I'm no expert at all, the coloured RCA plugs look like they're fed by a thick black wire, but it's just covering 2 thinner wires). On my harness, once I'd stripped the black covering back, one wire is 'bare' - this is the earth wire, the other insulated wire is coloured and is therefore easy to match with the other wire you've cut. (Match colour to colour and the wire with a black trace is your earth). The other connector block that is fed by 8 coloured wires is for your speakers. All that is to be done is match the 8 wires together and connect them. I used 'crimps', but they could easily be soldered. When all was finished, I just had one connector block feeding into the back of the HU (aswell as the mic, steering wheel control and aerial). The RCA plugs are no longer used. My stereo is an Alpine unit (CDE-W235BT). This mod has made a tremendous change to the sound output and performance as a whole. On the HU, volume 4 is loud, 5 is very loud and 6 was really gonna p*** the neighbours off if I left it that loud whilst refitting everything. I cannot use the 'Loud on/off' function on the HU as just going from 3 - 4 on the volume control makes a massive difference. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ian
  13. I bought this in April off another forum member (see here viewtopic.php?f=32&t=57825&start=0 ) I've now changed my head unit (with BT integrated), so this is no longer needed. It's in perfect working order. £65 delivered with a free jiffy bag.
  14. Hi All, I've read all the guides on this (and other) forums, but I'm still a bit stumped. I've got myself a new Alpine HU and all the associated leads, harnesses etc, but here's the thing, the ICT leads have 4 RCA plugs. A red, white, black and yellow. On the back of my new HU there are only 2 - the red and white. Which are (according to the HU wiring diagram) 'Front/subwoofer output RCA connectors'. So, what do I do with, or where do I put the black and yellow RCA connectors? The HU for reference is an Alpine CDE-W235BT Cheers, Ian
  15. ^^^^Exactly what 350Ad said above^^^^ Just a bit of feedback/update. Did mine last night with 4p and it works perfectly! Many thanks again
  16. I'm not normally a fan of black wheels, but with the other black accents on the car, I think they work really well. Car looks great - mean looking stance too! Good work As a fellow GM owner, I'll watch your future developments with interest.. How much are you looking for, for your spacers (I see you've removed them now) and what are you gonna do with your Rays....?
  17. Hi All, Was really good to meet some of you on Saturday and to take a look at your Zeds. I now have a list of things that I didn't know I wanted prior to my trip to Wales! Hope you all had a great weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to join you for longer than just an afternoon next year. Cheers, Ian
  18. Hi All, Although I can't make the whole weekend, or the drive outs, I'm hoping to come meet you guys on the Saturday afternoon at the hotel if that's ok? I'll make it there kinda mid-afternoon and stick around pretty much for the remainder of the day, probably drooling over your cars. Really looking forward to meeting you all. Cheers, Ian
  19. Mine's a 2004 UK GT and it doesn't state GT on the V5 logbook either. It does say 'Body Type - Sports' which made me smile

    Clutch Burn

The same happened to me this past weekend. My drive is on an incline and always reverse up onto it. This weekend I was 'faffing' about on the drive (moving the car across so I could get my bike out the garage) and I was suddenly hit with the aforementioned clutch smell. I thought I'd knackered the clutch, but a quick drive round the block re-assured me I hadn't. This thread is perfectly timed and has shown me I'm not the only one to have experienced a smelly clutch.
  21. Hello and congratulations on your new purchase.
  22. I'm sure someone will be along with the exact answers to your tax question very soon, but although your car is an 04, it will depend when the car was imported/registered in this country. I think the 'cut off' date is March 2006. If it was imported/registered before this date, it will be the cheaper £270 ish per year, after this date, it'll be the higher tax group. Enjoy the sleepless night tonight! And have a great drive home tomorrow. I'd expect about 26-27 MPG. I'd worry more about the face ache from grinning than the fuel consumption on your first drive. Oh, and welcome to the club
  23. Spotted this morning, as title, Sunset Orange 350Z, heading north on M42, near J3 about 08:40am. I was just moving over into lane 1 (to exit) and you were 'making progress' in lane 3. Didn't catch reg no. It was the first Zed I'd seen 'in flight' since owning mine, damn they look good
